Demon Ascension Assassin's Encounter I
Dreygo was suddenly awoken by his dreams of the past. The unending cries, screams, and wafting sea of flames flooded his dreams. His shirt was soaked wet with sweat and Elaine peacefully slept on the floor with only the extra sheets that comforted her. He looked for Viriel but there was no sign of him. The faint light of the morning sun found its way through in between the blinds. He tried to stretch his body, his arms outward, and a slight discomfort felt as freshly healed wounds on his chest. It seemed forever that he slept that numbed his feet as he tried to place them on the floor. He grabbed a glass of water on the side table and drank it whole. The breeze carried dust and wafted in between them and the Assasin. The neighborhood was surprisingly empty but seemed to hide behind their homes as petrified to become witnesses of an ensuing murder. Even though Dreygo still felt the pain looming from his newly healed wounds, he should overcome this fearsome adversary. 'How could he know our current location?' Dreygo thought. He could not grasp the thought of how the Assassin could have followed them. He assumed technology had contributed a great part to his hunt. “Over my dead body!” Dreygo responded strongly as if trying to intimidate. “Certainly.” The assassin said while he took two knives from his vest. The technique he holds the knives was to throw them at his targets. Dreygo knew this. Knives were their secondary weapons during medieval times. Unfortunately, the Ferrum Minus was not with him. The moon was high beyond the delicate grey hues of clouds. Tsi Luen City lights danced colorfully that refracted intricately against towering structures. Beneath the beautiful scenery, lay underground darkness that deteriorated the core of the said City. The Zi Lok Triad contributed most of its underground endeavors, not only corrupting the system but infecting them subtly with Demonic influence. Beyond the heart of the city, towns were quieter which was an opportune place for clandestine activities. Fear had directed the people to give a blind eye to witness Zi Lok’s operations which made them safe from the eyes of the fearsome Triad. Dreygo grumbled to have known that one of the Angels had connived with Demons. It fumed him with anger at the thought of Heavenly Angels could be corrupted, stripped down his integrity in exchange for what? His precious life? They stooped so low, even a Demon like Dreygo churned his stomach at the idea. The fortress was impenetrable, even with a sneak attack was near to impossible. Ninjas added strain to the predicament. Storming the front would be easily gunned down by thirty roving demons. Motion detectors and sophisticated alarm systems were strategically installed. Tsengshe Hospital, Tsi Luen, Cheena *** The Harbinger's mind raced and his heart hammered against his chest as they hurried to the hospital. The demons could get Sho before they could get to him. Dreygo stepped inside the hospital lobby followed closely by Elaine. ‘My heart again. Having a mind on its own.’ The feeling was unusual. He ate risky situations for breakfast in hell but his heart said otherwise. But then again, as he assessed, Elaine was the root of his worry. Such a fragile creature, so human. He was not used to caring for another person as He was used to being a lone wolf in Hell. He could not afford Elaine to be shattered, mauled, or killed, for the thought was unbearable. Tsengshe Hospital, Tsi Luen, Cheena *** “Officer Sho? Where is he?” Dreygo asked Elaine. “He probably escaped as he's spooked by these demons,” Elaine said. “Then we have to look for him. I could sense the other demons at the far end of this wing.” Somebody screamed along the corridor. A woman’s voice rattled at the sight of the corpses lying on the floor. Dreygo and Elaine scurried to the source and found a young nurse, emaciated in fright on the floor as she witnessed the downed officers. “Let’s go before the others come,” Dreygo said. They pursued the demon auras where they emanated. It was on the far end of the west wing of the same floor. ‘The officer must have escaped. The two officers must have saved him.’ Dreygo thought as they ran along the corridor. The demonic presence was nearing them as they turned corners. Bang! Bang! Bang! A combination of Greystone and tiled exquisite marble constructed the Imperator Atrium as it emphasized the beauty of Heaven Country Decadia. Decadia was one of the strongest cities, adjacent to its capital city Manuheim, of the Heaven World. The Imperator Atrium was the center for angel warriors. Its backyard sprawled acres of training ground for aspiring angels and second and third-ranking angels. The front yard, like most other grandiose structures, manicured a precarious landscape of flowers, palms, and fountains. Viriel sauntered inside the Atrium, his face plastered with worry. His depressed feelings were compensated by the strong but harmonious scent of flowers and oil that heaved the atmosphere. But even so, this meeting might be the end of his career as an angel warrior. “Who are you guys?” This was the first statement Officer Sho asked his rescuers. They already escaped the hospital and the Officer knew the Hospital escape routes and passed along emergency exits that only hospital staff knew. He had experienced a hostage case Tsengshe hospital and the first thing they assessed was the building's blueprints and exit points. They exited the Hospital a few minutes before the place was surrounded by his fellow officers. The police officer settled himself in the back passenger seat of the car and Dreygo was in front. Officer Sho was heavily gasping for air. He knew that the Triad won’t stop if he was dead. Typically, Triads did not like Officers with unshaken integrity or it might spark something motivational for other police officers to do the same.
