Chapter 5

David ran quickly, leaping over mountains and crossing valleys, agile like a spirit ape and fast like a cheetah, retreating through the mountains with lightning speed. However, he couldn't completely shake off the people behind him. Several figures were still closely following him, indicating that their cultivation level was not weak and they were probably mid-stage cultivators in the Sea of Bittering.

Suddenly, David's expression changed. Ahead of him was a large canyon, and two figures appeared to block his path. Not only were there pursuers behind him, but also two people who had flanked him ahead of time.

At this moment, it was too late to turn around and retreat. David stopped and said, "Hey, we were just chatting together not long ago. Why are you blocking my path now?"

The two people blocking the entrance of the canyon were a man and a woman, both in their mid-twenties. The woman had a cold smile on her lips and said, "You were fine in Purple Sun Cave Heaven. Why did you escape? Did you do something you shouldn't have done?"

The man took a few steps forward, staring at David and said, "Could it be that you stole something? Otherwise, why are you running away in such a hurry? You're still a beggar with a criminal nature. Even after coming to our Purple Sun Cave Heaven, you can't keep your hands clean."

"I think the source on your body came from an illegitimate origin. Maybe it was stolen from our Purple Sun Cave Heaven. Otherwise, how could a small beggar like you have such a valuable thing?" The woman approached.

During this process, David continued to move forward, appearing very natural and not trying to rush past. He remained calm on the surface, but was actually sneering in his heart. These two people clearly wanted to steal his source, but they had to slander him with unfounded charges.

"How could you berate me like this? This source is clearly a treasure passed down in my family. You can't just smear me like this," said David as he walked towards the two of them.

Just then, the people behind them shouted, "Watch out!" But it was too late. David decisively took action, leaping up with lightning speed and striking their heads together with both hands. The two cultivators couldn't imagine that a beggar as young as eleven or twelve would possess such terrifying skills. They were completely unprepared and fainted instantly.

David didn't use the golden book because there were two people blocking his way and he didn't have the confidence to quickly kill them. He wanted to deceive the people behind him into thinking he relied on this method to kill the first person, rather than being proficient in cultivation.

At this moment, David pulled out a small curved knife from the woman and threatened to kill the two people. However, he was stopped by a scolding voice from behind. David pretended to be panicked and continued to flee forward. After running for more than ten miles, three figures finally surrounded him.

The female disciple sneered, saying that he was not a disciple of the Purple yang Cave and ran a lot of detours so he was caught. The two male disciples were furious and blamed him for killing their fellow disciple. David acted scared, appearing as a normal 11 to 12-year-old boy, and explained that he had no choice but to knock them out in self-defense because they wanted to take his source. However, he accidentally hit their necks with a knife. The female disciple was cold and said that David had killed their fellow disciple. The other two male disciples demanded revenge and wanted to kill him. David continued to move his feet, seemingly scared but actually adjusting his position to be on the same straight line as the two male disciples.

Suddenly, a dazzling golden light shot out from his body like a golden lightning, and the golden book shone brightly and passed across the sky. Two faint sounds came, and the two men were killed, their upper bodies falling to the ground while their blood continued to spurt. The lower halves of their bodies remained still for a second before falling into the bloody puddles.

The female disciple was shocked but reacted quickly, summoning a purple divine net to envelop David. A

dazzling golden light - like a golden sun with glittering flames - shot out from David's body and collided with the purple net, producing a loud clanging sound. The net shattered inch by inch and fell to the ground, while David's golden book whirled and sliced through the air, producing a soft sound as the female disciple's head rolled off.

David wiped off cold sweat and thought that if he hadn't been able to deceive them, he would have been the one lying in a pool of blood. Just as he ran off, he heard shouting from behind. Several people had almost caught up with him. David quickly adjusted his direction and ran, displaying an incredible speed. Suddenly, a bell rang in the mountains, causing several figures on his tail to stop and quickly run back.

David realized that a significant event had happened in the Purple yang Cave, perhaps related to the identity of the knight of the Jiang family. He quickly tossed the source into a river, knowing that the second-best cultivator from the Purple yang Cave could sense its aura. He ran back to a waterfall and spent three days hiding in the water, avoiding detection. For the next two weeks, David carefully evaded detection while hiding in the mountains.

Eventually, he left the range of the Purple yang Cave and walked for thousands of miles, arriving at a deserted ancient city. However, to his surprise, he soon spotted the knight of the Jiang family again. David realized that the problem was not with the source and emptied his pockets, displaying all his other possessions, including a white jade pendant given to him by Wu Qingfeng and a broken jade given by the rogue Taoist Duan De.

Then, he pulled out a walnut-sized bodhi seed and muttered to himself, "Could it be because of this?" Losing this bodhi seed would be such a waste, as it could help people attain enlightenment. David had never treated it as a spiritual treasure, always seeing it as just a seed of the divine tree. Now, he realized that the problem might lie with this seed. "Perhaps the treasure that Jiang Yichen sensed is this bodhi seed," he thought.

Soon after, David entered a restaurant, ordered some food, and prepared to eat. "Life is full of unexpected encounters," suddenly, an elderly voice rang in David's ear. A skinny, white-haired old man, like a ghost, appeared before him, blocking his way. "Elder Han," David was shocked and almost knocked over the table. How could he encounter him at a time like this?

"It seems like we have a great destiny. I've been looking for you," Han, the elder of Lingxu Cave, sat down opposite David. "What can I do for you, Elder Han?" Han looked like a dried-up piece of wood, with only old skin covering his bones. Coupled with his white hair that hid his face, he looked terrifying. He said in a gloomy tone, "I've prepared endless spiritual medicines for you, but I haven't been able to find you. I didn't expect to meet you like this."

"You've prepared many spiritual medicines for me?" David was surprised.

"You are the main ingredient, and the other spiritual medicines are complementary," Han said calmly.

"Damn it, you old fart!" David slapped the table directly. Suppressing his anger until now had been useless.
