Chapter 24

Logan watched as Rafe climbed up on a shelf and grabbed a can of beans, commenting, “This place looks like it was ripped straight out of a western movie.”

“You’re not seriously going to eat that, are you?” Logan asked in disbelief.

“I have a gut of steel now,” Rafe replied as he opened the can with his dagger-like claws. “So, yes, I am going to eat them.”

Rafe grinned at Logan as he pried open the top part of the can with his claws and dumped the contents into his gullet. With a smack of his lips, he tossed the can aside and went for another one, consuming about five cans of beans before he finally got full. Rafe sat down and patted his belly, satisfied.

“Those were totally still good, man. You want to try some?” he asked as he reached for another can.

“I think I’m good,” Logan retorted. “I’d prefer not to spend the entire night trying not to shit my guts out.”

“Your loss,” Rafe shrugged as he scurried into the other room.
