The nurses hurried to Damien who held Regina. He looked at her and noticed how thin and pale she had become.

Her illness had become critical and he blamed himself for not informing them about it earlier.

"Take her to a room on the third floor," he instructed and they laid her on the stretcher and wheeled it to the elevator.

"Sir, what should we do about her? Should I inform her family to come take her out?" Eric questioned, staring at his boss in curiosity.

Damien let out a deep breath and put his hands in his pockets. "Her condition is critical and if not treated immediately, she won't survive it," he answered dryly.

Eric drew his brows together and walked closer to him. "Are you trying to attend to her?" He questioned in awe. "Even after what she did to destroy this hospital and your career too? She hates this hospital and has done a lot of things."

They both stared at each other with no words being spoken. Bianca was perplexed seeing the changes in him while Damien had his mind occupied with the memory of the day she informed him about getting divorced. He let out a deep breath and broke the stare. He looked at Regina who was still unconscious and walked to her bed."How is she? What is wrong with her?" Bianca finally asked after minutes of silence."Her condition is bad," he answered, checking her vitals. "Her blood pressure keeps dropping. There has been no improvement in her health. The only thing I could boast about is the medication keeping her alive," he answered professionally and looked at her."This is a rare disease and she is in the third stage," he revealed.Bianca's heart skipped a beat and she averted her gaze back to her sister. Her smile was fake and he could tell at just a glance. She was pretending to be strong but deep down, he knew she was broken inside."I can spare a few minutes," he answered and she pulled out a chair and sat down."It's about Regina. I want to know the progress of her treatment. Why hasn't she woken up yet?"He let out a deep breath and drew back. "I can't say when she will regain consciousness. That is not within my power. And for the treatment, I haven't found a positive result," he answered and watched her face drop. She looked so tired at that moment. "There should be a way, right?""There would be, but I am trying to find that way," he answered and drew forward. "Like I said, this is a rare case and the research done on it was dropped. But, I made a promise and I am going to fulfill it," she assured."I know I am asking too much. Regina is the last pers

The commenters might be right. Maybe the end fate is death. Damien let out a deep breath and put his hands in his white coat's pocket. "We will be undergoing lab tests and monitoring the changes. This hospital has the best doctors, so we will be able to come up with something," he answered. "Maybe she didn't need all kinds of medicines, but just a little medicine and that would do the job."Bianca let out a deep breath, feeling reassured. It's been three weeks since Regina fell sick, and it was the first time she got a reassuring word. She looked at Damien and the corners of her lips curled up unknowingly. She knew she could trust Damien. He was capable and she was glad Regina had come into the hospital. "I believe you," she muttered and he looked at her, not expecting her reply. She cleared her throat and quickly said, "I believe that you and your doctors will save my sister. This hospital already has a good review. I am rest assured and relaxed."Damien nodded and sat down. She dropped her hand and her smile faded. "Why? I am so irritated now that I can't bring the pain relievers to you?" She questioned and walked in completely. "That's not it," Damien answered and rubbed his neck. He wasn't expecting her to be in his office at that time. "I wasn't expecting you."She nodded and dropped the pain reliever pills on the table. "Anyway, I saw him hurrying to your office and he seemed uneasy. He told me he got a call from home about his grandma and had to rush out, so I volunteered to bring this to you," she explained and tried to look at his computer, but couldn't reach him."Is there a positive response?" She questioned with curiosity lacing her voice.Damien picked up the pain relievers and examined them. He went to take a bottle of water and sat back. "You aren't saying anything," she said, seeing he was planning to ignore her. "This is about my sister and I need to know her progress.""There is no positive response. Bianca looked at him with her brows drawn together. A cure? She wondered. Not getting an explanation from him, she looked back at the paper."That is the cure?"Damien ignored her question and sat down. He typed the medicine's name in his computer and when it came into view, he let out a deep breath and drew closer. "This might be it," he muttered, getting Bianca more curious. "What are you talking about?" she questioned and bent a bit to see what he was doing. "I am confused right now. Did you find the medication for her?"Damien let out a deep breath and moved his hair back. "Who would have thought a critical illness would be cured by a simple medication," he finally said, looking at her. Bianca stood straight and drew her brows. "Do you mean the immune booster?"He nodded and scrolled down the results displayed on the screen. "Absolutely," he simply answered and began to type more results. Bianca stared intently at the screen and arched her brows. She averted her gaze to Damien

Damien eyes popped open upon hearing what the man said. He brought the phone to his face to see the number before he took it back to his ear. "Dr Ahmed?" He remembered nothing about sending a message to him. "Yes. I got an email sent from you around 2 am, but I saw the email this morning," he answered, clearing Damien's confusion. "Why don't we meet to talk more about this? I am staying in the countryside. Retired last year and decided to start a new life in Middle-field. You should also consider it. This place is a lot more peaceful and quiet than you can ever imagine," he suggested. "It must be great," Damien answered, keeping his voice calm. "I will meet you in the countryside this evening."The old man agreed and hung up. Immediately he did, Damien looked at Bianca to ask about it but she was asleep. For someone who was claiming to be strong enough to remain awake, she fell asleep faster than he thought. He let out a deep breath and faced his computer. He logged into his emai

