COLLIN POV I walked the lonely street of New York with blood dripping down my bat, since the apocalypse I have never had any good rest and I hope this ends soon. I was fully alerted in case of any zombies. I entered an abandoned Shopping mall, I sighted a body which already decayed laying on the floor. I sighed as I kept walking into the shopping mall taking every bottle and snack that could take me to survive for a few weeks.The whole place smelled like moldy meat and dead bodies. I looked around trying to find a place to go and finally, I spotted some food stalls.I went up to one of them and took the only edible thing inside of it. It was chicken.I walked out of the market not even knowing how long I'd been there and decided to sleep somewhere until my head hurts enough to make me forget where I am or what happened.I went through the streets and the entire time I just stared at the sky watching how the clouds passed by slowly. “Hey hands up" I heard someone yell to me,
I got home and ate something. I was really tired and hungry and it hurt to walk straight but I couldn't waste another day in this state.I took off my shoes and went upstairs. After closing my bedroom door, I climbed under the covers falling asleep instantly.When I woke up I noticed that everything felt different, like the world wasn't the same and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. The bed felt more comfortable than usual and so did my clothes, I was wearing something much lighter, more comfortable and softer compared to the last time I had been in my old bedroom. I also noticed that the air felt better too.I thought about waking up everyone to talk but then remembered that we would all be dead soon, I didn't want them worrying about me while their alive. I didn't want to think about all the things that are going to happen when everyone's corpses decompose on these roads and in these stores. So I decided to stay silent and enjoy everything.For a while everything seemed perfec
Collin was awakened by the alarm. With a groan, he sat up on his bed and looked at the clock. It was only six in the morning; he had to start getting ready for work or he wouldn't have time to eat before coming back home. He threw on some clean clothes and brushed his teeth and hair before leaving the apartment. He enters the street of New York ignoring the corpses that lay On the road a d avoiding being seen by zombies in front of him. His eyes are focused on the sidewalk as he walks to the subway station and when he arrives he gets on an empty train and sits down facing the door. His head rested against the cool glass window of the doors trying to get his mind off of what happened the night before. After ten minutes or so of silent contemplation, Collin starts to worry about the safety of his family members, but he still seeks to look for his missing family. Suddenly he sighed a zombie in a train ticketer uniform heading towards him looking him directly in the eye. When they mad
~~~After a moment, Collin awoke again. This time he realized he wasn't alone. Two people stood over him, both dressed in police uniforms. They were speaking quietly to each other in hushed voices and pointing their guns at him. "Who do you work for?" one asked him. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat. "Answer us boy!"The other shot him once in the chest causing Collin's breath to catch. The wound bled freely and the smell burned his nostrils. It took all of his effort not to pass out. The zombie next to him lowered her weapon. She kneeled in front of him and placed her large hands on either side of his face forcing him to meet her eyes."Please don't hurt him," she said gently squeezing his cheeks as though pleading with the man in the suit to stop. "He doesn't mean no harm."The man nodded curtly to indicate that she could continue.She let go of his face and stood up. She walked past Collin and knelt beside the dead man laying next to him. She checked the pul
His mother cried, begging him not to die. His father stood in front of him, hugging him and promising he would always be there for him. His aunt, uncle, and cousin laughing and joking together. Pictures of a younger version of himself laughing with his sister. A tear slid down his face as he touched the scars running along his cheekbone. The memory of his dad, holding him close with worry in his eyes and telling him he was strong. The image of his mom and aunt kissing him goodbye, their faces filled with sadness. And finally the picture of himself getting beaten by the man in black. He could feel his eyes welling up with fresh tears as the images started fading away. His vision blurred. The sound of the wind blowing passed him became deafening. The image of his parents was gone, replaced with an image of himself and another man with blonde hair and glasses. He could see that same look in his eyes, the same fear. Collin shook his head violently trying to clear away these horrible tho
