Asura flipped open his eyes with a gasp. He looked around at the dimly lit room where he was as he slowly got up to his feet.
Confused, he stood there looking around at the cottage-looking room. It certainly was a cottage and the place looked like one. But he didn't know why he was here and how he was here.
As he looked around for a possible explanation, Kai who was also sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall opened his eyes at the sound Asura was making.
Asura looked down at Kai who had opened his eyes and now looking around in confusion too. He guessed he possibly couldn't see so perhaps he was trying to sense where this was.
Asura bent down before Kai "Are you okay? Do you still feel hurt?" He asked.
Kai felt his body and Chest but he wasn't feeling the pain anymore. It was like the injury had just disappeared. He was even more confused and surprised. "I'm okay.."
"Your injury?" A
The melody was riding the night, breading the air with its cunning and seductive melody along with its blue dust. All who heard this melody were thrown into a pause. They'd stop and looked in the direction where this melody came from into the distance. Their views would be blurry and their thoughts dumb. They would be thrown into an illusion-like situation which would make them think they were still thinking straight but in reality. They were lost...And no one was an exception in this spell. The Soldiers who were moving around and those guarding the City gates all stopped and looked in the distant direction where this melody came from...They all paused sent into this illusion... The music continued for minutes gripping people into its spell and Kai had tried all he could in his power to hold the difficult spell long. He felt his strength dwindling and he didn't seem to keep it any longer. The spell was a very powe
The old man burst out into a light chuckle as he slowly walked up to the heavenly emperor. He was close enough to him, leaning closer to him and whispering into his ears... "But you don't have to panic your highness, there's still a chance of you surviving...." His lips had curled into a smile again, followed by a chuckle as he walked past him. The heavenly emperor stood there, feeling panicked and threatened. He had the expression of fear present on his face, giving off his vulnerability in this situation.." I'll ask you one more time.." He said as the old man who was heading into his house stopped" Are you going to return to the heavens with me...Or going to stay here and be my enemy...and keep threatening me" The old man smiled" I think you an answer to them" He smiled further as he continued his walk into his old house. The heavenly emperor stood there for a while in thoughts as he slowly clenched his fist. His expres
The night atmosphere in the woods was too quiet and at times seen as odd. There naturally would be noises through the woods, sounds of animals like owls and birds, crying through the woods and filling the atmosphere with more awkwardness. One who walked alone at night would certainly feel strange about this. Kai slowly ran his eyes through the sides with his ears doing the seeing. His ears twitched at every sound that was made in the bush. The sound of someone passing strangely and quickly struggled to be calm while he listened to the sound that came at every 10 seconds interval. He let his eyes follow the sound closely. But through his quest of tracing the sound with his eyes on that night, he didn't seem to see anything... He only heard. Soon came the cry of an owl from a tall tree. The cry came once and twice. Kai found this awkward and suspicious enough as he looked up in the direction. "What's that about? Who's it?" Asura wanted to know
Asura blinked for a moment, Looking at the little mice which were still pacing Around. Hearing what Kai had just said, he couldn't help but become curious about this little animal from the Cursed Forest. "How could it be from there? And how is it a demon? Weren't all demons banished years ago according to the story? And I thought it was said that all demon's souls or beings connected to it were trapped there without coming out... Then how's this here?" Asura might be reluctant about certain things but some he was sure of. And for something like the story of the vanished demons or beings by the heavens, he surely knew about this tale well. He looked at Kai who was about to give a reply" That...is something you should be aware of.. not me" He looked at Asura. "What do you mean? How am I supposed to know about it?" He questioned. Kai looked at the mice. He knew that Asura wouldn't know of it anyways. "The Cursed Forest had been se
They had continued their journey that night through the woods. Kai was mute as always while he led the way while Asura followed behind. Asura was abnormally quiet. He was still thinking about what Kai had said. His reactions and speeches were all suspicious and Asura could tell that he wasn't telling him something. But what was it? Something related to the Cursed Forest? The reason he was the only person who survived? Perhaps the reason why Kai had suddenly become healed from the sudden side effect that had harmed his cultivation and would take long. Asura also did track all these to the previous event when had seen The god of war. He had become furious and lost control. Then what happened next... He didn't know... It's the same thing with the incident of being shut the poisonous arrow...He still didn't know what exactly he did... But he had later found himself in the cottage and he was healed, along with Kai. And now again, Af
The calm night was filled with the sounds of nocturnal animals that roamed the atmosphere. Crickets and night birds cried through the night filling the creepy night atmosphere with a sense of naturalness and calmness. it was already late at night, slightly past midnight to be precise. The streets were empty as expected and the atmosphere was quiet. Nights like these were thatch was always peaceful with no one out. Everyone was probably fast asleep. There was no single soul outside. Amidst this calm and tranquil night was the sense of danger and abnormality. The atmosphere which was one filled with the sense of quietness and tranquility was suddenly spurred up with the aura of evil. Legends always had it that understand the unpecable moonlight was bond to be untold danger...and under this moonlight lay the strong aura of danger indeed. Through the lonely streets of the markets ran black smokes that surfed through t
The soldier seemed shocked by the theory made by Zhan Shen. His eyes were opened in shock "But... how's that possible? The demons were...." Zhan Shen looked up at him as he closed his mouth and said nothing. Zhan Shen then turned to the crowd who were still busy with the gossip in their mouths. "Does anyone know this man?" He asked. He looked around for a while waiting for a reply. "Yes!" A man from behind raised his hands, all turned to face him. Zhan Shen looked at him. "Step forward" Zhan Shen urged as the man stepped forward " Speak" "Well, this man is just an ordinary man who sells fruits beside my little bar. He's a peaceful and quiet man, He doesn't want any trouble at all. A good and friendly man. And based on the few interactions I had with him, I found out that he lived all alone After the death of his wife and only son a few years back. That's all I know about him" Zhan Shen looked at him
The sun had appeared early that morning, it was seen high above the Kang mountain with its light and ray shining above the mountain. Asura didn't remember being skilled in mountain climbing or anything like that, but he found himself struggling to make it to the top most of the mountain. With both hands clenched at the rocks sticking out and both of his legs hanging from the rocks below, he tried to climb further while avoiding falling. He couldn't take the risk, he didn't even look down to avoid erupting the fear of heights he once had. And he didn't want to fall either. He held it tightly, looking upwards as he took it slowly and steadily. He climbed and climbed until he was finally at the top. He took his time carefully to grab a firm hold above and then managed his legs to a safe spot. With that settled, he finally rolled himself to the top which was a balanced land. Finally, he made it. Asura lay on the
