David stood his ground, his feet were fearlessly firm in the ground.

The three boys walked towards him and Eric was too terrified to do or say anything.

They wiped their noses aggressively as they came closer to him.

"Hey garbage boy!" The first one walked towards David. "What the hell did you say to us?"

Eric was shaking his head with his eyes open, he didn't want David to get into trouble.

David snorted as he went back to work, but that made the rude boys more angry.

One of them collected the long stick David used to pick dirt and he snapped it into two.

David finally looked up at them, his tongue angrily pushing against his teeth.

"Why don't you say something now, tough guy?" They dared him. "Do you know who we are?"

"Assholes, that's who you lots are." David huffed. "What are you, kids? Why don't you treat people with some damn respect?"

One of them grabbed David by his shoulder, but David shrugged him off. David was strong, they could see that.
