Chapter six
The next morning, despite feelling less refreshed than the previous days, almiron was up and ready around 8:00AM in the morning, stepping out of his room just as the alarm on his phone sounded off.Switching it off, he took a second to look towards his father’s study, taking note of how today of all days, the door remained closed. That however, did not stop him from taking a few cautious steps towards it. “Dad, I’m heading out.” He informed and waited a few seconds, hoping that his father would respond. However there was no response from him, almiron wasn’t surprised though because he’s father has done this for more than 6 years now, every year on the day his wife died he locks himself in his office and stays there for the rest of the day drowning himself with alcohol.Wasting no time he turns around and walks away and on his way out he picks up the beautiful bouquet of flowers his driver got for today, he leaves the house finally getting the fear of being driven by his driver out of his head, his driver takes him to his mother’s burial ground.Standing next to his mother’s grave stone he says“Hi mom, it’s been a year again.” .Every year almiron comes to her grave and pours out everything that happens around him, he wasn’t really that close with his dad so there were some things he couldn’t speak out to his dad. That was the only good thing that came from that awful day.“a lot has happened, but we still miss you so much.” He says while gently placing the beautiful flowers on the grave. He takes a kneel and starts explaining all the event that had happened to him and how he had just found out that he had abilities.“And the weirdest part of it all is that I might be able to do necromancy.” He saysWhile kneeling there on his own a strange idea entered he’s mind. He thinks about it for a whileSuddenly an unknown hand touched almiron shoulder, with surprise he looks up and finds out that it was zayn and maya was standing beside him.“How you holding up.” Zayn says“Thanks for coming.” He says while getting up and giving both of them a firm hug.Maya hands over the flowers she brought to almiron and he drops it on he’s mom grave.“13years.” Almiron says while looking down on the grave. They stay there a little bit longer before deciding to leave.“I know today’s not your day but c’mon let’s go see a movie, the bills on me.” Zayns says to almiron while putting his hands around his shoulders.“Would have loved too but I have somewhere to be.”“Really...where?” maya asked“Its not important, you guys go on without me.”“If you say so.” Zayn says while almost walking away.“Zee...” maya calls out“What! He said we could go.”“Seriously am good you guys have fun.” He says“you sure?” maya asked with concern“Yeah, talk to you later.” He says while walking away.“Dont worry his fine.. c’mon lets go.” Zayn says as he walks with maya.Almiron splits up with them as he heads to the bookstore............Cling....The sound of the bell as almiron walks into the store“Hi.”“Hello, good day.” The attendant at the bookstore replies backHe walks towards the various books shelves and starts searching for a particular book.It doesn’t take time until he found what he was looking for.He took the books and went ahead to make payments, the receptionist gave him a weird look when she saw the name of the book he took ‘Magic of the undead.’He makes the payment and leaves immediately. On getting home he heads to the kitchen to get some bread and on his way to his room he takes a look at his father’s office still finding the door shutHe walks into his room and closes the door behind him.“Let’s see.” He says while setting the books down and scrolling through them. While reading through the books he saw a particular sentence circled that caught his attention.“Mortui Resurgent.” He muttered out with a soft voice as he read the words out loud. Those words were rolling through his head as he picks up his phone to check the meaning, it was an ancient Greek Latin word that meant *THE DEAD RISE AGAIN.*That was the sentence that caught his attention and made him dig deeper into the book.He found the spell on page 487, a resurrection spell. He was now more motivated than ever.He starts preparing all the things he needed for the spell. He opens up his window and scattered some bread crumbs on the window as he uses it to attract a pigeon. He sits on his bed and waits for the pigeon to get in, and the pigeon did.It stood there on the window slowly pecking on the bread crumbs. He calmly stretched his hands out and the bird flew on it and immediately it did so almiron started killing the bird slowly as he suck the life out of it.The pigeon immediately fell lifeless to the floor, and then almiron goes down on his knees as he closes his eyes and took a deep breath. At that moment he slowly remembers a death image of his mother as he exhales and slowly opens his eyes.Almiron eyes were glowing green as he looks down onto the bird, he stretched his hands forward and touched the bird whispering"Mortui resurgent."And at once the bird sprang to life again and flapped its wings, almiron was overwhelmed at this point as a smile spreads across his face, he had confirmed the fact that he was truly a necromancer.