Demons Battle

Sora bracelet gave out red glow. Just looking at the bright red light emanating from Sora’s bracelet sent a feeling of Terror through my body.

Sora was already lying unconscious on the floor. All my group members had been safe since the very start of this tournament. We even fought against Arata and not one of us was knocked out.

I was honestly beginning to think that luck was really on our side but right now just by at Sora unconscious. I had another feeling. This was it for us.

Sora was already out of the tournament.

Daniel stood with a nonchalant facial expression and looked at the unconscious Sora. The red light emanating from Sora bracelet gave him the assurance he needed. Sora was already out.

Daniel didn’t stop there. He instantly started moving to the next person. After Sora the next person Daniel would reach would be Danny.

The Ki of Daniel was still in full effect. I wanted to move but I couldn’t and since every other person was helplessly lying on the floor it was the same for them too.

Still I struggled. The only part of my body I could even manage to move was just my head. Apart from my head it felt like every other part of my body was being restrained. This was really rumored power of Daniel Ross. Neutralizing all of us with just his Ki. The more I thought about it the more I got angry and disappointed  felt at myself for being weak.

I still kept struggling but all my struggle was to no avail. My tattered gym outfit was already drenched with my sweat but I could care less about  that now. I kept on struggling to move and then I heard a beeping sound. The beeping sound was definitely coming from my front.

The moment I raised my head to look at the front a bright red light met my sight. Danny was lying unconscious. Danny was out already.

Daniel had already knocked Danny out. There’s one thing for sure this guy is definitely not like Hideyo in anyway. Now that Danny was out the next person close to him was me.

Just thinking about it sent a frantic chill through my body. ‘Shit!’ I need to do something quick or I will be eliminated.

Daniel was already walking casually towards me. Just listening to the sounds of his steps felt like I was listening to my failure coming closer.

Still I didn’t give up. I struggled. I kept struggling. No matter the mountain resting upon me I have to stand up. How will I beat killer Joe if I can’t even get through this tournament? I had to be number one.

However, my determination to succeed wasn’t giving me any power to break through his Ki. Now Daniel was already right in front of me. Shiver struck my whole body as I saw his shadow on the ground right in my front. This was it for me. This was really it for me. That bastard Killer Joe will have to stay longer without facing the punishment for his crime.

Looking back at that day till now, I have not actually felt like I was the one telling my story. I wanted to be a powered human so badly but right after that day I miraculously found hope for me to get into Demons Battle. I got Enhanced. I got right into this Dojo. I participated in this Tournament and won against Arata. All these time I felt unlucky but now that I’m thinking about it. I was actually lucky.

If there was ever a feeling of unluckiness. One thing was for sure I was definitely feeling that feeling now. This is definitely it for me. I had this ominous feeling as I felt a cold wind blew past my body. The wind occurred right after Daniel’s feet made a subtle movement.

Due to his Ki I couldn’t look up at him to know what he did but one thing was for sure. Any second now I would feel a pain and get knocked out. This was really the end of the tournament for me.

Still...

‘I don’t want to lose’

There was definitely no hope for me right now but still...

‘I don’t wanna lose’

No...

“I’m not going to lose!”

I quickly stood back up and there was a sudden bursting sound. The bursting sound came with a significant disturbance in air. At this moment the a hot wind blew and caused the ground to scatter around me.

“Haaa!!!”

I continued screaming and everywhere around me became covered with hot air coming from my bionic arms and legs.

I quickly looked forward and saw Daniel already standing a few distance from me. He backed away the moment I unexpectedly got up.

There was an astonished look on Daniel’s face at this moment as he looked at me. From the look on his face he was probably wondering about how I broke through his ki. Anybody looking at me now would think that I just activated a hidden trump card of mine and broke through his Ki. To be frank I actually didn’t break through his Ki.

I just phased through it.

No at the moment I was still currently phasing and using explosive burst at the maximum level.

I don’t know why I suddenly got an inspiration to use my Enhanced abilities like this. Maybe it was because of my adrenaline but one thing was for sure. Using them like this was draining every single energy my body had at the moment.

Normally I can only use my phasing ability for a moment and it can only be activated once in an hour. Explosive burst was also my second Enhance ability that made me tired every single time I use it.

Both abilities drained my energy when use and right now at this moment I was currently using both Enhanced abilities at the same time.

It was unavoidable. This was the only thing I can do at the moment. My constant phasing was the only thing keeping me from being affected by Daniel’s Ki.

My arms and legs heated up to the extent all the hot temperatures were conducted through my whole body. I could feel the high heat in my right arm as I clenched my fist.

I looked back at Daniel and he was still standing in front of me with a calm expression on his face.

Was this jerk really underestimating me at this moment? Right now that’s not what is important. Either way I knew I had to land this attack.

This was definitely my last attack so I have to take him out no matter what.  The only reason I’m not getting any painful reaction from my body right now was because I was still phasing. I’m definitely sure I won’t be able to move the moment I turn off my phase so I shouldn’t in anyway waste this attack.

I know he’s going to be faster than any opponent I have met so far but I can’t have him dodging this my attack.

With these my heated legs I am going to follow him to the end of hell to land this attack.

“Hahhhhhhh!!!!”

I took crouched down slightly and applied all the strength on my legs and shot forward.

Air broke behind me as launched forward towards Daniel.

The moment I got closer to Daniel he swiftly moved away to the right side to completely avoid me.

In that slight moment I had already gotten to the spot Daniel standing. I quickly gazed at my side to see Daniel looking at me with pitying eyes. He had realized that I came at him with an all out attack and dodged. I had propelled towards him with full charge so at this moment I have no control of my movements. With such power applied in my propulsion it will hard for me to suddenly pull the brakes on my legs.

