Chapter 6

Harry tries to attack, but Blake moved to the side, and grabbed Harry’s hand, but the latter smartly kicks Blake’s hand to be free of his grip.

He jumps, and tried to kick Blake, but Blake slide and then stood up speedily before Harry could land; also kicking the latter while he was still mid-air.

Harry fell, but stood up almost immediately and began to swing his sword trying to attack, but Blake was only walking backwards and moving sideways to dodge his attack.

This seemed to frustrate Harry, as Blake hadn’t even attacked with his sword. Harry jumps at Blake, but Blake only moved a step to the side, and Harry almost fell to the ground, but Blake caught him in a tight grip, then pulled him backwards throwing him to the ground.

Harry clenched his fist tightly, and gnashed his teeth; he was surprised and frustrated at the same time. He stood up, and began to attack faster than before, but Blake avoided the sword; bending, jumping, walking, moving sideways, but Harry kept coming at him.

Blake stretched his sword towards Harry, he was now about to attack.

As Harry came at him, Blake blocked with his sword, and bends quickly, kicking Harry, and cutting a portion of his cloth with his sword. Harry was on the ground, while Blake was standing tall as the winner.

Harry grins and stood up, Emily was laughing already, while Judith tried not to laugh.

“Who are you?”, Harry asked Blake.

“I guess I told you my name already”, he replies, while sheathing the sword and giving it to one of the guards of the house. He went back to his original sword, while Harry asked while staring at Emily, and Judith,

“Who is he? How did he do all of that? He made me look like a child playing with a log of wood”.

Judith bursts out in laughter, while Emily answered, “He’s who he says he is…”

“The best swordsman”, Judith said while Blake turns to Harry with an emotionless look on his face.

Harry was stunned by Judith’s claims, “Best? I just fought against the best…?”, he said.

“Not official best known to the people, but he’s better than the general who is considered the best swordsman of Brughton”, Emily said after she stopped laughing.

Blake was about to leave, but Harry rushed towards him, and fell on his knees before Blake, “Teach me!”, he requested, but Blake sighs and said to him, “No, if you really wanna get better, learn from Emily and Judith first… spar with them every day, but don’t push them to train you… when you get better, I might consider training you”

Blake walked away, out of the compound, while Harry stood up, and walked towards Judith, and Emily.

“So, you two are gonna teach me then”, he said.

Emily shakes her head negatively, saying, “Learn from your lover”, she went into the house while Judith who was smiling said to him,

“Don’t worry about it… I’ll teach you. You have a big role to play in Brughton’s future, I think you’ll need to get better”,

Harry smiled back, and both of them went in too.

Olivia was with Jack and Minister Alcott; having a conversation.

“You’ll be sent to the queen… you have to make sure it’s done successfully tonight”, Jack said, while Alcott added, facing Olivia, “no one must see you doing it. Just come back quickly, and if anyone stands in your way, deal with them as you see fit”.

Olivia nods in agreement and smiles, “Sure, it will be done”, she stood up, and left quickly.

Alcott said to Jack, “What about the little girl amongst us?”,

“Why do you ask?”, Jack asked immediately, “she’s just a little girl… and besides, she can’t be of any threat to us, all we have to do is win her to our side if the organization falls apart”

Alcott chuckles and replied, “The king will be going to war as well, and even Blake… Tom, and Cerci should be on our side. But Wayne is an unbending man”

“Of course, unbending, but he’s not above me, nor below me… we’re equal, just different”, Jack replies sharply.

(AT NIGHT)

A secret meeting was being held amongst King Hudson, Wayne, Alcott, Eleanor, Emily, Lois, Judith, and Blake. The King was speaking to them,

“I know you are the ones who care the most about the Queen’s safety… I’m taking this opportunity as a chance to let you know that I’ll need your help”

“How exactly?”, Emily asked, and the King answered, “Please protect the queen. I will be off to the battlegrounds; it could take weeks, or even months to end the war; Blake is coming with me, Alcott will stay behind… You ladies will stay behind too”

Eleanor nods, “I’ll always be with my sister”, she said, and the King heaved a sigh of relief, before he continued speaking.

Eleanor whispered to Judith, “don’t you think we should tell him about the prophecy?”, Judith hums, and shakes her head, while Emily replies quietly,

“If he knows, it could be bad… but we must work against it. We should try our best to save everyone”

Lois stood up abruptly, and they turned to her as they all kept quiet; she stared at them for few seconds,

“I was attacked by assassins; sent to kill me”, she said; this surprised them all, and she continued, “But I wasn’t able to find out who sent them…”

Wayne who had been silent since, smirked and said,

“Someone is very greedy amongst us, and it’s obvious”

Blake sighs, before replying, “Who else would a person suspect if not Jack?”

The King nods, while the others thought about it too. “We will see to that while you’re gone”, Emily said, before the King stood up, and left with Alcott.

(HUDDERHAM KINGDOM)

(THE PALACE - NIGHT)

(AN OPEN ARENA)

It was like an arena where gladiators fight; crowds were seated where they should be, as noise filled the air, but something else was going on here. It wasn’t a battle of gladiators.

Men dressed in black robes; about 40 of them, if not more. They looked like occults, and also had hoods to cover their head. They were walking in circles around the fighting space of the circle arena; chanting words which a person wouldn’t hear clearly. Not to talk of understanding the magical words.

While 40 were going in circles at the edge of the fighting space, in the middle were generals of the armies who would lead the battle; who were on their knees.

They were very much, and right before each of them stood other occults with small cups which were still empty.

While another three were mixing a liquid with long stick. It looked like they were preparing something they would drink, as fire was beneath the pot. The liquid substance was red like wine, and quite thick. The chanting continued.

While some also stood beside two coffins which were yet to be opened; they also chanted the same words at the others.

The skies so dark, and thick clouds could be seen, as lightning flashed in the skies. Each of the ones with the cups began to walk towards the three who were preparing the strange drink; they took some into their cups, and as they were done, they walked towards the generals who were to lead the war.

The generals tore off their tops, revealing their chest. Each of the ones before them took out a dagger, and dipped into the cup, then began to draw something in their chests, slightly cutting through their skin in the process. It was a ‘V’ and ‘A’ combined.

Then the opened the mouths of the generals pouring the drink into their mouth, as they drank and swallowed it. They all began to scream too, as their eyes turned red, their mouth wide open as the yelled in agony.

The chants of the occults began to intensify as it got louder and faster. Those next to the coffins also opened it, and flaming figures shot out in large numbers; they were like souls.

Quickly charging towards the generals and going into their mouths while the others flew back into the coffins, before it was closed.

The generals also began to chant the same words the occults chanted,

“Mi ka bo lishi ra sha mu teh… Mi ka bo lishi ra sha mu teh…”

They repeated this over and over, while the King, and court ministers as well as advisors all watched in pleasure; and with smiles on their faces, but few of them were terrified.
