Lisa Klein was a girl raised to chase only the best provider. It took time and much effort before she landed Jason Clarke. She knows he sometimes step out on her. It was acceptable as long as everyone knows she was his girlfriend.
“How is this possible?” she asked herself softly. “Just yesterday he was poor now today he can afford the most expensive item in the shop.”She stood motionless letting the last two weeks played off in her mind…Danny always picking her up at the entrance of the road leading towards their little house snuggly hidden between the heavy tree branches. She always made certain not one of her friends ever saw them together. She quietly admits she did enjoy the outings on the little boat in the lake in their background. She remembered ‘him’ making her laugh like she used too when she was a little girl.“Danny…” she whispered his name. She suddenly like the taste of his name on her tongue. She slowly start to realized she made a mistake…Jason was the obvious choice but she now understood he was picking a fight because he didn’t want to buy the purse.Danny was very uncomfortable with everyone looking at him like he just grown two heads. He reached for the package wanting to just leave. He noticed the sudden change of attitude with Lisa. He was going to that party but he certainly don’t want or need a person like ‘her’ in his life. Now with the package in hand he start to move towards the door. He just want to get away from these people.“Don’t go, Danny.” Lisa suddenly wrap her arms around his neck pushing her body up against him.“What…what are you…doing?” he asked hesitantly. He gritted on his teeth fighting to control his body. A quick remembrance of his humiliation brought his body to heel.“Don’t be like that Danny.” she purrs seductively.“Let go, Lisa.” he tries to move away from her. He was feeling very uncomfortable.“I can’t…you and I belong together.” Lisa tried kissing him but her lips landed on the side of his cheek.Danny removed her clingy arms from around his neck. He just realized she left him cold. He quickly looked at Jason. He noticed the confusion on his face.Jason was in shock. He can’t seem to comprehend how the tables managed to change without him even being aware. He can’t understand how the biggest loser in town could afford something he can’t. He watched his fuck-buddy clinging to the guy like her stupid life depend on it.“Lisa…what the fuck?” he start to growl finally finding his voice.“What, Jason?”“Get over here, now, bitch.”“Don’t you dare call me that,” she yelled back trying to reach for Danny again.“You are acting like a money-grabbing bitch.” He said through his teeth.“Danny…are you going to allow him to talk to me like that?” Lisa asked with sudden fake tears in her eyes.“He’s your boyfriend. Isn’t it the usual way you both conversing with each other?” he asked with contempt.“Danny…take that back. I love you.”“No, you don’t.” he start to walk past her. Again, she grabbed his arm halting him.“You better stop that guy.” Jason warned suddenly.“Why?” Cleo has been enjoying the social circus playing in the store. She was still uncertain who she wanted to win. One thing was certain the girl was behaving like a slut, giving all girls a bad name.“How is it possible that you could trust him? Look at him.”“Sir, the card spoke the truth.” Cleo defend her transaction.“We all heard the fucking card, bitch.”“Hey, you…stop calling the girls ‘bitch’.” Danny was suddenly angry. He was raised poor but his father taught him to always respect the females.Jason step closer fast hitting him hard in the stomach. Danny buckled with the force of the pain. “I had enough of this. Get out of my face you bloody loser.” He moved again to attack.Danny grabbed his foot forcing him to lose his balance fast. “Stop making me your punching bag.”“How dare you?” Jason managed to balance himself again.“I had enough of all of you.” Danny grabbed his package and moved towards the door again.“He is a bloody thief.” Jason declared with sudden conviction.“What are you talking about? I stole nothing. The card…it belongs to me.” Danny said very angry.“You are a thief. I saw you steal it.” Jason said with a challenged accusation. He needs to turn the tables in his favor.Danny suddenly stood motionless after he very carefully placed the package on the counter. He slowly looked around the shop, the people has gathered around him. It was now clear everyone thinks he was a thief.“I am no thief, Miss.” He looked directly at Cleo who was now in open conflict.“We have to verify the claim, sir.”“Why are you talking to the thief with that type of voice, bitch?”Cleo reach for the button under the counter. She was in trouble but not certain what to do. She looked at everyone but knowing she must find the solution.