21. Explanation

Laughter echoed but weirdly Francesca and Arwen didn’t seem to be bothered by the noise. At that time, Devon realized that the demons inside him had started to show themselves again. He walked outside the cave to keep his conversation private.

“Welcome, you bastards. It’s been a while,” greeted Devon to the guests who paid a visit inside his mind. “I thought you guys were gone for good after causing such a scene back then.”

“In your dream, boy! You forged a contract with us, you remember?” reminded Lucifer. “So, until you keep your part of the deal, expect to see more of our antics soon! Wahahaha!”

Devon was astonished to remember that. Indeed, he struck a deal with them and agreed to offer them his soul, but that was done under a very stressful situation, making him unable to think clearly. But what’s done was done and there was no more he could do about that. Or maybe he could.
