Seoul Stronghold HQ.
Interrogation room.
May 27, 2048. 18:38
In a white room, sitting in a chair around a table, the General had on an annoyed expression as he looked at the young man that was across from him.
He had been trying to get him to talk, but, ever since he got here he just sat there in silence.
"Are you mute? Why aren't you saying anything?" Slight anger could be heard in the General's voice.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door before it was pushed open.
A man wearing a military uniform who looked to be in his early twenties entered the room.
His right hand was wrapped in bandages and was placed in a sling around his neck, while his left hand was holding a folder with documents inside.
Walking up to the table, the young soldier handed the documents to the General while saying, "Here are the reports you asked for General."
"Hmm" The General let out a hum showing his thanks before he looked towards the young soldier's arm and asked, "Is your arm okay?"
The young soldier bowed slightly as he said, "Thanks for your concern General, but it's okay, I've had worse."
While the young soldier had his head bowed, his eyes momentarily glanced at the young man's shoulder.
What he saw made all his hair stand up, as a chill went down his spine. The arm he had just said was fine, suddenly felt like it was pulsing with pain.
On the young man's shoulder, the snake-like creature was lazily laying down while looking at the young soldier with a condescending gaze.
Going back a little in time to figure out the details.
The young man that came from the wormhole had just arrived at HQ, and the young soldier was the one that was tasked to search him. However, who would've thought that before his hands could even start searching him, the seemingly weak snake-like creature on the young man's shoulder, would transform its mouth to the size of a dog's and bite the young soldier's right arm.
Its teeth had sunken all the way to the bone in an instant, and just when the soldier thought his arm was going to be cleanly ripped off, the snake-like creature stopped and transformed back to its original appearance.
Another thing that frightened the young soldier at the time, was how the young man was coldly looking on, without a change in his expression.
"Alright, you can go."
The young soldier snapped out of his thoughts and bowed again before hurrying out of the room.
Placing the documents on the table, the General opened the folder and started looking through them.
"We've run a face recognition scan through our database, and it says here that your name is Lee Young-soo. Before the disaster, you lived in a single-parent household with your mother Lee Hee-Young and your little brother Lee Min-su..."
The General paused there and looked up at Young-soo, but the other just had his head down, staring at a device on his wrist that looked like a watch.
On it was a green bar that was 2/3 full.
Ignoring his behavior, the General started reading the report again.
"During the first wave of the yellow gas, your mother died in a helicopter crash when she was reporting for South Korea's International News…" The General glanced up again, but Young-soo still had his head down.
"..following that, you were thought to be dead along with your brother..."
Young-soo's voice suddenly interrupted the General.
"How did my brother die?"
Looking up from the documents, the General saw that Young-soo was staring at him.
With a frown on his face, the General said, "You won't answer any of my questions, but you want me to answer yours?"
Young-soo only stared at the General without saying anything.
Seeing this the General frown deepen before he sat up in his chair and crossed his arms.
"A large fire happened in Gangnam. When the investigation team arrived on the scene everything was already burned to ashes, with only a portal remaining. Your house was nearby so reports were made that you and your brother died in the fire. But, judging from the fact that you're still alive, and you've even appeared out of the Gangnam portal, something tells me that the reports aren't that accurate..."
The General release one of his hands and reached for the documents on the table, and took up a photo.
Placing the photo in the air so it aligned with Young-soo's face, he continued, "What I really want to know is how even after eighteen years, your appearance barely changed. Do you have an evolved ability that allows you to retain your appearance?"
"Screech!!"
Young-soo's chair made a screeching noise as he stood up.
"Who is earth's ruler?"
"What?"
The General was slightly confused by Young-soo's sudden question, but, seeing that he became silent once again and wasn't going to explain himself, he just decided to play along.
"The United Nations is the focal point of earth's power, they're the ones in charge."
"Not what I'm asking," Yong-soo said.
The General looked at Young-soo with a more annoyed expression as he said, "Then what 'are' you asking. Can't you use more than five words in your sentences?"
Young-soo was silent for a moment before he said, "I'm not asking which organization governs the earth, I'm asking who is the strongest evolved human that rules it."
As Young-soo spoke, his voice was shaking slightly, as if he wasn't used to speaking so much at once.
Shaking his head the General responded with, "Sorry to say this, but there's no one like that, the UN is the only 'ruler' of earth. But, if you want to know who is the strongest evolved human on the planet, then that's probably the leader of the Heroes Raising Guild, Danzel Stein."
"Beep..beep"
Young-soo looked down at his wrist device that now had a full bar on it with the words 'd******d complete' underneath it. After the beeping sound coming from it stopped, information started popping up on the screen.
Young-soo wore a passive expression as he swiped his finger up the screen causing all the information to be projected in the air in front of him.
When the General saw that his expression didn't change, after all, with earth's technology a watch like that was common.
However, when he saw the information being projected his eyes went wide with shock.
All the information that was being shone was information that he had personally seen within the HQ database, some of them were even highly classified information that he couldn't access with his authorization.
"That's classified information you're not supposed to see!! How did you even get it?!" The General shouted and stood up from his chair as he glared at Young-soo.
Young-soo ignored him and tapped on his wristwatch causing a blueprint of the build to pop up on the hologram projection in front of him. After looking at it for a moment he started walking towards the wall on his right.
The General looked at him asked, "Where are you going?"
"To see Danzel Stein."
When the General heard Young-soo's reply he got the urge to laugh out loud.
"Young man, if I should even call you that, did you not hear what I just said, Danzel Stein is the strongest evolved human on the planet, why would he even give a no-name person like you the time of day?"
