A Small Mishap

As the sun begins to set, Rio notices Vector is becoming more and more tired.

Rio attempts to order him to stay awake but he is unaffected.

"I guess even my servants need to tend to their needs as well."

Vector begins to fall asleep in the driver's seat as the SUV veers off of the dirt path.

Rio panics and quickly summons Zack to take the wheel.

Zack takes over for Vector as he is placed into the void.

The SUV manages to get back onto the road but not without problem.

Zack slams his foot down onto the gas pedal causing the car to speed through the narrow path.

Rio's face is in shock, forgetting to tell Zack to stop as the car begins to approach a sharp turn.

"Slow down you fool!"

Rio curses in his mind at Zack's lack of driving skills.

Hearing the command, Zack takes his foot off of the gas and begins to look disturbed.

"I said to slow down!"

"Zack continues to fumble around before turning to Rio with tears in his eyes."

"Oh my god. We're going to crash. If I don't do anything to stop us, we're all gonna die." Rio says as he jumps into the front seat.

Looking down, Rio leaps onto the left pedal hard causing the car to break suddenly.

The sudden stop slams both Rio and Zack against the vehicle.

Rio slams against the underside as he hears the glass shattering above.

Zack had been flung out of the SUV and was laying on the ground outside with glass shards sticking out of him.

Shaking his head, Rio exits the SUV and goes to check on Zack.

He's not bleeding and is instead leaking water out of the wounds.

"Did he never finish his transformation?" Rio thought to himself.

Turning his outer layer to liquid, Zack removes the glass shards from his skin and stands up.

He looks apologetically towards Rio.

"Don't look at me like that , I can't believe you are such a bad driver. Then again, you were only born yesterday."

"I guess we will continue our journey on foot."

Rio turns to the mess of a car with glass shards filling the interior.

"Guess we better leave this behind" Rio mutters to himself.

Zack picks up Rio and begins walking down the path.

The two begin making their way through the path as Rio looks around.

There didn't seem to be anything of interest in the forest which became increasingly odd.

There also didn't seem to be any wild life, at least none that he could hear.

Thinking back a bit farther Rio realized that he hadn't noticed any wildlife for quite some time even before the incident.

Looking around suspiciously Rio noticed a few white markings on the trees and ground.

The frequency of these markings began increasing the further they walked.

Soon the road came to an end as they were met with a small collapsed bridge hanging over a creek.

Looking over the bridge Rio can hear a high pitched voice through the tree lines. "Halt right there peasants. Who dares to trespass into my kingdom."

Startled, Rio opens the void as Vector steps out and stands beside Zack.

"Who are you?" Vector asked.

Rio would have had Zack ask but his voice was far less threatening than Vector's.

"I am the king of this land. You may only refer to me by my title, King Jeremy the great and terrible. You shall not pass through my land unless you pay tribute."

"And if we don't want to?" Vector questions with his hand on his holster.

"Hahaha. Then you will have to answer to my loyal subjects. Minions Take them to the dungeon." Jeremy yells from beyond.

Suddenly they trio are surrounded by an army of white 2D entities. Looking closely Rio figures that these must have been the drawings that were plastered around the forest.

Vector and Zack try their best to fend off the approaching army but are easily overwhelmed.

Despite their flimsy appearance, the creatures had immense power and were easily able to restrain both Zack and Vector leaving only Rio.

The two of them are dragged away by the creatures as Jeremy begins to speak.

"That's such an adorable puppy. Bring that dog to me so that I may make it my royal hound."

One of the creatures picks up Rio by the scruff of his neck and leads him past the now lowered bridge.

"Ouch, put me down you crude drawing." Rio screams in his mind as he is carried through a thick mass of trees.

Once he they exit the brush, Rio comes face to face with a large wooden castle placed within a massive clearing in the trees.

[Clear Water]

"HQ to Vector, Come in."

...

"HQ to Vector are you there?"

HQ to team 3 Alpha, are you there."

"Team Alpha to HQ, what's the problem?"

"We have lost contact with team leader Vector. Do you have any information on his whereabouts?"

"Of course we do. Didn't you order him to sweep the perimeter of the town for any possible leaks in formation?"

"We most certainly did not issue that order. He was told to stand by until our cleanup crew could secure the serpents hand member's body. Do you have any idea on his current whereabouts?"

"Um, The last time I saw him, he had taken one of our SUV's southbound."

"Affirmative. Meet up with team 4 and follow after him. We may have a rogue operative on our hands."

"Roger that. Team 3 Alpha out."
