Liz looked frightened by Paul's statement. “I think I know where we need to go now,” she tells him quietly, glancing towards the window. “There's a way out of here”They stand up and walk towards the window together. They move closer to the edge of the window but stop when the sound becomes louder. It sounds like hundreds of feet stomping across the concrete floor, accompanied by an animalistic roar, followed by the sound of breaking glass, followed by a scream. Both Liz and Paul glance over the side of the building and see several armed men running towards the building holding torches.“Shit!” Liz exclaims. “We need to run”“How?”“Follow me”Liz climbs over the ledge and jumps down. She lands with a thud on the ground below and quickly moves to hide behind a large tree trunk.
Paul follows her, grabbing a branch and carefully lowering himself onto the ground so he could reach the ground more easily. When he was safely on the ground, he stands beside Liz.“We have to find out which direction it went,” Liz says.“It might be gone," Paul warns.Liz nods, looking around the area. She points towards a small gap between two trees.“I think this might be our best chance"Paul and Liz walk forward slowly, keeping their heads low in case they encounter any enemies. After they made it about 30 meters they hear footsteps approaching from behind them.Paul pulls Liz into an alleyway and holds his hand up to silence her as he peers around the corner. He listens carefully. After several seconds the footsteps fade away and Paul slowly relaxes. Once he's certain nobody has been following them, he motions for Liz to follow him once more. They move cautiously along the alleyway toward the end.As soon as the light hits his eyes, he gasps. Liz notices the horrified look on
Liz clenches her fists tightly in frustration. “Look, I don't have time for a joke man. Just tell me where he went” she insists.“Why should I do anything for you? You're not our boss”Before Liz can react, someone comes storming up behind her and yanks her backward forcefully, sending her crashing onto the ground. She tries to struggle free of whoever had grabbed her, but it was useless. She couldn't fight back. Her captor roughly grabs her arm and lifts her until her feet dangle above the ground. Liz kicks and flails about wildly, kicking her attacker hard in the stomach. However, her attacks seem to fail. She hears him grunt, her kicks feel useless. Suddenly, something cold and hard presses itself against her throat. She freezes and her struggles cease instantly.“Don't even bother struggling,” the man snarls threateningly as his grip tightens around her neck. Liz closes her eyes and prepares herself to die.Just as suddenly, her assailant fall
“I know the creature is close by, but we need to evacuate the prisoners from the building before—” suddenly the elevator stopped moving followed by a roar that hooked the whole building. “That's the creature's rage” Liz looks at him in confusion. “Anger?” she asks. “What does that mean?"Paul glances down at Liz as the doors open with a ding and steps out. “The creature may look like a beast, but its emotions are much more complex than that. Its anger is pure rage fueled by fear, fear fueled by pain, and pain fueled by loneliness. It's driven by hate, hate-fueled by grief. That's why it's called the Beast of New York"“You must have lost your mind,” Elizabeth whispers incredulously. Paul shakes his head as they step out of the elevator and approach the cell doors. “I wouldn't say that, Liz. I wouldn't call what I saw a hallucination if it was just a hallucination. You see, the reason I said 'no one can resist being drawn to this place is that I b
The group is led through a maze of hallways and then down stairs to a basement. The room is dark and musty smelling. An old iron gate is sitting on a platform in the middle of the room and a couple of men are standing next to it. There is a large metal padlock attached to the front gate. Two guards stand guard outside the gate. A loud noise catches the group’s attention and the doors of the lift begin to slide open.Liz looks up and sees another security guard standing behind the two men, holding a gun pointed directly at them. She stares wide-eyed at the guard before quickly averting her gaze, focusing instead on the floor. After the elevator door has slid shut once again, she turns back to look at the guards. One of them smiles at her slightly, "I'm sorry Miss Jones. No visitors permitted under any circumstances." He reaches up and pats her head playfully. "I bet they'll let you through though. It's nice to see a young woman getting some exercise, hm?"The other guard smiles malicio
“You should head to Clem City and find that bastard of a son ” The Don growled out loudly while staring directly at Deadman .“Yes Sir, I'm heading there” Deadman answered and then proceeded to leave, making sure to slam the door shut behind him. He went back to his horse and mounted it quickly. He rushed climbing unto his horse as he raced to Clem city. The streets were filled with zombies, he avoided the corpses as he rode past them. They weren't paying him any attention anyway. As he neared the city, it became darker and darker, the only source of light coming from the moon. Deadman pushed his horse as fast as he could, trying to put as much distance as possible between them and the Zombie horde before him. Finally, the city came into sight, Deadman stopped his horse in front of the gates of the city. The gate was open, but nothing else. Nothing unusual. Deadman dismounted and entered the city. No zombies greeted him, and no sounds of screaming or crying echoed through the em
of the city. Perhaps to escape another zombie attack. He entered and noticed how dim it appeared compared to the outside world. The lights were all broken or missing, but he didn't care, he needed to focus on the task at hand. He searched the hallways for any signs of other people, but he found nothing. “Hello?! Anybody here?? Please respond" Deadman yelled out, he knew they were here, and they would hear him eventually, but he hoped that they didn't answer him“If anyone sees me, please come to my aid!" He shouted, still searching the halls for movement. Eventually, he decided to go upstairs to where they stored the bodies to search for survivors. After checking every hallway and room in the building, he decided he couldn't continue. It was empty. He left the hall and returned downstairs into the city.
DEADMAN POV I walked into the middle of the abandoned building with my gun drawn close to me . The place seemed empty, not a sound could be heard aside from my breathing. Suddenly, I felt something touching my leg, it was cold and slimy, causing me to look down to see the most disgusting thing I'd seen in my entire life.It was a body, lying lifelessly across the floor. There was a hole in its chest. The body looked human, even though its face and arms were covered in blood. The clothes were dirty, torn, and ripped, along with the shoes. The body lay on the floor, next to one of the many pools of blood covering the floor. The smell of blood filled the air, and my body tensed up slightly, afraid of what the body might do. Slowly, I walked closer to examine the body. On the corpse’s stomach, there was a large red stain. A wound? That's weird, it shouldn't have any blood, unless…I touched the wound, and the whole thing started to burn hot. It was a burning sensation, the same kind t