At least that’s what I made him think..

Daniel could only see my right at the moment where I had already concentrated all my explosive power for an attack. At this moment my left arm suddenly became visible as I stretched it out.

Explosive burst.

An huge explosion was heard in front of me. The explosion I created with my left fist caused me to alter the course of my charge. Now I was totally right in front of Daniel.

At this moment, I knew no matter fast he was there was no way in hell he could avoid me. I had already heated up my right fist just to land this attack. This was where I was going to end it. No matter what I’m going to scale through this Representative Tournament and contest in Demons Battle.

At that second I drew back my heated fist that was bursting out steam and launched it forward to make it collide with Daniel’s face.

I gritted my teeth and experienced intense pleasure from seeing the astonished look on Daniel’s face at this second.

This would be the last time he will be conscious in this tournament. As far as he’s not Hideyo, he will definitely feel this hit. At this moment of a guaranteed hit I turned off my phasing. The moment I turned off the phasing my whole body was struck with intense pain but I couldn’t stop now because the pain. Due to my force of propulsion, slowing down my movements was even impossible so I pressed forward.

“Explosive Burst Max!”

The whole area around us shook and dust rose. The air continued to tear apart. There were now intense steam coming from my bionic limbs. The steam covered almost the whole place that I could hardly see anything. I could see concrete blasting off from the ground. My explosion attacks from my arm lasted for a few seconds before subsiding.

Right after my attack I quickly sucked as much air I could into my mouth as I tried to catch my breath.

I could hardly stand so bent my upper body forward and placed both my hands on my knees for support.

Damn! Using my Enhanced abilities was really exhausting for me.

A few seconds passed and the steam coming out from my bionic limbs had stopped. The air around us had already started clearing up. There was only one question left in mind now. Did I win?

Before I could get my question answered I felt a someone patting me on the shoulder from  behind as i heard a familiar voice.

“Wow that was a nice attack but better luck next time”

‘Shit! How’s this bastard still standing?’

I instinctively moved and turned around to see Daniel standing behind me. His body was looking totally intact. There was not even  scratch on him. I was perplexed. How was he able to completely avoid my attack? How? It was as if my whole world was about to crumble before me. I couldn’t let that happen. I just can’t.

“..You bast-“

I wanted to move but I couldn’t. Was this his ki acting up again. My body suddenly feels really heavy.

I fell to the ground and my vision suddenly became blurry.

I tried to look back up after falling to ground but I just couldn’t see the world clearly. Everywhere started becoming dark. I opened my mouth as I struggled.

“What the..”

A bright red light reflected back at Daniel’s face as he looked down at his beat-up opponent. Gabriel was currently lying unconscious on the floor. The red glowing light from his bracelet was proof that he was already out of the tournament.

“Hmm...at the end of the day I didn’t even need to land a hit on him to eliminate him. He became unconscious due to his own exhaustion”

Daniel looked at the beaten up Gabriel and gave a sigh

“Wow I’m beginning to think the robotic boy is really cool!”

“Either way he lost to Daniel. Even with such a strong attack like that Daniel dodge it with no problem!”

Machia watched the disturbing audience pour out their opinions. A tiresome expression could been seen on Machia’s face as he gave a sigh. He quickly turned his attention away from the disturbing crowd. Apart from the disturbance of the crowd he noticed that there was a thin air of silence between him, Tom and John. Was it because Gabriel lost?

Machia Smiled and placed both his arms around the shoulders of both Tom and John.

“Why are you both quite all of a sudden?”

On a normal circumstances John would be the one to retort at such a moment but right now it was Tom who spoke first. “Machia is now really the time?”

“What are you talking about?”

“ He didn’t win! That’s what I’m saying. How can you be really smiling at a time like this?”

“Huh? To be honest I was not expecting him to last this long in the tournament.”

“What?”

“Guys come on. Don’t you get it. Gabriel competed with all these guys that might have already been training all their life. And he did that given the fact he was a just a regular human.”

Machia was right. Just looking at the whole tournament up on till now almost anyone would forget the fact that Gabriel was still just a regular human. Gabriel had managed to survive that long in a tournament meant for only powered humans.

“You both should be proud of him.”

The eyes of both Tom and John became wide at Machia words. No matter how they where feeling Machia was actually right.

They ought to be proud of Gabriel.

They all stared  back at the screen which displayed Gabriel lying on floor with his eyes closed.

“Man let’s see how the rest of the tournament plays out”

“ Wow is that boy really a regular human?”

The commentator in the room was still feeling amused by the attack that Gabriel had just  pulled out.

“It appears he is. I have to agree  he’s actually the strongest regular human I have met so far but still his power was not enough to stand against Daniel”

They were both watching Daniel at big screen. Right now Daniel was attacked by Agatha before he could turn away from Gabriel.

Even when Agatha performed a surprise attack, there was no positive outcome for her. Instead  Daniel was seen grabbing her by the neck. He hung her above the air like a monkey while she struggled to break free.

The commentator watched the big scream and sighed while leaning back to his seat.

“I guess that concludes the end of Representative tournament. This guy is already the winner. There’s no one that can stand against him now. It’s just him and the remaining members of Group C now”

“What are you even talking about?”

“Huh?”

“How many members makes up The Strongest Five?”

“Well five. The name gave it away”

“Only three Members of The Strongest Five has been eliminated so far...”

A sudden loud sound that grabbed the attention of the everyone was heard from the Big Screen. The loud sound came with a subtle vibration of the entire building.

Nakamura sensei smiled and looked at the Big screen “ There’s still one more member of the Strongest Five that Daniel has to go through before he can assume the title of the winner.”
