After hearing Nadal's comments resonate over the entire region, the recruits were left with a range of feelings they were unable to reconcile. All of these emotions, and more, bundled into one: disbelief, fear, curiosity, worry, exhilaration, and hope.

Everyone in this group had their reservations about what he had to say because, after all, he might be anyone—a decent guy or a horrible guy, who knows.

No matter what emotions they were experiencing or who was speaking, everyone's eyes continued to be drawn to Nadal, but nobody spoke to him because his timing was off. It was irrelevant.

As Nadal came to the realization that despite the magnificent quality of his entrance, no one had responded to him, the color of his face began to turn red. Once again, his acerbic tongue made