“What do you want me to do?” she suddenly questioned Jason with fury flashing over her face.“Search the fucker. His type is so fast in taking what doesn’t belong to them. If I didn’t paid attention he would have walked away.” Jason declare with open spite.“I stole nothing.” Danny said furious.“Liar.” Jason goaded him.“You are trying to cover your own ass, bastard.”“Excuse me!”“No, I won’t. You can’t afford the purse now you turning your broke ass on me. I had enough.”Danny watched Jason turned purple with fury and shame. He was now ready for the next attack. He had about enough being the punching bag of the football team.“Danny…”Lisa’s call distracted him. She also managed to stop Jason.“What?” Danny swallow the bile rising in his throat.“Prove Jason wrong.” She said softly looking at Cleo for assistance.“What do you mean?” Danny looked around again.“Sir, would you mind and empty your pockets?” Cleo asked. A look of relief washes over her face when she noticed the approached of the Manager.“Excuse me!” Danny looked at them all with a sudden expressionless face.“Fucking thief.” Jason said with a nasty expression on his face.Danny looked at Lisa…a cold look in his eyes.He looked at Jason with the sudden knowledge he was going to destroy him.He finally looked at a very nervous Cleo and pushed his hands into his pockets. He removed the keys from his house putting it on the counter along with his cell phone. He removed everything from within his pockets not even paying attention since he knows the rest are coins and odd and ends from his childhood.“I told you he was a thief.” Jason said with satisfaction. "You better sort this situation quickly.""You are making a mistake.""You made it by entering this store fool." Jason said glaring at him.“I told you all I saw him steal something.” Jason said sounding satisfied. “Look at the evidence.” He pointed towards the things laying on the counter. “What are you talking about?” Danny looked at what he placed on the counter. His heart nearly stopped when he saw the diamond hairpin amongst his things. He was at a complete loss as to how that thing ended up amongst his stuff. He slowly looked towards Jason knowing he did it somehow. No matter how he searched his mind he can’t remember how he did this. “That’s not mine,” Danny said honestly. “Always the thief’s path of denial.” Jason said snidely. “I don’t know how you did this…you are the thief.” Danny said flatly. “Your Daddy raised a thief.” Jason decided to taunt him. “You will regret that,” Danny warned. “What’s going on here?” Jess Stone, the Manager suddenly made her presence known. “I am not sure what happened Miss Stone but it appears as though the customer might have stolen something.” Cleo declared her position. Je
Danny step out of the shop confused about what had just happened. As he walked towards the taxi he suddenly realized the truth. He quickly search for the signet ring, suddenly knowing the Manager knew which family he belonged too. “Now I understand why father said keep it close.” He said shaking his head. “The power in something so small.” About to get into the taxi he was surrounded by Jason and his friends. One look into Billy-Bob’s eyes and he knew he was in trouble again. “Loser…heard you are making trouble.” Billy-Bob said while bulging his muscles. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Danny said flatly. “Are you calling me a liar?” “No, you are stupid.” Danny wonders if the ring was giving him courage. Just yesterday he wouldn’t have dared talking like that. “Grab the fool,” Billy-Bob orders his underdogs. Danny decided to run. At the moment he doesn’t care that he was a coward. He just don’t want to arrive at the party full of blood. One thing was certain, after t
“Danny,” The chill on his skin woke him. He blinked several times before he realized he looked at a gauntlet of people. His mind felt fuzzy as he struggled to recall what happened. The last coherent thought was his father calling him to inform him he was receiving his own mansion. “Guys, the loser is waking up.” Jason stuffed his money into his pocket. He wipes what appeared to be blood from the inside of his lips. “What…” he tried to form words but his throat felt dry. As he tried wetting his lips, he felt the cracked skin and dried blood on his lips. “Took your bloody time,” Billy-Bob now stood beside Jason. “We good, bro?” he looked at Jason who just nods his head. “What about him?” Danny tried blinking his eyes. His thoughts was still fuzzy. He tried to focus on the conversation right in his face. He quietly understood he was in serious trouble. “Let the police deal with him.” Jason said. “What if he somehow convinced them he was innocent?” Billy-Bob asked a bit anxious. “N
