In another part of the World, north of Nigeria, kilometres away from the nearest City or village, it was already late afternoon. The leader of an armed group was in his tent, eating fruit. One of his men entered and sat on the floor in front of him.

With a big smile, the man said, “Ekon, I have a woman for you. I chose the prettiest one of the lot we got this morning. Do you want to see her?”

That depends. Your taste in women is not that good. Where did you find her?”

The men brought her and three others from the City. They caught them right as they were leaving School.”

Ekon, the black, tall, and muscular leader of one of the most dangerous armed militias in the country, stood up and grinned. “Good, I like my women young. How old is she? And her tits? Big enough to suck and grab?”

I think you will like her. She is sixteen, and her friends are around that age. The ones we got yesterday were twelve and thirteen, and they are also in the same tent, waiting for their new man. But you have first pick, of course. If you don’t like her, you can choose another.”

Are you sure about her age, Taiwo? I would prefer it if she was younger because she is probably tainted already. She might have lied to you.”

Not after the scare I gave her. I put a gun against her head and her friend, and she shouted in between her crying. She is sixteen and a virgin. You will taste her first, and you can do whatever you want to her. Scared as she is, she won’t deny anything! Ahahah!”

Both men left the tent, smiling and talking about what they would do to the girls their men kidnapped.

An armed, black and thin man, dressed in ragged clothes, stood in front of the tent where the kidnapped girls were, and he immediately stood aside when his leader and his second in command approached.

They entered, and Taiwo pointed at the scared group of girls who were seated on the floor in a corner, with their faces wet from all the crying. “That one right in the front, with the long straight hair. Just by that, you can see she comes from a family with money if they spent so much on straightening it. She also had a lot of money in her purse inside her school bag and an expensive-looking mobile phone. Did I choose right or not?”

She is pretty indeed! Man, I will love to break her in half and hear her scream for me to stop! I will stop alright, by going to another hole! Ahahahah!”

The girls screamed, only by looking at the lust looks on the men’s faces. Ekon unbuttoned his trousers and said, “You know what? I will have her suck me right now! It will also show the others what we like! Ahahah! Bring her here!”

Taiwo went to the group of scared, screaming girls and pulled by her hair the one that was meant for his leader. He dragged her over the floor and placed her face right in front of Ekon’s waist. She kept on struggling, and Taiwo slapped her and warned her with a grin, “No, no! Be a good girl, or instead of pleasing him, I will shoot you in the head and leave you outside for the vultures to eat!”

The crying girl was forced to look ahead, and Ekon was approaching her, already with his trousers and underwear down.

She screamed and felt a sudden heat rushing through her body.

Before the surprised men, she kept on screaming and scratching her body. In mere seconds, her body grew; claws appeared that ripped her clothes and took off her once black skin, cared for since birth by the most expensive creams her mother could find.

Her head enlarged, and one clawed hand ripped it apart. Then she stood up and howled. A dark grey nightmare stood in her place, looking down at the three men that were frozen in terror.

The once scared girl was no longer a girl. She was now a blood-thirsty beast, seeking prey to kill and flesh to eat. She went into a killing frenzy, and the three men died with only two movements of her massive claws.

She then turned to face the screaming girls and jumped on them, using her claws and sharp teeth to rip them apart, three or two girls at a time.

The noise of the screams attracted more men from the outside, who started to shoot the dark grey Werewolf. But instead of killing her, they only made her angry because now she was almost immune to normal bullets and her body healed the wounds the moment she was hit.

She jumped on them, tackling the first man and using him as a platform to jump to the others behind him.

Ten minutes passed. Fifty men were torn apart, including the twelve boys that were among them and the seven girls that were in the tent with her.

The dark grey Werewolf howled when there was no one else alive in the campsite, and her hearing drove her to the tent again.

