"Don't go mummy, please don't leave me...I'm scared." A little child cried when his mom was taking gradual steps away from him.
"I won't stay long Damon, I promise...I'll be back for you. Just stay here and don't go anywhere." The woman assured the scared child who was beginning to cry loudly waking his little sister strapped on his mother's back."Here. Have this..." She murmured gently, removing a huge pendant from her neck and wearing it for the child who looks amused by the new gift."This would keep you safe, never lost or allow anyone to snatch it away from you. Just stay here while I go find some food for us okay?" The woman mused to him, tears escaping her eyes which she quickly wiped away. She moved away swiftly while the little child was engrossed in the new gift, by the time the child realized his mother was gone, a loud cry escaped his mouth."Mommy!!!" He called into the night.Damon's eyes flew open and he began to breathe heavily. He looked towards his right and left but no one was in sight.A confused look spread across his face, he decided to stand but found out that there were several IV tubes pressed into his body flowing with different liquids. He began to struggle weakly but his struggle only rewarded him with a painful migraine and he decided to relax because the migraine might kill him if he continued struggling. He couldn't shout because of the oxygen mask and he was finding it impossible to lift his hands, they felt so heavy, and slowly he began to feel light weighed. The door swung open and someone rushed to his bedside but his eyes began to close slowly and once again darkness won the battle. The man stared at the sleeping man and a happy smile covered his face, picking his phone, he dialed a number."He's out of the coma, boss." He said into the phone and ended the call to check on the sleeping man."You're sure he's okay doctor? It's been three days and he's not moved again." Damon heard a voice ask and gave a low grunt of a struggle trying to open his eyes but the darkness wasn't letting him go he'd made the resolve to win against the darkness and once he was determined to do something, nothing will stop him.His movement alerted the two men discussing and they quickly made their way to his bedside."He's waking up again." The man who seems to be in his sixties announced to the other man whose whole attention was on Damon. The fight with darkness ended and Damon fluttered his eyes open slowly in victory; never will he allow darkness to win in his life again.Once his eyes were adjusted to the light, he met two faces staring at him; the other was filled with a smile while the other man's face was just blank."Hello." The smiley man said with a smile but when Damon opened his mouth to talk, he started coughing. The doctor poured a glass of water for him and motioned for the other man to help the patient sit up. Damon didn't like the fact that he's been treated like a disabled and he tried to sit up on his own but his hands seemed too weak to carry his heavy body so he slumped back."Calm down and don't stress yourself too much, you're still weak." The smiley man muttered, giving him water to drink with the help of the other man. They propelled him into a sitting position, his head being supported by a pillow while the smiling man did some quick check-upon-upon him."I'm Doctor Alec Baldwin and this is General Leonard." The smiley man was introduced and Damon nodded his head in acknowledgment."What's your name?"He opened his mouth to talk but no words came out... What's happening? The question vibrated in his head."Has he gone dumb or was he dumb?" The man introduced as General Leonard asked, peering at Damon who looked at him with a baffled expression."N..no. I'm not dumb. I... I can talk." He replied when Doctor Alec couldn't answer the question thrown at him."Good. What's your name and where are you from?" The general asked with urgency in his voice."Calm down general, he's just coming out of a coma after eight months plus, give him time to think straight." The doctor explained to the impatient looking general. What!?Eight months? How?"How?" Damon asked with dilated pupils."Oh. Sorry for not informing you, you've been in a coma for eight months." The doctor announced and Damon frowned his face at the doctor. The man's saying it as if he'd just made some major achievement that would get him a gold medal."What's your name, young man?" The general asked in an icy chilled voice filled with a command that forced Damon's eyes to him.Their eyes locked and Damon felt his cold stare penetrating his soul. Who the fuck is this man?"Stop staring and tell me your name."Damon shook his head and felt a stinging sensation, giving pain, he relaxed his head back on the pillow."Stop scaring him, general." The doctor said, coming close to examine him."Try and remember your name sir." The doctor muttered calmly to him."Okay," Damon murmured and tried to think what his name was but all he got in his memory were blank spaces. He tried to think hard but it only resulted in more excruciating pain, his hands flew to his head, and clutched them in pain. "Ahhhhhh!!!" He let out a painful agonizing scream that made Doctor Alec jolted up in shock.Dr. Alec dashed towards the table beside the bed and got an injection ready, moving towards the man howling in pain, he asked the general to hold him tight while he administered the injection to him.The worried looking general held him down while the doctor injected him.Within seconds, Damon began to feel dizzy and darkness came for him again, engulfing him without giving him a chance to fight."What the fuck happen to him!?" The general asked, laying him back onto the bed gently."From the symptoms he just displayed...." He took a pause and dropped the empty syringe down, turning to face the general."He might have a memory loss. The young man doesn't seem to know his identity." He added, a deep sigh escaping his mouth, leaving the general in confusion and questions no one can answer… not even the unconscious man."Mummy?" The voice of a crying child called looking into the darkness, there was no one in sight, as he looked on and on, all he could see was pitch darkness.‘Don't be afraid of the dark, embrace it.’ A voice hummed in his young mind and more tears fell off his eyes, his little fingers clutching a silver pendant hanging around his neck. He began to move slowly, steadily but his sluggish steps also depict fear, the fear of abandonment. His mother is nowhere to be found, has she truly abandoned him? His small legs connected with a stone, he stumbled and fell flat on his face, a sharp thorny object piercing deep into his left arm and he let out a shrill childish mewl filled with pain and sorrowful moans. He waited for his mom or dad to come running towards him, to pick him up and pacify him but when nothing came forth, he stood and sat on his butt, pulling the sharp object that was stuck deep in his arm with tears cascading freely from his eyes. "Mom?" He called, his tiny voice rasp