“Whoa.. I did it.” Says almironThe bird flew up and started flying around his room in a circle for sometime as he watched. The pigeon finally landed on his desk and with a smile on his face he got up and walked closer to the bird but as he was just about to touch it he noticed something weird. He looked straight into the eyes of the pigeon and noticed the eyes was blank white, he moved his finger forward and touched the pigeon, he could feel it was alive and breathing but there was no reaction. There was something missing from the bird, its soul maybe?.... nobody knew, all he knew was that the bird did not come back the same.He picked the pigeon up and opened his window as the bird flies away.Knock knock!!His room door opens as his house help enters to let him know that dinner was ready.Suddenly she froze there on the spot as her heart and mind were suddenly filled with fear.He turns back and asks"What is it hilda?""D-Dinner." She replies"Oh ok I'll be there."As the house help left his room she felt her hands shaking in fear even tho she did not know why.*~~*Daxon entered his apartment with some groceries dropping them on the dinner table as he takes off his coat.He takes a look at the picture he kept on the table as almiron, zayn and maya were in the photo accept that maya was circled with a green marker indicating that he would come for maya next."You're next." He says with a wicked smile.Almiron was about to go down for dinner but he decided to wash his face first. He enters the bathroom and looks at his reflection in the mirror. He looked closely and his eyes began to glow bright green again, then it happened again. The disgusting foul scent of a dead person filled the bathroom as almiron looked to his left through the mirror noticing a little girl standing beside the toilet. But this time it was different, almiron was not scared this time.He turned around and looked the spirit straight in the eyes as his was still glowing. This time he knew that seeing spirits from the other side was a normal process as he had educated himself a little about necromancy. He could hear a soft mutter from the spirit "help me..." she said with a soft voice as she raised her small arms."Hmmm." He was about backing away when he heard."The darkness..." she called again and at that moment almiron noticed that her neck was twisted to the side."What in the world happened to you.""The darkness." She repeatedThen almiron noticed her eyes, those cold, lifeless, empty eyes.Blank white like the pigeon he brought back to life.He couldn't hold back his curiosity anymore, he wanted to know what she meant by darkness. While taking a step towards her he was about asking her whenKnock knock!!!Hilda knocked at the door."Sir...you coming."Almiron immediately looked back with the bright green colour of his eyes fading out, he wasn't sure if the spirit was still there and when he turned back the spirit was gone.He walked back to the sink and washes his face and headed down for dinner.Chapter seven Psssssssch!!!Almiron opens up a can of cola as he sat alone at the eatery. He takes a sip and as he puts the can of soda down his eyes were glowing bright green again. He looks around the eatery and noticed that they were a lot of spirits there, that wasn't a new thing for him as he had gotten used to the fact that he could see the dead, at that very moment strange thoughts started to go through his head as he asks himself questions. 'Its not a good idea to talk to spirits, you never know which is good and which is bad."'What if a spirit possessed me and I don't know?''Are my memories really my own, could they be someone elses?'He started to get worried about what could possibly happen if he talks to a spirit, but at the same time, the desire to communicate with them grew more and more. His thoughts were interrupted as he heard someone coming up from behind him."You just couldn't wait."Almiron turned around and found out it was zayn "
Chapter eightAlmiron's powers had increased immensely throughout the course of the past few days. He had grown his hair long and silk. However the constant use of his powers also came with a price. It was slowly taking away his humanity. The more he used his powers the more he felt some part of him disappear. And this strange feeling was already getting to his head.Pride started to flood his mind as He would often find himself talking to himself in the mirror. His powers were making him a narcissist. He had even given himself the title of ‘ lord almiron'. He would spend hours every day, sitting and admiring his own body, often referring to himself as close to a god given that the power of life and death are in his hands. But the dark spirits he sees wanted more. They wanted him to be consumed by the power he possessed. They wanted him to lose touch of everything he ever cared for and it looked like they were succeeding. He no longer cared about what he did.H
Chapter nine "Killed me?" Maya asked Daxon grabs a hold of maya's neck and before she knew it he started choking her."Wh-what are you doing?" She manages to say."Do me a favour, say hello to my sister for me." With his other hand daxon put his hand in a shadow portal and brings out a knife.Maya struggles and tries to break free of his hold but daxon grip was just to strong for her to do so.He uses the knife and stabs her right in her heart.Maya starts coughing out blood as her eyes start rolling in the back of her head.A sick smile appeared on daxon face as he continues to choke her as her life slips away. Her eyes turn completely white as the life in her fades away.He threw her lifeless body on the floor as he stood up above her looking down with disgust on his face. His attention was quickly taken as there was a black hooded figure standing outside his window watching everything. Then before he could move the figure wasn't there again. He walks up to his win
