Keep Your Enemies Closer

Ferdinand arrived home by midnight on the same day that he left work to go to the bar.

He closed the door and was about to go to his bedroom but his father's voice stopped him from within the darkness of the mansion. All the lights were turned off and Ferdinand didn't notice his father at first.

"Where have you been all day? I got a call that you left the company as soon as you arrived in it." Mr Khalid said to Ferdinand.

Ferdinand turned around and saw his father seated on the couch and watching him.

"What do you want old man?" Ferdinand asked.

"I asked you a question." Mr Khalid said.

"Where I was is none of your business. I'm an adult and such questions are below me." Ferdinand retorted.

"Come here. We need to talk." Mr Khalid said.

"I don't have time for this, Father. I'm tired and in a bad mood. Most of all, I need to go to sleep. We will talk in the morning." Ferdinand replied nonchalantly.

"Ferdinand!" Mr Khalid yelled, Ferdinand paused on the stairs.
