CHAPTER 9

(BRUGHTON KINGDOM)

Queen Alice was seated in her chambers with her sister; Eleanor, staring at the skies through the window, “I'm very lucky to be alive”, she said

Eleanor sighs and replies, “it's right you remain alive; and we'll protect you, majority of us will”

Alice nods and added, “you… Emily, Judith, Lois, and…”

“Wayne”, Eleanor answered, “while Olivia and Jack are trying to make sure it happens… I'm not sure about Cerci… meanwhile the king, Baron, Blake, Alcott have left for the battle and 'm not sure about Tom, he and Cerci are always on same decisions”

The Queen smiles and said, “you didn’t mention the guy I saw with Emily and Judith”

“he's not one of us”, she answered, “he's just a guy who was prophesied to have a great future”

“I see”

(BRUGHTON ARMY CAMP)

Soldiers were in troops, and In large numbers, while the king was having a meeting with his generals and officials

Baron and Blake were walking together close to a bush and having a conversation,

“Hudderham are really coming hot.. but we'll fight them with what we have”, Baron said

“about that… I think we should infiltrate their camp, we’re all close to getting the war started already”, Blake suggested, “we can reduce their resources and… kill some of them, a night attack…”

“yes… before they do the same to us”, Baron replies

And both of them suddenly dragged two soldiers of m out it the thick bush, pointing they swords at the soldiers immediately,

“spies”, Baron said

One of them tries to fight, but Blake speedily slit his throat and turns to the second, “from Hudderham…”

“yes… but I'm a BRUGHTON soldier… I mean I was… and they paid me… there are many more, many of they real spies are here turning us against our kingdom”, the soldier was shedding tears already

“this can't be happening…”, Blake exclaims, “the war has begun”

Immediately, they saw horses approaching from the direction of the Hudderham camp, soldiers in large numbers and right in their own camp, the betrayers were now in different outfit fighting against the others

The king and his generals rushed out and saw what was happening.

A surprise attack from the Hudderham soldiers

This is crazy

Hudderham has the upper hand in technique, armies, and even magic?.

Everyone soon began to fight, the war was finally happening and it's bad news for Brughton… definitely

(BRUGHTON KINGDOM)

Eleanor wasn’t with the queen anymore, and she had laid on her bed. Just about to take a nap when she heard metal clanking; she stood up immediately and looked through the window; saw Hudderham soldiers fighting theirs and killing them.

These ones had taken another route already; a longer one which means they just have been coming for days now. And here they are.

She began to shiver in fear, falling back on her bed and sitting at a corner.

Olivia suddenly came through the window; in her total red outfit, she stared at the Queen and spoke, “I'm sorry… but I have to do this”

.

Soldiers were fighting in every part of the city already, as the Hudderham soldiers were led by magically fortified Generals.

People of the locals were running around in fear, some escaping the kingdom so as to survive.

Judith, Emily, and Eleanor were heading for the palace together when they saw soldiers ahead.

“No… this can't be”, Emily shudders

“the Queen”, that was all Eleanor could think of

She immediately ran forward and jumped over the soldiers, flying towards the queen’s palace.

People who saw this wondered what she was and how she did that. While Judith pulls out two swords and dropped her cloak, she handed over one to Emily and said, “fight like you mean it”

The soldiers charged at them, but they began to fight back as well.

Wayne was surrounded by soldiers somewhere too, but with a fortified general about to fight him.

Jack was with Tom and both were fighting their way out of the kingdom; killing every soldier that comes their way

Cerci and Lois were in the local parts of the kingdom, staying indoors like most people did in fear, but they weren't scared. They were there so they could protect the people if anything were to happen

Wayne crossed his arms while the general took of his helmet; he had black eyes, red pupils, black veins and tough skin. He looked like a monster. Wayne smirks and shook his head sideways saying, “all I see in you is the desperation of Hudderham, and that has made me more confident that Hudderham will never be like us in Magic. Cause I know what you are and I will stay right here even if you take the kingdom… I will kill all soldiers who are sent to me…”

“Enough!”, the general spoke in a deep tone

He unsheathes his sword ad charged towards Wayne who has no weapon, but Wayne ducks the first attack, then the second and finally as the third was coming to his chest region, he hits the general’s wrist and without saying a word, he used magic to make that arm inside out

As in… the bone of that arm was outside and the skin was in the middle of the bones. Crazy!

The general yells due to the seen sudden and unimaginable pain he just felt; his sword fell and quickly, Wayne sucks out the dark spirit in that general while the general fell dead immediately, the smoke demon like being was bound by Wayne and destroyed with a single fissure magic. The only thing left of it was it’s essence

Red and thick like blood.