Young-soo stopped in front of the wall and placed his hand on it.
The General shook his and looked at this crazy person with derision as he said, "It's no use, this entire room is made from Alveium. Even if you have superhuman strength as your evolved ability you still won't be able to…"
The following words got stuck in the General's throat as he watched the entire wall turn to dust, and scatter into the hallway that appeared.
The derision he felt was gone as a chill went up his spine, and reached his head, causing him to feel a numbing sensation in his scalp.
The General watched as Young-soo walked past the now non-existent wall and entered the hallway, disappearing around a corner soon after. He wanted to move to stop him, but, when he looked at the dust that remained from the wall, he was unwilling to get near a person that could destroy earth's strongest metal with just a touch. 'Does he have the power of decay? Or is it an evolved ability that allows him to deconstruct something at a subatomic level? I can't tell what his evolved ability is just from looking, but one thing's for sure since he's able to destroy Alevium metal with just a touch, the higher-ups won't just allow him to roam around by himself.' As the General was thinking to himself, sounds of alarms could be heard ringing within the building, while bullets being fired echoed. The door to the room was pushed open, and in came running was the young soldier from before. "General what should we do, or men are reporting that our Alevium
"Where is he."The General felt the heavy pressure lifted from his shoulders.Steadying his raged breath he looked at Young-soo and said, "This isn't the place to talk."The General pointed his thumb in the direction of the building.Young-soo frownslightlyand said, "If you're lying your dead."Saying that he started walking back to the building's entrance. The General didn't say anything and lead the way through the corridors, back to the same interrogation room with the missing wall.Sitting down on the chair, the General gestured for Young-soo to take a seat.As Young-soo sat down, the General glanced towards the damaged camera, before he turned to Young-soo and started speaking."Back when the portals first started to appear around the world, there was a one year period before the evolved beast started to attack humanity. Between that one year, the UN had a hard time controlling the evolved humans that st
Seoul Stronghold, Gangnam Lab 19.Chief Scientist Office.May 30, 2048. 17:13 pmInside his office, professor Kim was examining the dust, from the wall Young-soo destroyed, through a microscope."F*ck!!""Crash!!"Professor Kim cursed as he swept the test tubes and equipment that was next to him, onto the ground.Looking at him, one could see the dark lines under his eyes and his slightly sunken chick bones.Due to a lack of water, his lips were starting to become dry while his face was turning pale. For the past three days, he had been continuously examining the dust without any sleep or food. And for the past three days, he still hadn't been able to identify what sort of ability Young-soo had used to destroy the Alevium wall."Goddammit!!""It's not decay, it's not deconstruction, it's not time manipulation, nor is it spatial manipulation. What the hell is it then!!""I have th
Seoul Stronghold. Stein Hotel. May 31, 2048. 11:59:pm Messy. One word that could describe the current state of the hotel room. All over the floor, several empty cans of beer bottles, instant ramen noodle cups, and dozens of pizza boxes could be seen. There were several pieces of clothes thrown randomly around the room as well. "Beep..beep..beep.." Young-soo who was sleeping on the large bed suddenly snapped his eyes open and jumped up from a sleeping position. His body started radiating a brutal aura, while his eyes that were filled with hostility, scanned the room. After realizing where he was, the brutal aura he was releasing slowly withdrew into his body followed by the hostility in his eyes. Looking down at the watch on his right arm, he sighed and tap a button on it, stopping the alarm. Scratching his disheveled hair, he slumped back onto the bed, causing the sleeping
Seoul Stronghold. Gangnam Memorial Building. May 31, 2048. 13:37 The General park the black SUV in front of the huge memorial build that housed the names and pictures of everyone who died in Gangnam during the disaster. Getting out of the car the General and Young-soo walked up several steps to reach the double door entrance. A huge monolith made from marble was placed next to the doors with the words, "Gangnam's Memorial Building", carved in bold letters on it, there was also a sentence underneath it written in cursive writing that read, "So we will never forget" Young-soo only gave it a cursory glance before continuing to the entrance. Upon entering through the double doors, Young-soo was greeted by an open area that had several tens of rows of marble monolith that were smaller than the one at the entrance. Each monolith had hundreds of names and pictures on them that show the now dead citizens. They we
Seoul, Gangnam. December 19, 2030, 15:03 "Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh." The sound of the helicopter's rotor blades echoed from the TV as a female Korean reporter, reported the news. "This just in, a huge wormhole appeared in the sky above the Pacific Ocean. We don't know how it came to be, but scientists believe it to be a wormhole leading to an entirely different universe from our own." The female reporter paused as she pressed a finger against her earpiece, seeming to have been told something, she then looked back to the camera and started speaking again. "We're getting reports that the UN has decided to send a fighter drone to investigate the wormhole." As the female reporter's voice sounded out, the camera swerves around to show the scene. In the middle of the sky, a pitch-black hole several hundred meters wide could be seen. Even from miles away, it still looked enormous.
May 27, 2048. Eighteen years have passed since the giant wormhole opened up over the Pacific Ocean. What followed was the decrease in earth's population from 8 billion, to only 3 billion. After the yellow gas started to spread from the giant wormhole, it caused a chain reaction leading to smaller wormholes appearing around the globe. The increase in the number of wormholes wasn't the cause of the earth's decrease in population though. The cause was the yellow gas that each of them spewed out. When the yellow gas came in contact with humans around the world, their body's cellular structure started to evolve. Humans with superhuman abilities started to appear in society. Some of them had the strength to lift cars and trucks, some had the ability to fly in the air, while others gained psychic abilities. The superheroes told in fiction were starting to appear one by one. However, when everyone was focused on
