Chapter Seven

She was wearing a knee-length dress that hugged her curves in all the right places. The dress was a vibrant shade of crimson, accentuating her radiant complexion. Her long, flowing hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of silk, adding an air of elegance to her already captivating presence.

As she walked further into the room, Ares stared in awe. He couldn't help but be mesmerized by her beauty, staring at her in complete awe.

Okay this was definitely going to be harder than he thought.

Last time he found a woman so captivating was his ex Camila.

Elna is a goddess.

"Dad, who is this?" She questions taking in more of Ares.

The way her nose cringed had Ares mentally facepalm himself.

Not her either.

"Elena my dear, come" Her father ushers.

She moved towards him. He guided her to the chair seating her down before he motioned with his eyes for Ares to sear as well.

"He's the person we talked about–"

She bolts up, "What!" Unbelievably.

There we go again, Ares thought to himself, he was all so tired of the scene beholding. First it was her mother and now her.

All rich people are so full of themselves. They think so highly of themselves and so little of the less fortunate.

How unfortunate.

"No Dad. You can't be serious" She said, her eyes already glistening with tears. "I can't get married, at least not to him."

"Elena–"

"No Dad. Just look at him, he looks like he barely has enough to manage his life then how on earth do you expect him and I to work out? "she reasons.

Each word of hers pierced through Ares' heart.

"Just listen to me!" Lucas cuts off urging her to burst into tears.

Lucas sighed pulling her Into a comforting hug, "No one said you have to work things out Elena. Consider this a business deal–"

She hurriedly pulled away, "Is that what I am to you Dad? Huh? For goodness sake I'm your daughter, how could you even think of doing this to me."

She then turns to Ares who stood stiff observing the father and daughter heated up conversation.

"And you!" She turns to Ares sending daggers his way.

How cute, he thought.

He moved uncomfortably, "Y-yes!" He stuttered giving in the reaction they wanted.

"Listen to me. You are nothing and will never be anything, to think you have a chance with me shows how absurd and hungry you are–"

His eyes burn into hers as he spoke or more like mumbled, "Mind what you say to me" he spoke letting his rage consume him.

Elena laughed wearily, "Or what? What are you going to do about it? Huh! You pathetic stupid excuse" she insults.

He shut his eyes for a sec sucking in his anger. He couldn't let her get to him.

Not when he's come this far.

She should count herself lucky she's cute, he would have shut off her rude lips.

"Or what?" She asked yet again, bringing him back to reality.

"Sorry" he feebly muttered.

She hissed, turning to her Dad, "Seriously Dad, is this what you want to have in our family, you want him as a son in law?" She says.

"We don't have a choice. That's what I'm trying to make you understand Elena. This would end before you know it." Lucas tries to reason.

"Please Dad, not him. I beg of you please, he's–" She broke down.

Ares finally decided to speak up, "I think I should leave now" he announced.

"No. I'm not done with you" Mr Kingsley says.

"Dad, please excuse us," Elena says, wiping off her tears.

"Elena" Lucas called.

She given him a nod, "I'll be fine"

He gave Ares a last glare before walking away. Ares had his eyes glued to Lucas' retiring figure, not taking his stare off not until he was out of view.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She asks, pulling off a daring look.

Yet again Ares found it cute, to which he chuckled.

"Ares Russor," he answered. "And what do I want?" He says stepping further causes Elena to inch back.

Till her back hit the wall. Ares placed a hand by the side leaning in, "You. I want you" he mumbled his breath fanning her face.

She hissed, pushing him off, "What are you doing? Get of me you creep"

He shakes his head.

"Can't you speak to whoever Dad has gotten involved with to cancel this?" Elena tried to reason.

"Look princess—"

She cut him off, "I'll pay you double of what he is paying you. You can have anything just call this off, tell him you can't do this, please"

The desperation in her voice was evident; you can tell she was on the verge of breaking down.

"I can't do that," Ares says, breathing down a heavy sigh.

"But why? Please! You can just come into my life and try ruining. I don't want you, you and I can never happen. We don't belong together and you know that. I'm way above your league and the sooner you understand that the better" She blurts with pure venom.

"Well then, I guess you don't have a choice at all." Ares says turning to leave.

A few steps ahead Elena's words halt his steps.

"Fine then. You'll regret this, I'll make you and by the time I'm done with you, you'll spend the rest of your fucked up life I'm regret." She says in-between sobs.

Ares clenched his fist digesting what she had just said, "Game on"

She laughed at one filled with soreness, "Now I see why DuPont did what they did to you asshole. You fucking deserve it, you hungry greedy son of a bitch"

Walking away is the only way out of this or he'd turn on his shoe and put her in her right place but he knew better than to do that.

So he did, walking off.