creating a dim light. They illuminated the small space beautifully, making the room seem more inviting than ever before. However, Collin wasn’t in the mood to appreciate the beauty of the room.He sat himself down on the couch next to the TV and stared blankly at the TV screen. He could see his reflection standing near the fireplace. His skin was a bit pale and thin looking; it made him look very frail, and there were dark circles under his eyes. He noticed a large bruise forming on his right jaw.There was silence throughout the entire room except for the sounds of the fire crackling and the rain pouring onto the roof. When it began to grow darker, Collin decided it was time to get ready for class.When he arrived downstairs, Mr. Jones was already waiting for him.“Good morning, Mr. Jones,” he greeted politely as he handed him his backpack.Mr. Jones nodded, “Have a good first day. Your classes will start tomorrow. We will talk about this later once your classes have begun.”Collin n
He quickly climbed out of bed and made his way to the door to open it. His eyes widened when he saw who it was. It was Mrs. Tiffany."Mrs. Tiffany?" he asked surprised.She stepped into his house with a confused expression on her face, "Yes, Collin. It's me.""You're...you're here," he said dumbfounded.She held up a bag, "I brought you an outfit for tonight. Since it's your first lesson, I thought you might want something nicer than jeans and a T-shirt.""Why?"Mrs. Tiffany frowned at him, "Because you look terrible, and I know that Mr. Jones told you to wear nice clothes every single day," she stated, her voice raising a few degrees higher.Collin rubbed his head, "I know…"Mrs. Tiffany glared at him as she walked closer to him, "Well? Aren't you going to change?"Collin shook his head, "Um…no…it's okay.""Are you sure? This is important to you, isn't it?"Collin nodded, "It's just...not exactly my style."Mrs. Tiffany sighed and said, "Well, it's the only thing I could come up with
Collin, Mrs. Tiffany, and the other combatants entered an abandoned factory filled with Zombies. They were going to find the source of the infection. This was their last chance before it infected them all.The door flew off its hinges as a huge, white beast jumped out from behind some boxes. It screeched like a madman. Everyone was too scared to react at first. Mrs. Tiffany ran towards Collin in hopes that he could catch her. Collin grabbed her, but she wasn't fast enough. She tripped over one of the Zombie's feet and landed on a pile of metal. The thing roared and threw himself over the top of Collin to attack. The Zombie bit into Collin's hand. He screamed and fell backward onto the floor. Collin watched the beast fall off him. He crawled away from the monster, but the pain wasn't going to stop him. When he turned around, the creature had fallen on the ground beside him. He didn't know why, but this felt familiar. As he got up, the creature grabbed his ankle and pulled him dow
Hours later the ship was heading towards a car junk as a ship horned loudly, signaling the end of their journey. Roy turns to look at Kori as she stands up, “Let’s go” she said while walking toward the door leading below deck. Roy gets up and starts following her, keeping his distance from everyone else, knowing that they have many questions they want to be answered.When they arrive at the bottom of the stairs, Kori opens the door to one of the rooms, entering before Roy. Roy quickly follows her inside the room and closes the door behind them. He stops walking and turns around to face Kori, “So where do I begin?” he said.“How about the beginning” Kori suggests.“Alright….so let me start by asking you a question...why do you think I’m going to stay here...when I should be trying to find a way out,” Roy asks.“There is a good chance that this mission will turn into a battle. If we stay here until then, the army will capture and use you as a bargaining chip. While that may seem harsh,
“You never did tell me about the explosion," Roy asked while staring at kori “You saved us...you saved the entire city," Kori replies. “From what?” he asked while staring directly at Kori with the image of a lady flashing before his eyes. Kori walks closer to him while kissing him gently on the kisser. Roy closes his eyes and kisses her back, savoring every moment with her. The two continue to enjoy each other's touch, enjoying the feeling of happiness before pulling away. "I'm sorry Roy" Kori apologized quietly as she looked down. “What?” Roy asked confused by what she said “Why are you apologizing? What for?" Kori glances at Roy briefly before looking forward again “It’s just...well...we've both known that we're soulmates since birth. I don't think we’ve ever told each other that we love each other or even admitted that we were attracted to each other. Even though we knew we loved each other, we didn't say anything. We never wanted to burden the other and risk losing wh