Chapter ten“I am so deeply sorry about what am about to do to you, I hope where ever you are you can forgive me.” He says to mayas lifeless body After saying that Almiron immediately puts his big thumb in his mouth then cuts himself open with his teeth. He then draws the fleur de lis symbol on the side of the young girls head which is where the brain is at.This will let him gain access to all of mayas memories and even her thoughts. After drawing it he starts mumbling and ancient resurrection spell as he called upon the forces of death to answer his call.“Gal ada mu ra luta.” While mumbling the spell this drew the attention of the undead.Spirits that were wondering around here on earth began to gather around him.A dark aura suddenly surrounded him as his eyes began to glow green.“Maya,” Almiron whispered, his voice barely more than a breath. “Can you hear me?”Then it happened Maya’s eyes sprung wide open as she started breathing again.Though she was able to move and she was
Chapter eleven Almiron made his way to the university cafeteria, his heart still racing from the encounter with Daxon. He needed to talk to Zayn, to explain everything that had happened and prepare him for the dangers that lay ahead. As he entered the bustling cafeteria, he spotted Zayn sitting at a table near the window, nursing a cup of coffee. Almiron hurried over, his mind racing with thoughts of how to broach the subject.“Hey, Zayn,” Almiron greeted him, sliding into the seat opposite. “Thanks for meeting me.”Zayn looked up, a puzzled expression on his face. “No problem, man. What’s up? You seem kinda on edge.”Almiron took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say. “Zayn, there’s something I need to tell you. It’s... it’s going to sound crazy, but please hear me out.”Zayn raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “Okay, shoot. What’s going on?”Almiron glanced around to make sure no one was listening before leaning in closer. “Last night, I raised Maya fr
Chapter twelve Zayn’s words lingered in Almiron’s mind as they left the university, the weight of their conversation heavy on his shoulders. He knew that if he wanted to stand a chance against Daxon, he needed to get better with his powers, to hone his skills until he could wield them with precision and control. As they walked through the streets, Zayn suddenly stopped and turned to Almiron, a determined look in his eyes.“I have an idea,” Zayn said, his voice filled with conviction. “If you want to beat Daxon, you need to get better with your powers. And I think I know just the place to train.”Almiron raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Zayn’s suggestion. “Where?”Zayn grinned mischievously. “The graveyard.”Almiron’s eyes widened in surprise. “The graveyard? Why there?”Zayn shrugged. “Think about it, Almiron. The graveyard is filled with death and darkness, the perfect environment for you to practice your necromancy. Plus, it’s away from prying eyes, so we won’t have to worry about
Chapter thirteen As Almiron woke up and got ready for another day at campus, he exchanged a warm greeting with his father before heading out the door. The morning sun cast a golden glow over the sprawling mansion as Almiron stepped outside, breathing in the crisp air of the new day.“Good morning, Father,” Almiron said with a smile as he passed by his father’s study.“Good morning, Almiron. Have a great day at campus,” his father replied, returning the smile.Almiron nodded, his mind already focused on the day ahead. He made his way to the waiting car, where his driver stood by the open door, ready to escort him to campus.“Good morning young master,” the driver greeted him with a nod.“Morning,” Almiron replied, sliding into the backseat of the luxurious car.“Campus, please,” he instructed the driver, settling back into his seat as the car pulled away from the mansion and onto the familiar streets of the city.As Almiron settled into the plush seat of his father’s luxurious car,
Chapter fourteen Just as the masked sniper left.Almiron staggered back to his mansion, his body aching from the wounds inflicted by Daxon’s dark shadows. His father rushed to his side, concern etched on his face as he took in Almiron’s injuries.“Almiron, what happened? Are you alright?” his father exclaimed, his voice filled with worry.Almiron forced a weak smile, trying to mask the pain that coursed through his body. “I’m fine, Father,” he replied, his voice strained. “It’s just a scratch. There was an incident with our driver. He was shot, and I got a few bruises in the process.”His father’s eyes widened with alarm. “Shot? Is he alright? And who would do such a thing?”Almiron nodded, weaving a convincing tale to explain away his injuries. “ Unfortunately he didn’t make it. As for who did it, I’m not sure. It happened so suddenly.”His father’s concern deepened, but he nodded in understanding. “Well, I’m just glad you’re safe, Almiron. We’ll get to the bottom of this.”Almir
