The group moved on, and along the way, they were presented with groups of hideous creatures, like the Sloth Eaters, at close proximity. Anabella had, at some point, moved closer to Jason. Roy had also moved closer to Joe, who had Adolf on his back as usual. And even he, seemed repulsed. Jason as well. 'I won't lie... I am more disgusted than frightened. No. The only time I was really frightened, was when I died. Now that... was true fear.' He thought, and as he thought, he arrived at the door of one of the many houses around here. The houses weren't even houses, but the group settled on that word. They were large enough to hold three to four people comfortably, with not much free space for each. But the shack before them was even larger, being half a size larger, to almost twice the size. Hence even a group of ten could be crammed inside it. Of course, without much space to breathe. "So we will be going in, but I warn you, you won't be comfortable inside. Still wanna go?" Jason
Roy felt himself losing control over his body. It began trembling in fear, and his breathe also became torn and raggered. But the demon didn't stop there. It also widened its eyes, and along with a maddened smile that stretched out to reach both of his ears, it was nightmarish. And to make matters worse, it took baby steps towards him. Roy lost hope at that point, and could even hear his own breathe from a mile away. Even his chest was heaving up and down. 'It's over. It's over. Its over. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die.' He continously thought. The demon walked all the way close to him, and lowered its body closer to his face. It's breathe brushed past his face, smelling like sulphur and burnt flesh. "..." Roy still did not move, and had his eyes tightly shut. He couldn't even muster up the courage to call out for help, or beg for mercy. Fear had taken over his entire biology, shutting down 90% of his thoughts. Right now, he was ready to accept death at any moment.
A flash of light appeared within the sea of green mist, and from it, Jason and his group appeared, sprawled on the ground. "Ugh..." Jason sat up feeling groggy and light headed, and checked Beatrice for any wounds from the fall. 'Thank God she's okay, but damn, does my head hurt.' He thought to himself, and then checked the well being of everybody else. Anabella was okay, and had just sat up. Joy and Adolf seemed relatively alright as well, as well as Roy. Brute and Pertina were okay as well. As for Timicus... Ah, Timicus... '...Shit, the poor guy was left behind. He's probably dead by now.' He thought, then closing his eyes to try and sense his duplicate. Anabella and his group also r***2ealized this, and were left in silence, each having heavy thoughts weighing down on their hearts. 'Is this... what the end of the world means?' Anabella thought, now being aware of how ruthless and cold blooded Jason could be, if push came to shove. 'I have to be extra careful around him from
「Fire!!」 Boom~!! A distinct voice of anger and vigor rang out, followed by a blaring explosion that lit up the entire misty night sky like a blooming sun. "The hell..?!" "Kyaaa!!" Jason and his group were startled into covering their eyes protectively. The light above was too bright, and almost blinded them, which was an unpleasant feeling. "Kreeaaaa..!!" "Kaaaaa..!!" The half-demon imps seemed to have felt the same, as they shrieked in pain amidst scrambling away, leaving the sorounding region in peace and silence. "What... just happened?" Jason queried in stupor. When he opened his eyes, the green mist within a hundred meter radius was gone, and the area was as bright as day. If not brighter "...The hell?" Meanwhile, the half-demon imps, ranging within the hundreds, crumbled down weakly, evaporating into dried mummy husks of their former selves, before disintegrating into dust. Joe and the others also saw through this, and marveled in fear and amazement at such miraculous
While Jason and his group were having their own mishaps and troubles, his duplicate was not faring well either. In fact, it fated much worse than them. 'This... is a hell zone.' It pondered on the overall situation it was in. It was a hopeless situation for anyone. No, a dreadfully dire situation. The green mist aside, there were zombies everywhere, in all shapes and forms. Some crawled, some slithered, some hopped... but one thing was definitely for sure... 'They are human-like? No, it's better to say that they are novaks instead, since this is their world.' It assessed, holding Timicus down and grasping his jaws tightly. This locked out any options for the man to let out any sound. The both of them concealed themselves behind a dead branch, being blanketed by a veil of light that made them invisible from the naked eye. Yet that alone, failed to difuse the unease and dread that both young man felt. It was far from achieving that motive, miles far. 'Man... at times like this, I w
The duplicate flew through the skies with the one armed Timicus. Behind them, a swarm of red was tailing after them on its radar, threatening to swarm it red. And as if to make matters worse, below, was an endless sea of monsters and zombies, all in different forms and mutations, different sizes and shapes. But one thing remained the same, they were detestable, they were unacceptable, they were repulsive, and most of all, they were dangerous. 'If only I could get a day, just a day of relaxation, I wouldn't mind anything else. But no, these things just keep piling up one after another. Man, I really need a rest.' It thought in frustration and annoyance. At the same time, it realized how the speed of the chasers were twice as fast as its, if not ten times faster, hence they would sooner or later... 'Catch up to us.' It assessed. It then became invisible, and increased its height of altitude to go even higher than before. At this point, they could not even make out the ground due to
"Then what do you know?" Jason's duplicate snarled, now being beyond irritated at the guy. 'Can't I just kill you off?' It thought. "..." Timicus felt pressured and lost for words. He was not someone important to know a lot, nor was a he a Novak, who were allowed within libraries and institutions of history. "Fuck it. Actually, I've been curious about this Star Goddess of yours. How powerful is she exactly? You should know that much, right?" The duplicate changed the topic, and Timicus took the opportunity given to him. "You mean Goddess Stella? She is quite illusory to us, and almost, close to being nothing but a legend. Maybe not even a legend, because we don't have much records about her." He immediately replied. "Then why the yell are you guys worshipping her for?" The duplicate queried, a bit curious. Though it would understand, since there was multiple such people back on earth. The considered "mobs" and "followers", who will listen to anything the others say. And most of
"What now?" Pertina immediately asked, making sure to stay as close to Jason as possible. Anabella subconscious furrowed her brows looking at that, but she said nothing. Meanwhile, Jason finally took a glimpse at the notifications that rushed in amidst his run. There were plenty of them, and he only briefed over them. [ You've killed a lot of preys within a short span of time, your obtained energy essence is being calculated ] [ You've killed a lot of preys within a short span of time, your obtained energy essence is being calculated ] [ You've killed a lot of preys within a short span of time, your obtained hunting points are being calculated ] [ You've killed a lot of preys within a short span of time, your obtained hunting points are being calculated ] Jason briefed through the notifications as fast as he could, then focused more the matter at hand. "We will relax from now on." He said, and as expected, his words shocked everyone. "Relax? Relax?! Why should we be relaxing, w