In there, a girl was still alive. Barely, with her hand over her stomach, trying to hold the intestines inside, and bleeding out. She slowly raised her head and made a slight smile at the dark grey Werewolf that was approaching and growling, and she spoke, “I… am glad… you are… okay… Adeola… It’s… alright… I don’t… hate you… I would rather die… than be raped… thank you… for freeing me…”

The dark grey Werewolf kneeled in front of her dying friend, and in seconds, the grey fur and flesh fell off, as the girl changed back, and used her hands and fingers in a hurry to release herself from her former self.

She barely had time to hug her friend before she died, and she shouted while crying, “I am sorry! I lost control! Forgive me! I didn’t want to kill you or the other girls! I just wanted to stop them! I am sorry!”

She cried and cried until she had no more tears left. Then she let her friend go and gently laid her on the floor. A look around was enough to check that all the girls were dead because of her killing rampage, caused by fear and desperation. Slowly, she went to the nearest gun on the floor, still with bullets in the magazine.

As she was grabbing the gun, she said in a low tone, “Mother, father, I was always a good girl… always… I wanted to get a degree, and a job, and to give you grandchildren… I only wanted to make you proud of me… I am sorry… Please forgive me…”

She pressed the trigger and died.

Far from there, a woman was crying in her home. Her husband was on the phone, talking with the police, trying to find news about their missing daughter, who was kidnapped in the morning.

Suddenly, she felt something deep inside, and an extreme sadness consumed her that made her get up with a jump, and she screamed, “No! No! My baby! My baby is dead! My sweet baby is dead!”

Her husband dropped the phone, which broke on the floor, and rushed to her. He hugged her and asked, “What happened? Tell me, Alika! Tell me!”

My baby! My baby is dead! I felt her! Obi, she died! My sweet baby died!”

What are you saying? She is not dead! She can’t be dead! She was kidnapped, but the police and the military are searching for her and the girls that were with her! They will find her safe and sound! You will see!”

No… my sweet baby… my sweet Adeola... She never hurt anyone… Why did this happen, Obi? Why? My baby… my baby is dead…”

Obi didn’t know what to do, except to hug his crying wife as hard as he could. He joined her in her crying, and they both let the sadness consume them.

They did everything to hide the fact that their daughter was a Werewolf, even without any cases in either of their families. Even so, she kept on having good grades, studying hard and helping her mother every time she was in the house.

They dreamed of her becoming a famous doctor, since medicine was a subject she loved. All those hopes got put on hold the moment the School phoned them, saying that a group of armed men grabbed her and her friends in broad daylight in front of the School’s gates when they left School to buy chewing gum in a store right on the corner.

During most of the day, they tried to get some news of her whereabouts, with no success. The police kept on saying that they were doing all they could to find her, despite that, they couldn’t find any leads.

Now, Alika was screaming and crying nonstop, and Obi didn’t know what to do, except to hug her.

Some thousand kilometres away, a Monk was seated on the floor, facing a three-meter statue of Buddha, with his bead collar in his hands, praying.

Then, two younger Monks came running, and they announced, “Head Priest! A group of twenty armed men broke in! They are shooting at everyone! They are after the younglings! Someone in the village told them we were giving asylum to Werewolves!”

The Head Priest got up with a jump and faced them. He removed his robe, and in seconds, his flesh and blood were on the floor, making a pile. A dark brown Werewolf was in front of it, and his harsh voice spoke, and the younger Monks gasped. “Leave them to me. Go call brother Zuan. I might need assistance.”

One Monk stuttered, “B-But Head P-Priest… If you kill them… you are going against the doctrines…”

Yes, I know that. My solemn judgement that I made many years ago was to protect everyone in this Monastery and to do it when needed. And today, it is needed. I will pray to Buddha for forgiveness for the rest of my life, but now I have to protect our brothers.”

The dark brown Werewolf ran on his four clawed paws at high speed towards the exit, and in seconds, he was on the patio, standing tall and looking at the now scared group.

He looked at them all and spoke in a loud, harsh voice, “You are not welcome here! Leave now, and I will spare your lives! Stay, and you will die!”

A gun fired, and that was the signal that awoke the men from their torpor. They shot at the menacing Werewolf, and with lightning speed, he jumped to the left, avoiding the shots and landing on one man. A bite to his head and a pull, and the Werewolf spat the head at the group of men that kept on firing at him.