“Okay, I need to grab something out of my backpack. Stay with me, Roy. Please!” he says while walking towards the tree and pulling out one of the many bags he’s carried around. He opens the bag and begins rummaging through it once again. Then he finds what he was looking for: a small box with a few bottles of liquid inside. He quickly runs back to Roy and kneels next to him as fast as he possibly could without losing balance. “We have to get you into my tent, alright? It’s our only chance.” He places the first bottle of saline on the ground and takes the box out of his pocket, opens it, and puts a couple of pills in his mouth. Roy watches the man drink the water in his mouth and then spit it out immediately, almost choking on it as he continues to look for the proper medication. After gulping two pills down he sets the empty bottle aside, and then picks another one up and pops it into his mouth. “Here, take this one,” he says as he hands Roy the bottle, then moves to pick him up brida
Roy could hear whispers then he opens his eyes to find himself being pulled across the hallway toward the exit that shone a bright light on his face. His body is hanging loosely from the straps of a chair. He groans slightly as he feels every movement his body makes as he is dragged across the smooth surface of the floor. He tries opening his eyes again, but he sees nothing except darkness for miles and miles. Then something hits him across the face hard. Pain shoots through his right cheek, making him close his eyes again. Then another blow. And another. Then something slams him on the back. “What kind of father do you think the general is? wanting his son dead” he could hear someone talking outHe’s thrown across the floor outside, as the got searching sun burnt through his eyes. later he hears the door close far from him, then he could hear footsteps coming closer to him. Roy stands to his feet slowly to see zombies coming towards him, he noticed also he was caged with the c
Roy wakes up to find himself floating by the side of the river all drained and wet with some glass pierced right into his stomach. His whole body feels like it’s on fire, from the waist down. The pain radiates throughout his entire body, not just his abdomen but his entire arm and leg are covered in blood. He tries to move his hand, but he can barely budge at all. A dull ache pulses through his head as well. As he stares into the dark water he notices the faint glow coming off of its surface of it, the reflection of moonlight against the dark green water. The air around him is still. Roy can hear nothing except for the sounds of his shallow breathing. Then there’s a movement out of the corner of his eye. Roy turns his head sharply as he hears footsteps approaching him. The sound doesn’t seem very loud though. Maybe they are underwater?The figure emerges out of the shadows. “What the hell happened?” says a familiar voice. That’s the guy who found him. It’s gotta be a trick of his min
When they start to get hungry, they decide to grab some lunch, deciding to eat in the cafeteria since it is the most popular place to go for lunch. They find a table outside and sit down to eat their lunch.“Have you ever been to the library before?” Trisha asks after eating.“No” Roy admits. He has always liked learning new things about other countries but there were some subjects that his father wouldn’t allow him to study. He was allowed to read historical novels about various countries, but nothing more.“I think I’d like to visit someday soon” Trisha admits “Perhaps after the festival is over”“That sounds great. Are you planning on coming here tomorrow?” Roy inquires hopefully“Maybe” Trisha responds quietly. Suddenly, Roy feels her tighten her grip on his hand. The sight causes him to turn to face her, noticing that her cheeks are bright pink.“Trisha” he says worriedly as he reaches out towards her “Is everything alright?”“Yes,” she says hurriedly “I mean yes I’m fine I’m ju
The next morning Roy wakes up from bed feeling normal, strong, and healthy. He walks out of the tent only to see several soldiers and officers walking around the area. They were dressed in uniforms, and all seemed very busy.Roy notices a woman standing near the tent. She is talking animatedly to someone who is standing behind a wooden bench. As he gets closer he recognizes the woman. She’s wearing a blue dress, and she’s chatting away with one of the guards in Arabic, both of them laughing together while pointing to something in their hands. One of the guards places a hand on the woman’s hip, and they share another laugh while leaning into each other's embrace and resting against each other for a short moment, which ends in them embracing fully. Roy looks at them for a second before turning back towards his destination. He spots the boy that he had spoken to earlier lying on the ground, still sound asleep, with a bunch of toy sheep laying nearby.The boy suddenly opens his eyes and s
