Tristan laughed. He crooked a finger at Cameron and said, “That’s good to hear, buddy. Come over here. I’ll never hurt a hair on my friend!”

Cameron paused. He looked at Isaac hesitantly.

“Do as you wish,” Isaac said impassively as he lighted a cigarette. Halfway across the lawn, Cameron heard Isaac say, “Tristan Martin, if you let Allegra go now, I may grant you a quick and merciful death.”

Scornfully, he quickened his pace and stood beside Tristan.

Isaac must be crazy to think that his team of three stood a chance against their army of ten. Where was he getting this confidence from? Did he really believe that the Martin family’s guards were no more than street thugs?
