Nana held the burning torch while she stared deadly at the beheaded body. The breeze blew faintly, allowing the strands of her red hair that had managed to escape from her tight bun get into her face. She threw the torch to the pyre and it caught fire immediately. The black smoke that erupted from the pyre forced her to take some steps back, she coughed incessantly till she could finally control it. Her eyes became watery but she continued to watch the smoke disappear into the soft breeze of the peaceful evening. She watched till all that was left were ashes where there used to be a head and a body. She watched for a long time before she was able to drag her feet that had now grown heavy from exhaustion along with her. She bent to the pyre then started putting the ashes into a vase.
