Chapter 66

Once they were clear of the facility, the group let out a sigh of relief, “Thank god,” Kiara whispered with a shaky breath. Jade nodded silently and remained in his seat, trying not to think about what just happened. He glanced over at Kiara who seemed to be deep in thoughts herself. He decided that he should speak to her later. He wasn't ready to talk about whatever just happened yet. He sighed deeply and stared out the window, watching as the scenery of the desert grew larger. The sun started setting and soon darkness fell upon the horizon. Jade glanced over at Kiara once more, he could feel a strong urge to hold her in his arms and never let go.

Meanwhile, opposite the powerhouse the man who warned them of the creature standing above the rooftop with his binoculars. And his dog beside him. As he watched Jade and Kiara leave he smiled. They must have escaped. Now, they will not interfere again or even attempt to free Jade from this situation.
