Bryan was slicing fruit for his mother-in-law when his phone rang. He looked around to make sure there’s no one close to him before picking it up.

“Liana. I remember I’ve told you not to contact me unless it's necessary." He lowered his voice and said a bit harshly.

"Sorry, Mr. Bryan. But congratulations! Your wife has achieved great success. She has finally made it and become the best actress in Glare, standing on the stage of Heavenwood and enjoying the attentions from all over the world.” A gentle and pleasant female voice came from the phone.

Bryan was first stunned, then as if suddenly remembering something, he reproached himself, "Oh, damn it, I didn’t know this important thing!"

But then he couldn’t help muttering, “But...why didn’t Amelia tell me to attend the ceremony with her?” He felt a little upset.

As Amelia’s husband, he should be allowed to accompany with her. Also more importantly, he wanted to tell the whole world that Amelia is his wife! But he had lost the best opportunity.

“Shut up! You useless trash!” She glared fiercely at Bryan and shouted to cut off his explanation.

In fact, she didn't hate apples and bananas, she was just looking for trouble.

Bryan stood there, suffering from her chattering. It wasn't the first time he had heard those humiliations, but out of respect to his wife, he also respect her mother.

Finally, Mrs. Hailey got tired of scolding him. She took a glass of water that Bryan handed over, took a sip and looked at him with disgust, shouting, “ Get lost! Don’t block me from watch TV.”

At this moment, Bryan saw the live broadcast of the Grayer Awards Ceremony on the screen, and exactly, it was his wife's turn!

"That's my daughter!" Mrs. Hailey excitedly shouted, but she soon got calm when she saw Bryan.

"But...she is my wife..." Bryan protested, he even wanted to tell this snob what he had secretly done for his wife.

However, he can’t expose it because Amelia always hoped to succeed because of her own hard work.

"You are not even worthy to be Amelia’s husband. My superstar daughter deserves better man! Hump, clean up the room right now!" she commanded, her eyes full of contempt.

Bryan knew arguing with her was baseless. So he hurriedly picked up the rag and started cleaning the living room.

The stage anchor's voice boomed from the TV, "And here we have our beautiful, talented Amelia, the best actress of the year. Please welcome her with a round of applause!"

Bryan stole glances at the TV as he cleaned up the room. He quietly joined in the clapping.

Amelia collected the award and began her acceptance speech:

"Thank you so much for this incredible honor. All thanks to my fans, team, and supporters. First, I'd like to thank my wonderful mother for always believing in me and supporting me every step of the way. Your unwavering love and guidance have been my anchor.”

Mrs. Hailey laughed excitedly, very proud of her daughter; Bryan's eyes were glued to the TV, confident that his name would be mentioned then. He knew that!

“I also want to express my deep gratitude to my amazing director and other teammates, they really taught me a lot...”

Bryan felt anxious. As time went by, he didn’t hear anything relevant to him in Amelia’s speech.

“But Why? I’m her husband!” Bryan thought in mind, feeling disappointed.

Bryan's eyes flushed and his heart melted. “It's me! Wow, I can't believe there is a day Amelia would appreciate me like this. I love you too, Amelia.” he muttered back

However, on TV, her loving gaze was passing through the crowd of spectators and falling on a handsome young man in the middle of the audience, who was beyond the range of the camera.
