There was a lot of commotion outside. Allegra overheard them talking about someone named Evie. Someone asked Isaac about his relationship with Evie.

Soon, Isaac reentered the bedroom on tiptoes. He slid under the covers.

Isaac heard Allegra’s uneven breathing; was she still awake?

But that was all he heard. He didn’t think it was a good time to explain anything now, so he drifted off to sleep.

Allegra didn’t sleep well and woke up feeling sluggish the next morning. She felt something behind her. She forgot she wasn’t alone on the bed and reached out to grab it subconsciously.

Then, she heard Isaac inhaling sharply.

Allegra was stunned. Almost immediately, she screamed, losing all signs of sleepiness. She sprung upright in bed, blushing fervently.

“Um, did I scare you? I need the washroom.” Isaac got off the bed and ran into the washroom.

When they were having breakfast, Allegra’s phone rang all of a sudden. It was an unknown number. She swiftly answered the call.

“Mr. Marsh? H
