During the course of Lucian's examination of her hands, he came to the realization that her left hand was the cleanest because the most of the blood he had been exposed to was on his forearm. He reached out with the finger he considered to be his cleanest and touched the wound on the young girl's arm with great care.

He saw an image of it in his mind's eye in addition to the typical blinking dot at the side of his vision, and Lucian mentally pushed the warm energy that was streaming through his fingers into the body of the child.

When the little girl felt the warmth rush into her, she looked down and noticed that the bruise was returning to its normal color at a visible pace. This caused the girl to look away from herself and focus on the bruise. It seemed as though this turn of events caught her off guard.
