~~~After a moment, Collin awoke again. This time he realized he wasn't alone. Two people stood over him, both dressed in police uniforms. They were speaking quietly to each other in hushed voices and pointing their guns at him. "Who do you work for?" one asked him. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat. "Answer us boy!"The other shot him once in the chest causing Collin's breath to catch. The wound bled freely and the smell burned his nostrils. It took all of his effort not to pass out. The zombie next to him lowered her weapon. She kneeled in front of him and placed her large hands on either side of his face forcing him to meet her eyes."Please don't hurt him," she said gently squeezing his cheeks as though pleading with the man in the suit to stop. "He doesn't mean no harm."The man nodded curtly to indicate that she could continue.She let go of his face and stood up. She walked past Collin and knelt beside the dead man laying next to him. She checked the pul
His mother cried, begging him not to die. His father stood in front of him, hugging him and promising he would always be there for him. His aunt, uncle, and cousin laughing and joking together. Pictures of a younger version of himself laughing with his sister. A tear slid down his face as he touched the scars running along his cheekbone. The memory of his dad, holding him close with worry in his eyes and telling him he was strong. The image of his mom and aunt kissing him goodbye, their faces filled with sadness. And finally the picture of himself getting beaten by the man in black. He could feel his eyes welling up with fresh tears as the images started fading away. His vision blurred. The sound of the wind blowing passed him became deafening. The image of his parents was gone, replaced with an image of himself and another man with blonde hair and glasses. He could see that same look in his eyes, the same fear. Collin shook his head violently trying to clear away these horrible tho
creating a dim light. They illuminated the small space beautifully, making the room seem more inviting than ever before. However, Collin wasn’t in the mood to appreciate the beauty of the room.He sat himself down on the couch next to the TV and stared blankly at the TV screen. He could see his reflection standing near the fireplace. His skin was a bit pale and thin looking; it made him look very frail, and there were dark circles under his eyes. He noticed a large bruise forming on his right jaw.There was silence throughout the entire room except for the sounds of the fire crackling and the rain pouring onto the roof. When it began to grow darker, Collin decided it was time to get ready for class.When he arrived downstairs, Mr. Jones was already waiting for him.“Good morning, Mr. Jones,” he greeted politely as he handed him his backpack.Mr. Jones nodded, “Have a good first day. Your classes will start tomorrow. We will talk about this later once your classes have begun.”Collin n
He quickly climbed out of bed and made his way to the door to open it. His eyes widened when he saw who it was. It was Mrs. Tiffany."Mrs. Tiffany?" he asked surprised.She stepped into his house with a confused expression on her face, "Yes, Collin. It's me.""You're...you're here," he said dumbfounded.She held up a bag, "I brought you an outfit for tonight. Since it's your first lesson, I thought you might want something nicer than jeans and a T-shirt.""Why?"Mrs. Tiffany frowned at him, "Because you look terrible, and I know that Mr. Jones told you to wear nice clothes every single day," she stated, her voice raising a few degrees higher.Collin rubbed his head, "I know…"Mrs. Tiffany glared at him as she walked closer to him, "Well? Aren't you going to change?"Collin shook his head, "Um…no…it's okay.""Are you sure? This is important to you, isn't it?"Collin nodded, "It's just...not exactly my style."Mrs. Tiffany sighed and said, "Well, it's the only thing I could come up with
Collin, Mrs. Tiffany, and the other combatants entered an abandoned factory filled with Zombies. They were going to find the source of the infection. This was their last chance before it infected them all.The door flew off its hinges as a huge, white beast jumped out from behind some boxes. It screeched like a madman. Everyone was too scared to react at first. Mrs. Tiffany ran towards Collin in hopes that he could catch her. Collin grabbed her, but she wasn't fast enough. She tripped over one of the Zombie's feet and landed on a pile of metal. The thing roared and threw himself over the top of Collin to attack. The Zombie bit into Collin's hand. He screamed and fell backward onto the floor. Collin watched the beast fall off him. He crawled away from the monster, but the pain wasn't going to stop him. When he turned around, the creature had fallen on the ground beside him. He didn't know why, but this felt familiar. As he got up, the creature grabbed his ankle and pulled him dow
Nobody was walking around either. Nothing but dead bodies everywhere."Here we go, Mr. Hyde," said Mrs. Tiffy after she hung up.Mr. Hyde took out his cell phone once more and dialed the phone number that had just come up on the screen."Is there any news?" he asked in German."I have just spoken with a neighbor. Yes, they believe that there may be a patient hiding in the basement of room 410. He is still alive buttttt in severe pain. Have seen a man being carried by a couple of paramedics.""What was his name?"After he got the address, he quickly hung up the phone."Okay, I know the address," he said. "But how are we supposed to find the patient if all the doors are locked? Maybe the neighbor is right. Maybe he is hiding in a house somewhere..."He paused a moment."But what if we just look through every room on the first floor?""If that's how you want to play it," said Mrs. Tiffy.Before he could say anything more, Mr. Hyde's cell phone rang again. He answered it once more."Yes",
At Dawn, Collin left Mrs.Tiffany to look for a place safer in the apocalypse world already stuck with supplies that could take him through weeks in the draught. He was not going to waste his time and energy trying to find another safe bunker if they all just got slaughtered at every turn. The sooner he found someone who could get him past the zombies he’d come across on his journey, the faster he could go back out into the open world.As soon as he reached his destination, though, he felt an unnatural chill crawl down his spine. He looked around wildly, searching for the source of it until he saw something glowing up ahead from the ground. “What the hell?” he muttered, taking tentative steps closer to see what it was. It looked like the light he’d seen on the horizon when he first woke up in this strange new world. A flashlight perhaps? Or a beacon of hope that told him he’d finally reach civilization? Or both?He cautiously picked up the pace, hoping whatever it was didn’t have any
"I'm sorry. I'll stop walking around now. See you around.""Wait-" he started.But Collin had already turned on his heel and was hurrying back far away as fast as possible. He escaped the cop...passing by a few zombies that tried grabbing him and running into the woods before finally returning to his own home.After getting changed, Collin climbed into his bed with exhaustion creeping in. The day had been pretty exhausting, and he still had a headache. The last thing he heard before falling asleep was the sound of distant screaming echoing in the distance.Collin woke up with a start, startled awake by a loud banging sound coming from somewhere above him. The sound continued for quite some time until suddenly, it stopped. He slowly sat up on his bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, and yawned as he looked out of his window. The sun had just risen, and birds were chirping happily in the bushes and trees outside.It seemed as though no one was out there yet, however. There was nothi
