Wolf Cried, "Howl!"

Ryan, Jackson and Daniel had so much fun after the incident. First they went bike racing on the highway and got reprimanded by a cop. Then they went to pull pranks on a construction site down Woodbury Street where they let out air from bunch of tyres belonging to the construction vehicles there and smeared paints on the surfaces of the vehicles. It was Jackson's idea and it turned out to be so much fun for Daniel. Next they went to Daniel's house and tried making a new recipe. It was also Jackson's idea and he claimed there was a new food he saw and was interested in making it. To cut the story short, they ended up making a charred stuff which seemed like something the miners would dig from the mine—it was exactly coal.

In the evening the two friends bid Daniel farewell, leaving him to the loneliness of the bungalow. Seeing them leave, Daniel couldn't help but feel very down. Now he was back to being alone in the house.

"At least I have Caroline," Daniel said to himself. "And I also have my phone."

He chuckled as he walked to the house after standing at the wooden gate for so long, staring down the street where he saw his friends disappear. He walked straight to his bedroom and jumped towards his bed, almost landing on the floor. He was so lucky to have landed on the bed or his face would be having a great argument with the floor. No doubt, the floor would have used its hardness to win the argument. It was such a funny scene though.

"I can never fall like this," Daniel took a deep breathe as he turned on his smartphone. After switching on his data, he logged on to f******k and immediately went straight to Curious Mythologists group chat. Thankfully, every member of the group was present.

Crying God immediately sent a message, "@Crimson Wolf, there's a friend interested in our stuff I wanted to add. Can I add him?"

Daniel smiled, delighted that Curious Mythologists would have a new member. This meant that his group chat was becoming popular.

Does having an extra one member to the current five members count as being popular? he asked himself as he suddenly felt bad. His group chat was far from becoming popular. At least not yet.

"Sure, there's no problem 😉," Daniel replied to Crying God's message. "You can add as many people."

"Many people aren't interested in our stuff," Crying God said. The atmosphere in Curious Mythologists suddenly became awkward. No one talked for seconds.

Then Unknown typed, "What's the best way to get back at someone for the person did bad to you?"

"When did the person did bad to you?" Evil Buddha asked. He was very knowledgeable in stuffs like this. Everyone even began doubting if he was really an 18-year old person and was not in his late 20s.

"Uh..." Unknown typed. "Five years ago."

The situation at Curious Mythologists suddenly became awkward again. Why would someone bear a grudge over another person for five whole years? C'mon!

"That's impractical," Sexy Peacock said. "Why would you bear a grudge for five years straight?"

"It's something deep," Unknown typed. "I can't forget it as long as I keep seeing the person. Even though I stop seeing the person, it will take at least ten years to get it off my chest."

"Unknown, you're only 15 years old," Daniel typed. "You shouldn't be keeping things to your chest."

"Crimson Wolf, you're only 16 years old," Unknown replied. "You shouldn't be advising me."

"..."

If Daniel was drinking, he would have spat out the drink. When did Unknown learn to trash talk someone? Wait, Sexy Peacock. She's been greatly influenced by that cold girl.

"Well, the best way to get back at her is simple," Evil Buddha typed. "Do something in the public that makes her embarrassed—so embarrassed that she wants to pass out."

"Hmmm..." Unknown typed. "Something like what...Wait, I didn't tell you the person was a girl."

Evil Buddha sent a voice note of him chuckling. His voice was very deep and filled with masculinity. Daniel couldn't help but feel ashamed of his own voice which paled in comparison to Evil Buddha's profound voice.

"Why would you get back at someone after five years if it's not a girl?" Evil Buddha typed. "I've seen several situations where someone gets back at her best friend who stole her boyfriend."

Unknown didn't argue with Evil Buddha lest he revealed more of her secrets as she typed, "So what am I gonna do?"

"It's a prank but you won't like it😒," Evil Buddha typed.

"Tell me!🙂" Unknown typed.

"I will tell you in our chat," Evil Buddha typed. "I won't tell you among these spoilt brats. They're gonna repeat the exercise with whoever they please 😀"

"Seems like you don't want to ask us all out 🐈" Crying God began his nonsense. "Go on two of you, go on a date and don't involve us."

Daniel immediately had the impulse to slam his head against the wall after reading such rubbish. An 18-year old dating a 15-year old? Wasn't that child abuse?

Not wanting to spend more time on f******k, he logged off and dropped his phone. He would be having chemistry test on Monday so he had to study hard to remain on top of the class. He didn't want anyone to top him in that test. That would break his flawless prowess in tests and make him look stupid. It wasn't something he could bear to read through.

He walked out of his bed towards his backpack, search through it for his chemistry textbook and went to the reading desk. He placed the book on the desk, sat down and flipped the pages open. The room was a little dim and Daniel couldn't see properly. He had to turn on the lights.

At that time he saw that the room was illuminated by a silvery light, the dim room become brighter than it was before. Although he couldn't read with the silvery light coming from outside, he could see properly. He looked up out of his room, his brown eyes staring at something through the curtain and glass window. There was a ball of silver light suspended far away in the sky. It was surrounded by several stars, making the sky beautiful.

