Ms. Amelia stared at Jason in shock as he turned about to leave, she immediately shouted out after him
“You’re expelled Jason, expelled!!!
But Jason didn’t turn back as he continued walking forward but if he’d turned back to look he would have seen a hint of guilt in Ms. Amelia’s eyes.
He walked out of the office, head held high and with a calm look on his face, he grabbed his bag off the secretary’s desk and stared into her eyes which were filled with shock before leaving, she must have heard everything that transpired in the office. The secretary felt a shiver run through her when she stared into those eyes of his. As Jason walked down the hallway he saw Alex and the gang along with Jessica staring at him with a smug look on their faces, other students were whispering as he walked, he wondered how the news of his expulsion traveled so far. He walked toward the exit but stopped and turned toward Alex and stared in a cold whisper barely above a whisper
“One day I’ll be back and I’ll make you forget this day, all of you even if I have to sell my soul to the devil I’ll pay you back in full”, he swept his gaze across all of them resting it on Jessica as she looked down, he turned to leave but Jessica shouted after him much to the displeasure of Alex
“Wait_”
”I hope you are happy I understand now the difference between you and I so no need to pretend to be sorry the games over and I’m happy for you, the two of you deserve each other” Jason said and laughed as he left, a laugh that sounded hollow without any mirth that made all those who heard it feel a chill down their spine even though most won’t admit it.
Jason got home and unlocked the door walking into the house, he went to the kitchen and had a drink of water while thinking about the events of the day, the strange voice in his head, the eerie calm, and coldness he felt but when he thought about how he got expelled and how he’d lost his temper like that he got confused cause he was sure that wasn’t something he’d normally do.
‘Isn’t this better, those people don’t respect nor want you there so why bother allowing them to walk over you like that, with your intelligence any school will be glad to have you’.
[Yes I did nothing wrong, I’ve taken their bullshit enough]
‘Now sleep and in the morning everything will be just fine, then we’ll talk about how to help you get revenge’
Jason went to his room, fell on his bed, and went to sleep as a voice whispered gently.
‘Don’t worry darling, you’re far better than these mortals and soon they shall all kneel to you’
*Bang* Jason woke up with a start to see as his father walked into his room
“What is the meaning of this Jason!”, his father yelled
“Oh dad you’re home, I thought you were gonna take at least 3 days”
That was the plan until I got a call saying that my son attacked the son of the multi-billionaire Mr. Owen over a girl and when he was punished flipped off the principal and got himself expelled!!!, Jason’s father was seriously pissed but oddly Jason felt that chill behind his eyes again and felt only calm as his father went on a tirade about what this would do with his career, and reputation. He answered in a calm almost cold voice
“I didn’t do anything” while staring him in the eye. Now, his father was quite unsettled by this as Jason never looked him in the eye, and that oddly calm voice of his sent a chill down his spine
“I don’t care what you did or didn’t do you will go back to that school tomorrow and apologize publicly to his son and the headmistress, I’ve spoken to his father he says if you do this he will help you with the whole expulsion thing
No, I’m never going back to that place and I’d rather die than apologize to Alex
Enough, so what if you got bullied a little take it like a man do you know what completing that school will do for me this is my ticket back to the upper class, I have too much riding on this for you to ruin this for me
‘Now what will you do boy’
[Who are you, you’re not that other voice], thought Jason as this voice sounded older and held authority as if he was speaking with a King, it made him want to kneel from just hearing it
‘You’re right I’m not and that other voice would be my daughter’
[And what do you and your daughter want from me]
‘That depends on your choice, you see I have a proposition for you, my daughter thinks you will be up to the task but I highly doubt it but I will give you a chance depending on what you do in this decisive moment, so choose, impress me boy’
“Are you even listening to me Jason” his father said
“Yes father and I refuse I am sick and tired of you using my life to try to further your goals, this is my life and I’ll live it how I want so the answer is ‘No’ I’m not going back to that place” Jason said coldly as the coldness inside his eyes increased
“Not under my roof for as long as you live under my roof you do as I say”, his father said angrily as his face was so red it almost look purple
“Then I’ll leave” Jason said as he turned to walk up the stairs to pack his bags. His father felt so insulted that he just lost it as he took hold of his shoulder turned him around and lifted up his hand to slap him, but just as his palm was about to hit him Jason held unto his wrist effectively stopping him before it hit him. He stared into his fathers eyes as he looked as if he’d just seen a ghost
“Make no mistake you don’t own me anymore, and the next time you try to hit me, you might just lose this hand of yours remember I’m not a child anymore” Jason said as he turned and walked back upstairs
His father walked down the stairs with and ashen face, he poured himself some whiskey as he sat down trying to convince himself what he saw was just and illusion and that the light was playing tricks on his eyes but he couldn’t get out of his head how Jason got the strength to catch his hand with one arm and that too just as he was about to hit him plus looking at the bruise on his wrist that strength and speed was not ordinary but what shocked him most was his eyes, because in that moment when Jason caught his hand the sclera of his eye turned completely black and the green irises were glowing brightly
Jason packed all his belongings in a bag and slung it over his shoulders. He didn’t have much, just a few clothes, a laptop and that’s it. He took his savings and walked downstairs, he saw his father drinking again but didn’t mind him as he headed for the door. Just as he opened the door and was about to step out he heard his father say,“Walk out that door and you’re no longer my son”“I never was”, Jason replied and slammed the door as he stepped out.The air was chilly as he stepped into the evening air, the sun was setting over the horizon. He boarded the bus to a cheap hotel close by to sleep and think about what to do going forward. His savings could probably afford a week’s stay at the hotel but then what, just as he was still deliberating he remembered the voice and wondered where it was now and if it was still watching.‘Impressive, you really are gifted and bold, you finally stood up for yourself without wavering under the threats of your father’[ What do you mean gifted]‘
