Chapter Sixty Four: Old Habits Don't Die

That noon Daniel sat in the sitting room, his eyes glued on the television. There was a news currently showing and the headlines read: School Principal and Ten Students vanish Without Trace.

"...they were on an excursion to a haunted house and ten were captured by Miss Pinmaker who has been confirmed to be a human trafficker. Only five students managed to escape and were rescued by the cops," the female newscaster said.

"Interesting," Daniel said as he patted Caroline. "The Police sure knows how to handle things, adjusting the details. So this is how they've been doing for decades now."

Caroline raised her head to look at Daniel before purring in complaint. Daniel had to stop patting her and allow her to watch the news in peace.

"The parents of the students are so aggrieved and demand that the 'wicked' school be shut down. The teachers and students are placed in a vulnerable state as the best school in the city is about to be shut down," the female newscaster continued as she brushed
