CHAPTER 138

Jessica was very beautiful and her singing was the more reason people troop into the bar. In fact, most of that bar’s turnover was brought by Jessica and now that she was out, the bar manager felt like he’d been beaten in a game. 

As the others turned around to leave, the bar manager rushed to Jessica and grabbed her hand. “All this was my fault. I apologize to you, Jessica. Please forgive me and come back. You’ve been here for so long. The bar is your home.”

Jessica yanked her hand away from the grasp of the manager. “I’m just a singer. You can find another singer anywhere. And this is not my home. If it was, you would have had a second thought before sending me away with that man.”

The bar manager’s heart skipped a beat. He wiped the sweat on his forehead with his bare hands and looked at Jessica pleasingly. “Jessica, how about I double your salary?”