The general looked at Damon with a confused expression on his face, the young man appeared to be in a daze, he was murmuring to himself, his eyes glued to the pendant he was holding. "My name is Damon... Yes, my name is Damon." He said a bit louder, his eyes darting from the scar on his left arm to the pendant he was holding. The woman in his dream had called him Damon and given him the pendant promising to be back for him but she didn't, then the scar... It can't be a coincidence, it just can't be. "Your name is Damon, right?" The doctor inquired and Damon's head turned towards his direction."Yes. My name is Damon, I guess." He mumbled the reply."Is your name Damon or not?" The general asked, apparently frustrated by the uncertainty of the man. Damon frowned his face, eyes consolidating on the impatient-looking man, "I'm not sure, sir but I'll take the name." He replied, wondering why the man was so impatient with him.The general let out a grunt of frustration and turned toward
“What do you want?” Damon's husky voice demanded, but no answer came from him, and it only made him angry. He could barely lift his body weight, and now he's been attacked by some unknown man. He had no slightest idea about what was going on, all his body was etched with confusion. “Stand up!” The intruder ordered snappily, the urgency in his voice irked Damon. He has no idea who the man was or what he wants, but he despises the way he ordered him. “I don't think that is possible, I'm just recovering from a coma and my body is still weak from being dormant for several months.” He replied casually, not giving a care in the world what the man with the gun would do to him if he failed to comply with his orders. Heavy angry footsteps began to thud on the floor and Damon braced himself for the worst to happen. He hates being ordered around, and within a few hours of waking up from unconsciousness, he could tell what he likes and what he doesn't. The intruder punched him hard in the fac
Damon's cheek burnt due to the intensity of the slap he was given, he had no idea what the general was talking about. Did he expect him to hug and kiss the man who wanted to kill him? He hadn't intended to kill him, everything he did was purely based on self-defense and survival instincts. “Bloody bastard!” The general spat angrily.A few men came and saw the scene in front of them, the general turned to look at them, his eyes blazing with anger.“What's the meaning of this? Who sent Larry into this room?” He asked, but none of the men could answer.“Get rid of the body now and let this be the last time this silly prank should be played in my base. For your punishments, two hundred push-ups in the training ground now!” He ordered, and one of the men immediately picked up Larry's body.Damon noticed the hateful glare they all gave him before they left the room. He had so many questions to ask, but there was no one to ask. Most of his body weight was relaxed on the wall, and he was
A large man lifted Damon and dropped him hard on the boxing ring floor, made a high jump, and landed on his body. A loud deep cheering voices of men could be heard, they were cheering for the bigger man while Damon clutched his stomach that's In a mess. Every part of him was in pain, and he knew more pain would come, that had been the routine now for months, the general would give him an opposition and whenever he wins, he sets him up with bigger ones. The man he's currently facing is Larry's elder brother, the man he'd killed by mistake five months ago, and he's bent on killing him now to avenge his silly dead brother. Larry was General Leo's messenger and secretary, they'd all played a trick on him that night to scare him, but their prank backfired on them when he died. They were punished severely for trying such dirty pranks on the base, and hence Damon already made himself a whole bunch of enemies before he stepped out of his hospital bed. They've not made life easy for him,
Damon's eyes widened when he saw the supposed hideout of the criminals that kidnapped Sia; it was a clubhouse bustling with life and energy. He checked his phone again, and the location given by the general was pointing exactly at that clubhouse. The clubhouse was close to the city, so it wouldn't be that suspicious if he decided to go in. Something in his head whispered, ‘This is a suicide mission’ And he couldn't agree more with the voice, everyone on the base had wished him farewell, some even betting on his life and most people bet on the fact that he won't come back alive. The general had personally dropped him off before he zoomed off to the city, he'd told him he'd wait for him at that same spot in the next four hours, and if he doesn't come out in the next four hours, he'd consider him dead and from the intensity in his voice, he'd meant every word he said. He took a deep breath and began to head towards the clubhouse, he began to wonder what Sia came to do here that led to
The whole club was in disarray, everyone hustled out of the club in abundance, Damon was furious with himself for being sluggish in reaching Sia. He looked for other alternatives to go into the room but there was no success, the club was huge, with different sections but this particular room had no other entrance but the door alone. He uttered profanity angrily and kicked the door violently resulting in it giving in, he was surprised that the door opened, since the door was opened, it only means one thing, it was unlocked moments before it was locked because he'd tried to open it several times before. He looked back to be sure everything was going as planned and began to move inside steadily, he can't kill anyone but that doesn't mean he can't get killed. Darn General Leo for this! If he dies, his blood would be in his hands, not that the general cares, he had hundreds of blood in his hands so it won't matter a bit to him. "Let me go, let me go!!!" A female voice shrieked, her vo
Damon stared at the moving Sia in awe, she just killed two men without any form of remorse, she'd taken two lives in less than a minute and she was walking away without even giving a second glance. He shook off the surprise and began to rush towards her, his mind thinking about a lot of things. He had no idea who Sia was because from what she'd done a few minutes ago, she was more than the shy, lovely, and ever-smiling Sia, right now she looks cold and murderous. "Which way to go, weakling?" She asked, turning to face him once they were out of the room.Damon arched his brow, "What did you just say?" He asked, giving her a blank stare. "I'm just asking you which way to go, no need to give me such looks." She purred and he gave her a scornful look. "Since you're the boss, why don't you lead the way." He said in mockery."Don't play games with me, boy, I could kill you and no one would know." She threatened, dangling the gun in her hand. "Just do it, believe me... I don't give a fu