Allen went back to the library and down to the basement. The door was still open a bit. He let out a deep breath and moved back, going closer to the door to avoid getting captured by the surveillance camera. He brought out two little explosives, which had been with him before he left for the meeting. He had slipped it into his pocket to use it when necessary. He activated it and threw it to the center of the basement. After waiting for a few seconds, it exploded and the building shook. The basement became smokey, blinding the cameras. An easy way to successfully rescue Josh and leave, he thought. He ran into the opened door and just as he had suspected, Josh was chained to a chair in the middle of the room with his mouth covered. "This damn people," he muttered and ran to him. He pulled the tape out of his mouth and Josh breathed out deeply. "You shouldn't be here. This is all a trap. Get out!" He said with his voice laced with panic. "I promise to always protect you and i

The second guard was standing before them, staring at them in horror. He was going to call his partner as he was taking too long and their bosses would soon be out, but he found him unconscious with the woman and a familiar man beside him. "Hey! Who are you two?! What have you done!" He said out, bringing their attention to him. He quickly brought out his gun but before he could point it at them, Mary threw the rod to him and it hit the gun away. Before he could recover, she ran and punched him hard on his face and the next to his chest, rendering him weak. He fell on his knees groaning in pain. "You should never have trusted me," she muttered and wrapped her arm tightly around his neck, to make him unconscious, while Allen went on to undress the other officer. The second guard finally went to sleep and she let him go. "Now, we have our perfect disguises," she said with a smile and made to undress him but Allen held back her hand. She looked at him with her brows drawn to

They both left the car and ran towards the state library. Just when they got closer, Mary suddenly held his hand and dragged him to the alley. "What are you doing? This is our chance to go in," he pointed out, not pleased with her sudden action. "I know we are two and I promised to fight with you, but are you a fool?" She questioned, which made him arch his brows. She never misses a moment to insult him. She went on, "If we go into that library as Allen Scott and Mary Jane, the project Erubus would be informed before we get to them and they will have all the time to escape and plan an attack. We don't even know where exactly they are in the building." Allen signed deeply, knowing she was right. He was going to make a bad decision but lucky enough, she was there to stop him. "So what's your plan? Are we going to disguise to go in?" She nodded. "We have to disguise. That way, we can enter as normal people and figure out what to do and where to go." "Won't it take a lot of time

"Mary?" He called, in shock. "C'mon. We don't have all day. My system is about to shut down!" She yelled out, getting ready to run. Allen nodded and hurried down the stairs. He put his glasses into his pocket and together, they ran into the woods, going as fast as they could. "We need to find a place to hide before the explosion," she pointed out, breathing heavily. "Come with me," he answered and took the next turn. He noticed a pit a few distance away from them and pointed it direction. "There!" They both jumped into the pit and a loud explosion followed next, shaking the ground and bringing everything on its path down. After the explosion, silence followed next with their heavy breathing loud to their ears. Mary Jane sat down and placed her hand on her chest, trying to calm her racing heart. "That was close," she muttered. Allen nodded and sat beside her, trying to steady his breath. She looked at him and asked, "How did you know there was a pit here?" "I took noti

"The left, the right, the the" Ultimate began to glitch until it went off. "Ultimate?" Allen called but the system was gone. "What the heck is going on?" He questioned and looked around for another door. He found an escape door but when he tried opening it, it was locked. "Dang it!" He cursed inwardly and went on to search for another door in desperation. If it was a bomb, the time would be ticking and he knew he had a few minutes to escape or that would be the end. He still had a lot to do. He promised Stephanie that he would be back. He still had to bring down the project Erubus and ruin his father. "I can't die today," he muttered, thinking about everything he had to do. He found a few more doors but they were all locked and the few that weren't, they led to a different room. It wa

"I knew something was off," Allen mumbled, bending low to avoid getting hit by the flying bullets. The driver immediately took a turn, while the security officers in the other car rushed out and started firing at the shooters. "Josh is in danger!" Allen muttered, realizing they had used Josh's phone and knew about the address for their meeting. "Stop the car!" He ordered, taking the driver aback. The driver didn't stop the car at first, thinking he had heard wrongly until Allen repeated himself this time, with fury. He quickly pulled over and Allen stepped out holding a gun. His security officers were so busy with the attackers, that they didn't notice when he stepped out of the car and ran into the woods, trying to use the backdoor. He took cover behind a tree and quickly wore his glasses, activating Ultimate.