Jason opens his eyes to a dimly lit cave, he immediately sits up and checks himself to find that he has no injuries and that he was fine causing him to let out a relieved sigh. He looks around himself to see that the cave he is in is a little damp and narrow and that there was only a single path that leads downwards. Jason with little to no options decides to move forward along the path slowly, he noticed how the cave seemed to widen and become larger as he continued forward and as his eyes began to adjust to the dim lightening in the cave, he began to notice more details on the walls of the cave. It was unclear whether anything lived in the cave and so Jason moved slowly and carefully afraid of making too much noise. He tried talking to the voice in his head but it was unresponsive and oddly silent. After what felt like hours of walking, Jason noticed a glow ahead and as he approached it he could make out the sound of water dripping, and the cave gradually opening up into an enormous
"And who are you, old man" Jason inquired in an even tone, sclera still black as night as he stared at the old man."I am known as the dark one, the God of all that is dark and shunned in this world by the so-called light, and my followers follow the path of darkness", the old man asked as he bowed slightly."I sense in you a yearning for power, a hunger to control and not bow to another. Those that walk my path certainly find it""Huh, so you are some evil God in need of followers, offering a devil's deal?"" My followers are often treated as villains, with no moral code or compass, but one must know that just because one follows the dark and lives for oneself and desires does not make one inherently evil, it's just a matter of perspective. One is not good just because he is a hero or said to be a priest of light, why then must my followers conform to the rules and so-called social norms that others set. Every human in this world desire something, no one is perfect not even the so-ca
The world snapped into existence around Jason and he found himself standing in a town.It took him a moment to get his bearings, as his head stopped spinning. He noticed the medieval look of the city he found himself in. It kind of reminded him of fantasy MMORPG games. He could feel a gentle breeze on his skin and could make out the noise given off by the activities going on in the city. Looking up into the sky, he could tell by the position of the sun that it was around midday. He looked around him to realize he was standing in some kind of alleyway between two buildings. He took notice of his simple brown trousers and cloth shirt he wore and as far as he could tell he had no weapons on him.Jason exited the alleyway to a courtyard of some sort that had a single exit and a burly guard posted on each side. The two guards wore leather armor and their faces were obscured with metal helmets. Each guard held a spear and had a leather belt around their waist that held a dagger sheathed int
Jason entered the tavern to see countless people inside with violent laughter erupting among the patrons from time to time as they went about their conversations. There was music playing and drinks being served in mugs as waitresses moved among the patrons delivering food and drinks. As Jason stood there in the doorway observing the place, a heavy hand landed on his shoulder. He felt like his legs were going to buckle from the weight alone when he heard a voice behind him“You’re small,”As Jason turned, he saw a giant of a man with a huge barrel on his shoulder staring down at him. He wore sleeveless leather armor with a huge battle hammer slung across his back and Jason could swear the man was at least seven feet tall.“Don’t mind Tom. His etiquette leaves much to be desired, but he means well.” A smallish man said from Jason’s side as the now identified Tom moved past Jason. Jason turned to get a better look at the smallish man who had spoken to see him wearing clothes of varying s
A few months later In the underground hideout of Sly’s tavern, two figures were engaged in a deadly dance. They rushed at each other ferociously as their daggers clashed against each other, Sly maneuvered around Jason with grace and flexibility as Jason moved nimbly dodging the attacks as they came. Sly went in for a kick to the head which Jason flipped away from while simultaneously releasing several throwing knives at him. He avoided and parried with little movements as he continued on with his assault, Jason tried his best to fend off his strikes, till his legs were kicked out from under him and a dagger was placed in front of him pointing at his throat. “Well done Jason, you have finally completed your training, although there is much I want to teach you we don’t have enough time and this should be enough to prevent you from getting killed too quickly” he said “ Thank you Sylvester for everything, I might actually miss you when I’m gone”, Jason said with a smile as he stood up.
The woman stood facing Jason. Her face was a mask of darkness as black energy curled around her arms and body with ominous red eyes. Jason felt chills looking at her. “Who are you”, she questioned as Jason stood there unable to speak due to the sheer overwhelming aura of power she emanated. “You better speak quickly young man. Who are you, and why are you here?” The woman motioned towards the pile of body parts as she spoke again “You don’t seem like you are with these two, otherwise you would already be dead” Jason with a bit of difficulty spoke “Rex sent me. He said to find Morgana at the cemetery for the test: “You must be him then, the chosen one although I don’t see much at the moment”, Morgana said examining Jason carefully not bothering to hide her disappointment “At least you’re not squeamish about killing and you have good spirit and ambition,” she says noticing his eyes “You’ll need it” Jason watched the woman carefully as her aura dissipated and the lingering energy
Jason had been watching the stables for over an hour. He was crouched out of sight in the second story of a partially collapsed building across the street from the stable. Onyx the crow, yes he had named the crow as it seemed to not want to leave him alone, had spent the last hour chasing critters nearby and was currently resting on his shoulder. He had picked out Miriam almost immediately as a portly middle-aged woman who carried a riding crop in one hand and a handkerchief in the other, marching around and giving others to the workers as they worked around the stable. Jason upon returning from Morgana’s place had visited Rex and Sly to seek information on his target. Sly being the rogue informant he was quickly delivered. “Miriam is the stable master’s wife. She works at the stables during the day.” Sly stated. “The stable master puts his wife to work in the stables?”, Jason questioned. “She doesn’t exactly work. She acts as her husband’s assistant and mages the stable hands. I
