Two days before the Selection and the Palace has already completed its preparation for the First Game. Participants were already told what to do and what not to do. Clothes for the commoners have arrived, too. Eurydice promised Ares that he would be sent there so that he would feel at ease having other people around him, but as of now, he just stayed on the same wing as the other Princes.
Icarai said he would be changing rooms once he is introduced during the First Game.
While Ares and Icarai were sorting out the clothes he would be wearing for the First Game, Ares became conscious of this 'introduction'. "What would others say if they knew I skipped the Trials?"
Icarai shook his head, "Nothing."
"Icarai, do you know Kagome?" The overtired servant raised his sight from this desk to Ares. Piles of paperwork stacked on the right side of this desk and only a few on his left. It meant that Icarai was almost finished with his work and was done for the day. However, his mere seconds of rest were interrupted when Ares knocked on his door after meeting a certain 'special' participant. "Kagome Kusanagi?" Icarai's eyes widened. "How did you...?" "I met her earlier while visiting the participants' sleeping wing as you told me. She terrorized and took one of the rooms that was supposed to be for Sir Daelan." "Daelan's room was taken by Kagome?" Icarai brushed his face with his hand. "My. What a problem that woman was." Ares's curious amber eyes gleamed, "She is one of the 'special' people invited to the First Game directly. Tell me more about her." Icarai sighed and rested his throbbing spine on the cushions of his swivel chair, "Kagome is Prince Yue's servant. But now she is his riv
Prince Desalogia and his company rested for a few minutes on the side of the road. People turned their eyes to his small group which consisted of a few bodyguards, his personal assistant, and a caretaker. A few of his servants entered the tavern nearby to sit and drink. The Prince had already taken a few shots of beer inside and decided to stay outside for fresh air.He stayed near his horse while looking at the Palace not far ahead and the soaring towers that climbed all the way to the top. The Prince rubbed his hand against his flushed face and took a deep breath before leaning against his horse. He was about to pull a box of cigar when suddenly, he found a familiar face in the distance approaching him that bore the sigil of the Queen.Icarai, the Queen's advisor, henchman, and errand boy- gallop
A blue and red flag with a golden wyvern in the middle freely danced in the breeze as the stadium slowly settled guests from far lands. Numerous outlanders came to witness the First Game. Mighty nobles came with their daughters, hoping they would find suitable men.Thirty participants remained on the battlefield. The five princes, the knight, and the others who were commoners and nobles who happened to be lucky. The candidates were fresh from their month's rest and were given beautiful clothes. The Queen could not fully watch the competition if they were dressed in rags.Women from the bleachers screamed and waved a cloth with the names of the candidate they support. The majority of them were a fan of the princes. One part of the bleachers, which were elevated a little higher- was intended for the V.I.Ps. There, some of the kings and queens from oth
THE KING SELECTIONS━━━━━⊱✿⊰━━━━━FIRST GAMETrumpets blared in the air, marking the commencement of the first game. The magic-powered stadium booms into life as the sound of gears and cogs churned from underneath the stone platform. A barrier then grows from the circumference of the stadium, protecting the audience from the battlefield. Some would reach out to the shield, touching it with their little fingers.Children, the light-hearted, and pregnant women weren't allowed to watch the Selection."All eyes on the screen please," Icarai asked everyone.A magical screen appears out of thin air displaying an image of glass platform on top of an ocean. ━━━━⊱✿⊰━━━━THE KING SELECTIONS HANDBOOKOnce again, the following are not qualified to proceed, and these qualifications are checked a week before a Game starts.1.) Marital status.2.) Health status3.) Injuries, a king must not have injuries, his skin must be flawless despite going through hell during the games. It is a challenge given by Eurydice herself, as she believes that only a true, powerful man can push through battles without a scar- can become king.
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?!" Kagome flailed her arms just to keep herself floating. She tried to avoid the glass shards that swept in her direction. Thankfully, she had been fully clothed and the shards only grazed the cloth. Ares could only count the remaining people with them. He no longer knew if the others were going to be fetched in the deep sea. If he had the time, he would've gone for them, but that would risk his entry. He could see the bodies of the others who were unconscious when Kraken knocked them over as he emerged from the sea. Some drowned and were slowly sinking. Sir Daelan did not think twice and swam after them. But he couldn't save them all. Prince Kael, who couldn't bear to think that others were dying, helped recover them as fast as he could. He was a fast swimmer, and being the fittest and well-built amongst the participants, he knew he had the capacity to help. Being a prince meant one. Though they weren't his people, he imagined they were and
"Out of my way, miscreant." Desalogia bellowed at the male who broke his mighty sword. His merciless icy blue eyes gleamed more than the ocean beneath them, and there was not a spark of kindness behind them. Ares was in front of him, cold and unforgiving. He was not going to allow the prince to kill the beast."Make me," Ares replied in a dead tone.Desalogia grabs a dagger from his boot and dashes toward Ares. He swung his sharp weapon repeatedly trying to graze the male but Ares was too good at evading his attacks. Ares could feel Desalogia's mighty blows getting into him. He could tell that the prince was a veteran.Ares kept on dodging. He couldn't do anything else. If he ever struck him back, he would surely bleed and that would make him disqualified for the next Game."Perhaps I
There are no gods nor deities living amongst humans.Only demons.Eurydice strode across the long corridor right after the end of the First Game. She did not bother congratulating the rest of the participants and only left with a big scowl on her once-dainty face. The maids whom the Queen passed by turned into stone when she suddenly appeared out of nowhere like a ghost roaming the halls. She was looking for someone. No, it wasn't Ares. She continued walking until she found the person she was looking for. There, Prince Desalogia was hunched over in a corner, eyes staring blankly at the empty wall with his lips pursed in a line. His palm was placed near his bleeding forehead which he was trying to heal with the magic he learned. He shifted his head to the side.Latest Chapter