Denver sits motionless trying to figure out what just happened. There was definitely a shift in his reality but he just can't seem to recognize the significance."Dude, are you okay? I hope you aren’t drugged. I don’t need the hassle.” The taxi driver looked at him through the rearview mirror. “I am just cold,” Danny tries his best to warm himself. He just knew something happened; but who can he talk to about what had occurred. “Get out.” The driver suddenly annoyed. “You made me drive around all night. I had enough.” Danny opened the door getting out. He paid the man. He slowly looked around. The mansion was situated against the side of a mountain. He start to walk up the road. He knew he was in trouble with his father, it couldn’t be helped once his cell phone died. “Stop,” the guard suddenly made an appearance from behind the trees. “What the hell?” Danny was instantly annoyed. He hates being scared by other people. He was still nervous and uncertain about the strange happening
“Welcome home, brother of mine.” Danny step inside his focus on the woman right in front of him. Looking at her he recognize his own image within her. He felt the familiarity from her touch. “Who are you?” He just has to ask although the truth looks directly at him.“Joslin, your twin.” She said simply. “Why did I never knew about you?” “That’s a question for the parents.” “Isn’t Mom dead?” “What give you that idea?” “It’s simple, I was raised by father.” “I was raised by Mom.” “I don’t understand.” Danny looked at her searching her face. He can’t senses any type of lie from her. He stuffed his hand into his pocket when he suddenly remembers the ring. Taking his one hand out to look at the signet ring. When he looked up he saw her showing her ring for him. “What’s with the rings?” “The family line.” “Where is father?” “He is at the office. I requested this meeting.” Joslin looked at her twin. She tried sensing his mood but there was no connection between them. “”How old a
The door to the interrogation room opened. Detective Duncan grabbed Danny by the arm pulling him upright. “What’s going on?” “Shut up. You have the right to remain silent.” “I don’t understand?” Danny said. “Anything you say or do will be used against you.” “What’s happening?” “Do you understand your rights as I just told you?” The handcuffs tighten around his writs. He was forced back into the chair. “What’s your name?” The detective opened a file. “I don’t understand what’s going on?” “Answer the question. What’s your name?” “Denver Ricardo.” “How old are you?” “I am eighteen years.” “Where do you live?” “I just bought Craven’s Hill.” Danny said flatly. Detective Duncan looked sharply at him. He frowned. He realized he was already in trouble just by hearing the surname being confirmed. “Where were you last night?” “I was briefly at a party.” “Whose party?” “Lisa Klein. What’s going on?” “Can someone confirm this?” “Yes, “ “Who?” “Bella Simone. I was her plus o
“Mister Ricardo?” Detective Duncan stood in the door of another interrogation room. He was nervous as hell as he looked at the young man who could make serious trouble for him. “Yes, sir?” Danny felt tired but too much on edge. It was with immense inner strength that he managed to control the nervousness in his body. “You may make your phone call.” “No thanks,” Danny said quickly. “Why not?” Duncan was surprise. “How is Jason Clarke?” “He will live. It was just a superficial wound. I am curious about something. Do you mind answering?” Danny looked at the older man. He already noticed the difference in the man’s new attitude. The man has probably figured out who he was. Now another moral question: should he be punished for doing his job?“What?” “Why didn’t you try to escape? It was clear those men were here for you.” “Whatever reason would they have to try and break me out? I did nothing wrong.” “There were complaints against you. Maybe your family wanted to protect you?” D
Danny slowly opened his eyes. It has a burning sensation. He lift his head trying to figure out what just happened. His eyes keeps on tearing. He finally realized he was stripped of his clothes and his hands were no longer tied together. “What…” he quickly looked at his hand. He was very relieved when he discovered the ring was still on his finger. “You better move, if you know what’s good for you.” The stranger’s voice said from somewhere. Danny slowly realized he heard that voice before. “Where are you?” he asked looking around. “Stop wasting time. Once those idiots finished snorting cocaine, they will come for you.” Danny looked towards the garage door. It was closed. The only way out he noticed was the small window. His immediate trouble was his length. “Do you know a way out of here?” “Yes,” “Then tell me,” Danny asked quickly. “What will be the fun of it all?” “Aren’t you here to help me?” Danny asked furious. The moment his voice rings through the garage, the football
