The fruit knife lodged in Edgar’s lower back was still dripping with blood. Roger pushed him to the ground, and Daisy knelt beside him, both her hands pressed tightly over his mouth and nose.

The loud noise from behind startled the couple. When they turned their heads, they had the living daylights scared out of them.

Beefy Bob darted forward, grabbing Roger’s shoulders and shoving him aside.

Isaac walked over and put the oxygen mask back on. He patted Watson’s shoulder and said, “Old Kane, stay calm. You can wait until you recover before handling this.”