One by one, half of them were already dead when a second Werewolf joined the fight. In mere minutes, all the men were dead.

The dark-brown Werewolf faced his companion and asked, “Are the children safe? How many brothers have we lost?”

I saw two dead when I was running here, but I don’t know how many brothers died.”

Help me gather the bodies of these attackers. We need to tear them into pieces and burn them so that no one finds anything. For all records, nothing happened here today. Let’s mourn our dead brothers after we take care of this.”

They began gathering the bodies and severed heads and limbs, while a group of Monks arrived with buckets of water and cloths to clean the floor of all the blood.

One Monk spoke in a low voice to the Monk next to him, “The World is changing, brother. Some years ago, an attack like this on a peaceful millennial monastery such as ours would have been unthinkable, and today, this happens.”

Yes, so it seems, and I have no idea why this happened. May Buddha pity their souls and guide them in their next life.”

Six months after what would go down in the history of Earth as the Dawn of Werewolves, Aella was at the bridge of her fiftieth conquered kingdom ship, looking at the screen that was showing the new planet under Werewolf control, a green planet with one single and massive continent. The Lycans that lived on the surface and were in charge of controlling and increasing the original population were now under her orders.Aurora was seated in the captain’s chair and smiled as she was reading a small 3D screen in front of her eyes, and said, “It seems our cousins Lycans that were on the planet are almost here. Only evolved Lycans and the original species are on the planet. Like the other forty-nine planets under us, they are all very happy to get rid of their oppressors. Among the ships that are arriving, there are a few that have members of the original species that wish to join our fleet and get revenge on our cousins Lycans.”“Nice. Never in the Empire’s history has a kingdom ship suffered such losses. Those Werewolves are truly amazing, and even if we can’t have most of them, we still have a few specimens. Perhaps our scientists can find out what made them like that. Their claws and teeth are by far stronger than ours. They heal as fast as we do, but unlike Lycans that fight with honour, style, and precise movements, those Werewolves fight like animals, and their attacks and movements are erratic. According to the reports, it is as if they don’t mind being hurt. If they are alive, they fight. But they are very similar to us. They only die if they get a sure hit in the heart or the head, but if we fail by millimetres and only wound them, they become savage and almos

But now we know. If what he said was true, the Werewolf gene was planted into our ancestors’ DNA pools, millions of years ago, and it seems that it is like the Werewolves always told us, that they are our next step in mankind’s evolution. It appears we were only meant to be food for those alien Lycans. It is still too soon for me to say anything, but I don’t believe mankind will fall into their plate that easily, because even if he said resistance is futile, and even if I have to fight alone, I won’t be turned into a steak for them to eat without a fight. At this moment, it is still unknown if our Werewolves will stand by our side or join them because the Lycans look like Werewolves. What I know is that my wife is a Werewolf, and k

I know she probably killed far too many Werewolves as an Enforcer, but she didn’t even hesitate.”Aniya sighed and said, “I know, and that always worried me. She likes killing Werewolves a tiny bit too much, but since she met Aurora, I think she changed. She used to be always angry, and most probably, the bond she has with Aurora and the new Pack made her realise she was not alone. She looked more at ease today than the first time I met her after she found Aurora. I was expecting her to be far more nervous than she appeared to be in the Auditorium. I am not sure, but maybe her light that made us recognise her as Queen of all Werewolves is also changing her, making her more worthy of ruling us all.”Nick slowly nodded and spoke. “I don’

I see no reason why a Werewolf should be killed because he killed a normal Human, and when a normal Human kills a Werewolf, he is arrested by the police and not killed as well. We need to find ways to make sure arrested Werewolves cannot change or escape from their prisons, perhaps with explosive collars around their necks that explode when needed. Either when the prison guards press a button, or when a security fence is breached.”Another man, on the right side of the auditorium, asked, “And those prisons would be controlled by whom? And how will the guards be chosen?”“By Lisa and Davis’ Pack, of course. They are the most impartial people I can think of.
