DEAD ERA- Afterworld Dm battle Phase 3
Dead Man POV I stood before the Leader of the survivor group, while he sat on a chair and was being caressed by some women beside me. “Why are you here?" the Leader asked me “I'm here for Jaden, the butcher” I answered coldlyThe Leader looked up at me with his cold dark eyes. “You know where he is?”“He's hiding in the woods” I answered and walked towards him. “I found a body near there, but I didn't see it so Jaden could be nearby. After that moment of realization, Jaden calmed down and became a human again. He fell forward and landed on his knees, he looked exhausted, defeated. A tear rolled down his cheek,“What do you want from me?” he asked with a trembling voice.“I only need you to come with me to Don, let's make this easy,” I said calmly, “Easy? do you know what is Don gonna do to me when he sees me? maybe you also are part of the” Jaden says loudly“Part of what?” I asked with a confused tone.“The Don is a crazy old guy, he will torture me until death” Jaden explained with a shaking voice.I stared at him shocked. Then I took a deep breath. My breathing had gotten a bit easier now, but I knew I was not going to live through this night unscathed. I was almost certain that one of his teeth were embedded in my skin and I could feel the blood oozing out of it. I wanted to say something or at least move. But my legs felt heavy.I heard the sound of footsteps and I knew that I was about to lose consciousness soon. I tried to get up on shaky legs, but fell back to the ground. A strong pair of arms grabbed me and helped me stand up. When I regained control of my feet, I recognized the familiar warmth. Jaden?As soon as I was able to hold his hand, I leaned into him and tried to smile. “Sorry... I didn't want to cause you trouble,” I said as I squeezed his hand softlyJaden smiled sadly, “You never had caused me trouble,” he muttered, his gaze focused on our joined handsI sighed deeply, “I hope you know that I really am sorry” I whisperedhe chuckled lightly and looked at me, “it doesn't matter anyway, everything ended happily”

COLLIN POV I walked the lonely street of New York with blood dripping down my bat, since the apocalypse I have never had any good rest and I hope this ends soon. I was fully alerted in case of any zombies. I entered an abandoned Shopping mall, I sighted a body which already decayed laying on the floor. I sighed as I kept walking into the shopping mall taking every bottle and snack that could take me to survive for a few weeks.The whole place smelled like moldy meat and dead bodies. I looked around trying to find a place to go and finally, I spotted some food stalls.I went up to one of them and took the only edible thing inside of it. I got home and ate something. I was really tired and hungry and it hurt to walk straight but I couldn't waste another day in this state.I took off my shoes and went upstairs. After closing my bedroom door, I climbed under the covers falling asleep instantly.When I woke up I noticed that everything felt different, like the world wasn't the same and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. The bed felt more comfortable than usual and so did my clothes, I was wearing something much lighter, more comfortable and softer compared to the last time I had been in my old bedroom. I also noticed that the air felt better too.I thought about waking up everyone to talk but then remembered that we would all be dead soon, I didn't want them worrying about me while their alive. I didn't want to think about all the things that are going to happen when everyone's corpses decompose on these roads and in these stores. Collin was awakened by the alarm. With a groan, he sat up on his bed and looked at the clock. It was only six in the morning; he had to start getting ready for work or he wouldn't have time to eat before coming back home. He threw on some clean clothes and brushed his teeth and hair before leaving the apartment. He enters the street of New York ignoring the corpses that lay On the road a d avoiding being seen by zombies in front of him. His eyes are focused on the sidewalk as he walks to the subway station and when he arrives he gets on an empty train and sits down facing the door. His head rested against the cool glass window of the doors trying to get his mind off of what happened the night before. After ten minutes or so of silent contemplation, Collin starts to worry about the safety of his family members, but he still seeks to look for his missing family. ~~~After a moment, Collin awoke again. This time he realized he wasn't alone. Two people stood over him, both dressed in police uniforms. They were speaking quietly to each other in hushed voices and pointing their guns at him. "Who do you work for?" one asked him. He tried to speak, but his voice caught in his throat. "Answer us boy!"The other shot him once in the chest causing Collin's breath to catch. The wound bled freely and the smell burned his nostrils. It took all of his effort not to pass out. The zombie next to him lowered her weapon. She kneeled in front of him and placed her large hands on either side of his face forcing him to meet her eyes."Please don't hurt him," she said gently squeezing his cheeks as though pleading with the man in the suit to stop. "He doesn't mean no harm."The man nodded curtly to indicate that she could continue.She let go of his face and stood up. She walked past Collin and knelt beside the dead man laying next to him. His mother cried, begging him not to die. His father stood in front of him, hugging him and promising he would always be there for him. His aunt, uncle, and cousin laughing and joking together. Pictures of a younger version of himself laughing with his sister. A tear slid down his face as he touched the scars running along his cheekbone. The memory of his dad, holding him close with worry in his eyes and telling him he was strong. The image of his mom and aunt kissing him goodbye, their faces filled with sadness. And finally the picture of himself getting beaten by the man in black. He could feel his eyes welling up with fresh tears as the images started fading away. His vision blurred. The sound of the wind blowing passed him became deafening. The image of his parents was gone, replaced with an image of himself and another man with blonde hair and glasses.
