‘Thump!!’

‘screech!’

‘get him, he's getting away!’

‘What's with the noise?’ Ethan thought his eyes fully awake as if he had never slept before. He sighed and got out of bed spontaneously. He opened the door.

“ Disturbing people in the middle of the night , that's a really nice thing to do, you know,” Ethan said without the slightest tinge of emotion as he retrieved a lighter from his pocket and did the job of continuous on and off.

At the end of the corridor that led to the staircase, he could clearly see three thugs with nothing more than baseball sticks and maybe knives, apprehending Kim, the Motel owner. It was all weird, he didn't know why they'd chosen this late at night.

“ I bet you'd like to mind your own business visitor, I bet you'd like to “ one of the thugs smiled as he got near Reyes.

“ Well not if you're disturbing my sleep “ Ethan replied, the degree Celsius of his icy tone decreasing as much as ever.

“ Very well then “ the thug nodded and charged at him with a brandished dagger, immediately aiming at his heart on arrival.

Ethan Bent to the left, escaping the dagger by a slight centimeter. He held the thug's head and banged it on his thigh making him let out a painful groan, he wanted to knock him out, a few punches in the abdomen and a quick hard hit on the head after futile struggle from the thug did the job.

“Okay who's next? “ Ethan coldly asked, focusing on his lighter.

“You punk!” The next thug ran at Ethan full speed.

“ Another idiot “ Ethan snorted coldly and just stepped aside, as hard as the thug tried to control his speed, he couldn't, he felt like he had gone too far on the speed.

‘toom!’ the wall vibrated.

‘ouch!, you're truly a punk, I'll teach you a lesson’ the thug charged at Ethan again.

This time, he was aiming at his thighs with a knife. Etan weaved, and held the back of his neck, flinging him into the wall again, he then got close to him seeing he just sat beside the wall almost lifeless.

“Good night” Ethan brought out a face towel and made the thug take a little sniff…and then…

‘Blackout’

“ The next one's gone, we'reefy with you Mr Man, what?, are you afraid?, m getting impatient you know ” Ethan continued with his lighter again.

“ You know what?, I'm wasting my time here, just die already ” the last thug said and pointed a gun at Ethan. Right when he was about to pull the trigger.

‘thump’

‘arrghh’ the thug groaned as he rolled on the floor, his gun as far as it can ever be, out of his reach. Kim had used his back leg to his him down there.

“ Goodnight” Ethan announced about to enter his room.

“No wait, Thank you” Kim smiled with all gratitude, halting Ethan momentarily.

Ethan paused and nodded indifferently before getting back into his room.

***

“ “ Ethan got up from his bed, still thinking about what happened last night. He went to the diary, did some cool edits and found his way to the bathroom.

After a refreshing shower, he decided to go shopping, then he remembered, he had no Korean currency. Whatever, he'll just use crypto anyways.

He finished up and helped himself out of the room after a hot cup of coffee. It was refreshing.

As he strode, he's shoes knocked the ground excitedly. He was still moving almost at Mr Kim's office, when he heard a sound. It was creepy.

‘arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr’ it just continued without stop, like a horror movie, he traced the voice to a room which was glass. It was what he expected least …A BUDDHA.

“ “ Ethan sighed and entered the reception room.

“Good morning Mr Ethan” Mr Kin seemed rather lively this morning.

“ Good morning, I'd like to extend my stay duration here” Ethan said going straight to the point like he always did.

“ Yes sir, all you have to do is alter the amount of time here and pay the required amount” Mr Kim smiled, bringing out the envelope they had used for their last agreement.

“ Ok “ Ethan replied and did his thing and gave it back to him.

“I'll pay with crypto, send me ur ID, here's my business card” Ethan said and left the office almost as easily as he came in.

He descended a flight of stairs slowly and rhythmically but all of a sudden.

‘bump’ Ethan bumped into someone, she looked familiar, but all of a sudden he found himself slowly helping her pack her stuff that had fallen to the ground.

“Hey, I know you!, you're Ethan right, I met you at the embassy” Sun-deok’s mood brightened.

“Apparently” Ethan gave her her stuff without emotions.

“What are you doing here?, stalking me?” Ethan asked.

“Kim Sun-deok duh” Sun-deok rolled her eyes.

“Right” Ethan focused his gaze elsewhere and pulled out of her presence.

“Won't you at least tell me where you're going?” Sun-deok retorted after his departing figure with her hands shaped in a ‘won’t you at least say?’ fashion. She then turned towards the staircase and advanced to the reception.

“Dad how did that guy get here?” Sun-deok asked her father in hope of an answer.

“Ethan?” Kim asked puzzled.

“Yes, Dad” Sun-deok calmed and sat down.

“ He's a good boy, they attacked again yesterday night, Ethan beat them all up, that guy is more than you see, you know”

Kim replied smiling.

“Do you know him?” Kim asked.

“Yes, I met him at the embassy, I kept wishing I'd see him again, but he's too cold dad” Sun-deok replied her face watching here fingers wrestle in an unsettling manner.

“Well, you're grown Sun-deok, I've been worried about your emotions disappearing into thin air, you hold the key, if he's cold, make him hot, that's why woman were created” Kim smiled and rested his back on his seat.

“Thanks dad, I love you” Sun-deok smiled.

“Anytime darling, I love you too” Kim’s smile widened.

“Yeah, so about the case…”
