Chapter 4

On the plane, Edward tells Lauren “that based on the longitude and latitude they will have to land miles away from Sayia”. A team of six with Glass gets a pair of parachutes fully armed and kitted and gets ready to dive off the plane. Edward makes the first move while others follow. Glass pulls his parachute too early and loses balance he ends up on a tree branch he had to be helped down he sustains some bruises. After hours of walking through the forest, they stopped to rest and take shelter as

It gets dark.

Meanwhile, in Kaelin, Zach has seen armed men in their number and has informed the community. It's revealed to him that people in the community are fond of receiving people who were once victims of the cave the come back to feed and make more discoveries about the place as they disclose to him about Mr. Gastor, who was found bitten by sharks but also survived the attack, was beaten by the same bats. His case was different because he was a full vampire that could not walk during the day. He came back to the community thinking he could find a way to walk during the day without being burnt by the sun.

The team set up camp for the night, making sure to keep a watchful eye on their surroundings. The forest was dense and eerily silent, with only the sounds of nocturnal creatures breaking the stillness. Lauren couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched.

As they gathered around the campfire, Edward shared more information about the driver, Carlos, and his connection to Mr. Gastor. It seemed that Carlos had been involved in some shady activities, acting as a driver for individuals involved in illegal trades and smuggling. Mr. Gastor had hired him to take him to a secluded area in the forest, where he spent months before returning to Finicko.

Lauren and Glass examined the maps and coordinates they had gathered, trying to pinpoint the exact location of Mr. Gastor's hideout. 

The next morning, the team continued their journey through the dense forest, following the coordinates provided by Edward. The air was thick with anticipation as they closed in on their destination.

After hours of hiking and overcoming various obstacles, they finally reached the outskirts of the secluded area. The atmosphere grew tense as they approached, their senses heightened, ready for any potential threats.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, they stumbled upon an abandoned cabin hidden among the trees. It appeared to be the place where Mr. Gastor had been staying during his time in the wilderness. The cabin was in disarray, with signs of recent activity.

Lauren and Glass carefully searched the cabin for any clues that could lead them to answers. They discovered a journal filled with cryptic entries, detailing Mr. Gastor's experiences and experiments with the vampire virus. It became clear that he had been conducting dangerous research, attempting to find a cure or a way to control his vampiric abilities.

Outside the cabin, they noticed strange markings on the trees, indicating a hidden pathway deeper into the forest. With caution, they followed the trail, not knowing what awaited them.

As they delved deeper, they came across dangerous species of wild animals in large numbers that surrounded them. The sight was both mesmerizing and horrifying. They pact themselves back to back to defend themself due to fear Glass takes a shot at one which makes them attack.  They return to the cabin for safety Glass is badly injured and dragged by Edward as he lost two men to the attack Lauren is injured as well on her right wrist. Zach comes to their rescue she sees Zach she is shocked she notices his fangs. He tells them the forest is not safe. Those animals are coming back. It's getting dark. Zach takes them to Kaelin.

Hours later, Glass wakes up to his injuries wrapped in herbs covered with leaves; to his surprise, he feels mild pain after the attack; his injuries were quite deeper into the skin. He sees Lauren being attended to while a young man was sitting next to her they both keep stirring at each other no word was altered Lauren asks Glass “How do u feel” mild pain like nothing happened she turns to Zach “How did u survive the plane crash I saw the news about the crash nobody survived” I don't know how to explain it but I survived my abilities are all enhanced says Zach. You feed with blood asked Lauren Zach replies not if I want to. I feed normally, the sun does not affect me. They spend the evening talking, he takes Lauren around the forest, he has the speed of a vampire. She tells him about Mr. Gastor and the reason they came. He returns her to the community she kisses him but he could not stand the taste of blood in her system he leaves.