"Full moon," Daniel muttered to himself in fear, watching the full moon at the distance. It was shining radiantly, casting its silvery rays to the earth.

Staring at the moon, Daniel felt a great sense of fear. This was because during full moon, newly initiated people would transform into Werewolves. It was at this moment the people marked by various senior Lycanthropes would undergo full initiation as Lycanthropes. It wasn't as if the mere thought of becoming a Lycanthrope drove a sense of fear into Daniel. No, that wasn't the case. The reason he was fearful was simple. The transformation was filled with a great pain!

Daniel was still shivering with fear when suddenly he felt his bones cracking rapidly as they expanded and twisted out of their various positions.

"Ah!" he groaned as he dropped to the ground, gasping in a great pain. It was a pain one could not describe—a pain one had never felt before. It was as if all his bones were rapidly popped out of their sockets, turned and expanded like thin sheets of metals.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The cracking sounds from his bones didn't stop as his body began increasing rapidly, visible tears appearing in his clothes. His expression became warped, filled with so much anguished. It felt as if he would not survive the transformation. His mind buzzed, becoming chaotic with a loud ringing. He couldn't even think properly.

I'm...I'm...transforming? he thought with difficulty as he felt more intense pain in his fingers and toes than other parts of his body. They cracked more loudly as sharp and long claws grew out from the tips, replacing the smooth fingernails. It was as if several knives were being stabbed through the tips of his fingers and toes.

"Ah!" he groaned as he rolled on the ground before struggling to his feet by grabbing the edge of the desk near him. He gasped in pain as he felt as if several pins were stabbing through his whole body. He staggered towards the mirror and looked at himself, his brown eyes dilating at what he saw.

What the hell? that was his last thought before his mind became chaotic again, his whole body dropping to the ground with a loud thud. By now it was covered in a black fur.

Crack!

His face and ears became elongated, changing their original shapes. His whole teeth began sinking into his gums, disappearing instantly. Later two long fangs grew out from the upper gum where the canines used to be located. Another two fangs grew out of the lower gum which previously bore his canines. The cracking of his bones continued for some seconds before stopping, revealing a huge rabid dog like creature the height of an average teenage. Its eyes were brown in colour and glowing, glaring through the dark night as it let out a deep growl from its throat.

But the truth was, this was not just any random dog like creature. It was a Werewolf! A real life Werewolf! Daniel's transformation into a Werewolf had been complete but then he had lost his consciousness, giving birth to another consciousness which was filled with animalistic savagery and monstrosity—a Werewolf filled with bloodlust and rage.

Crash!

The Werewolf dashed through the glass window, shattering it. Shards of glass accompanied it as it landed on the ground with a loud thud, growling loudly before dashing out of the compound in rage like a blur.

Cough! Cough!

A man coughed as he spread out his hands over the flames of fire burning brightly. A wild boar was hung over some sticks, roasting with a sizzling sound over the burning logs of wood. A rich aroma of pepper, salt and other spices were dispelled from the roasting boar, filling the whole atmosphere.

This man was seated alone in the woods, a rifle by his side. A large backpack was hung across his back, his feet cladded in a pair of leather boots. The flames of fire illuminated his face, revealing a lanky man with freckles on his face. He had a jet black hair and eyes which had twinkles of adventure and mischief in them. No doubt, he was a hunter and his name was Eden.

Shit, why didn't I come out with a sweater tonight? Eden complained as he looked back at himself in frustration, his entire body shivering in cold. He was dressed in a black shirt with a black bullet proof vest across it, a pair of black pants worn across his legs.

"As a hunter, is this what I'm supposed to wear in a cold night?" he asked himself. He couldn't help but let out a self deprecating chuckle, amused that he had been so stupid that night. Well, at least he got a kill. He stared back at the boar roasting over the fire. At least he caught something for his family.

Pant? Scratch? Rattle?

At that time he heard some sounds coming from around him. Another boar? he thought as he picked up his rifle, standing up. As a hunter he was very much alert of his surrounding and could not be caught aware of any animal.

Growl!

He heard a deep growl as a huge wolf-like animal walked out of the shadows towards him, its eyes glowing brown. It growled again, revealing its four big fangs.

"Shit!" Eden cussed as he immediately pulled the trigger, firing at the creature. He had heard several tales about this creature and he knew what it was. It was a Lycanthrope!

Whoosh!

The creature moved in a blur, dodging the bullet as it disappeared into the shadows. It evaded another series of bullets fired by Eden and immediately appeared behind him, leaping towards him.

Eden was taken unaware and didn't know when he was pounced upon by the Lycanthrope, his whole body sent crashing down. Before he could react the Lycanthrope had bit down on his chest, yanking out a bloody heart from it.

But the tales were fake, Eden thought amidst an unbearable pain as he saw his own heart beating in the mouth of the Lycanthrope, dripping with blood. That was the last thing he saw before he died.

The Lycanthrope chewed the heart immediately, blood dripping down its mouth. It didn't stop there and proceeded to chew away other parts of Eden till what was left of his corpse was an unrecognizable bloody mess of flesh and blood.

The Lycanthrope then stood up on its hind legs and let out a loud howl which filled the whole woods.
