No Turning back

Vincent sat in his plush leather chair, staring out the window of his corner office.

It's been five extra months since he put the case of Ferdinand and José in the hands of Jared and a lot has been going through his mind lately.

"Why?" he muttered.

He got up and went to his window, gazing out at the busy street below and getting deeply drowned in his thoughts.

Vincent was suddenly interrupted by a loud banging on his door.

Startled, he turned around and found himself going to attend to it himself.

Before Vincent could even reach the handle, the door flew open and a dishevelled-looking Jared stormed into the office.

His clothes were wrinkled and stained with blood. His body didn't get any better as he looked as though he just received a thorough beating.

Jared's face was covered in bruises and his lips were stained with blood.

Seeing him in that condition, Vincent guessed it right that his entrance had caused quite a stir-up in the company.