The soldiers who came to him with that general were terrified, and about to run when he blocked they their path with a force field; he stepped on the essence and said,

“you're all gonna die”

.

Eleanor arrived at the queen's room and saw blood stains on the ground and the queen was missing, but she also saw a part of her robe which was covered in blood. Eleanor bursts into tears and dashed out quickly; heading for the Queen's children to get them to safety

.

Judith and Emily were still fighting soldiers, but more had come and they had already given up on the possession of the kingdom. While both fled from the soldiers together, they collide with Eleanor who was with the prince and princess; Maxwell and Hana (the twins)

“where's the queen?”, Emily asked, but Eleanor could not say a word, instead she shake her head sideways with sadness written all over her face

Olivia was in a cave and she seemed to be injured; bleeding profusely and she had taken her top off as she tried to clean her blood, forcing herself not to scream. But she wasn't there alone, two other people were in the cave with her; Queen Alice and Harry. Harry was also wounded but not as Olivia was

“why did you save me?”, the Queen asked Olivia

Olivia whimpers and answered saying, “you’re our Queen… now the secret society doesn’t exist anymore… Jack didn’t help, he's selfish… I thought he was most serious and truthful who never allows partiality, but it was all lies; you need to be alive”

“And the kingdom is lost… already”, Harry added

Olivia turns to look at him and said, “don't you think your friends will be worried about you?”

“After everything I've seen today… I believe they will be fine without me… till this day, I never knew they had magical powers… but you've explained in details now… the secret organization which they must've been trying to protect me from”

Harry exhales and stood up, “they will be fine, but we need to go farther away from the city for survival… we need to keep going”

“No….”, the Queen protested, “… not yet… Hudderham will be stopping by many of the villages that are away from the kingdoms… we should wait here for 3 days or 4”

“makes sense but… “, Olivia was speaking but the Queen cuts in, “we can hunt for food”

“right… right”, Harry nodded

Lois and Cerci were still with the people even after the yells and screams of battle had stopped. Some people began to step out, and see Hudderham soldiers marching in and their flags already raised allover the kingdom and in the palace especially.

Cerci gasps, “this isn't good”

“where could the others be?”, Lois asked

Cerci was silent for a while; thinking before she answered, “Master Wayne could be in his stronghold… he won’t leave that place till he dies. We should find the others”

“no… but there's someone we must find, because the others will be searching for him too, if Emily, Judith and Harry are together… they will search for the Mysterious Man”, Lois was confident about that, “cause Harry is the future of Brughton… he has a part to play in everyone's life”

On the battleground, King Hudson, Baron, Alcott and Blake were now using their magical abilities to fight against the enemies as the generals of the enemies also did the same.

The people of Brughton were surprised as they watched their king; the minsters were moving back but couldn't run as the battlefield had Hudderham soldiers everywhere.

At the moment, the Hudderham soldiers were like 10 times the amount of Brughton soldiers and they needed a path to escape.

“Baron… you need to help me with this” the king said

Baron nods and they began to run towards the Hudderham soldiers, then suddenly, both of them stopped and casted a spell together; saying the same words, they stretched their hands forward as blue light generated and burnt the soldiers on a large scale while opening a path to escape, Alcott quickly added to their effort as he made a force field on the right and left.

The Brughton soldiers began to run through the space, with the chocolate, traders, nobles and minsters, Alcott went through as well, and they passed through but slightly. Blake wasn’t with them, but he jumped out of the midst of the Hudderham soldiers and landed with the Brughton as they ran but were being chased and still they fought while running.

One of the soldiers spoke to the King while running, “the kingdom is lost, Your Grace”

King Hudson didn't stop running, instead, he urged them to run faster, but the minsters stopped while yelling at the king

“no one would have died if you gave them what they asked for… and still you lost your kingdom”

“and your wife”, another one said, “we’ve heard your Queen is dead”

The King grins, and turns back to them, but saw the Hudderham coming closer. The ministers and to the enemies, bowing quickly but the king and his soldiers kept going on.

That night in the cave, they were burning sticks; Alice, Olivia and Harry.

Olivia was roasting a rabbit while Alice watched closely, Olivia suddenly looked at The Queen and asked,

“what’s really the thing they said about you dying soon.. that you won’t live longer due to an illness no one knows of”

“I… I… I don't think I should reveal it yet… just like the secret organization”, she replied

“I remember you must have done something to me that didn't make me kill you the other night… was it…?”

“don't think about it”, Alice cuts in, “I will tell you when the time is right”

Harry exhales and said,

“now I know what she's been talking about… I would help bring back this kingdom to life… but how? I don't even know magic nor is there anyone powerful enough to teach me”

“If Emily and Judith said that… then The Mysterious Man it is… we should find him after we arrive at any village… this will take quite a while”
