Brody’s phone vibrated just as they were speaking. He paused when he saw the incoming number, then got up and walked outward.

“Hello, Mr. Hamilton. How may I help you?”

“Brody, the secretary asked me to pass you a message. Listen carefully.”

Brody braced himself and held his head high. “Yes, sir. I’m listening.”

“Mistakes are costly, and somebody must pay. Did you get it? Come, repeat after me.”
