Phineas tensed up when he saw Quade coming toward them. He instantly looked outside and was relieved to see no one else.

"Why are you here?" Isaac snorted at Quade. He glued his bottom to the couch.

Quade noticed his attitude, peered at him, and smirked. "Sir Earl wanted me to hand this letter to you—he's challenging you to a duel to the death ten days from now on Mt. Equest. Oh, I forgot. I'm here on behalf of Earl Ashleigh, division leader of the Everest Division."

Quade's hand stopped midair with the letter, but Isaac didn't accept it.

"Mr. Garten, don't…" Phineas blurted out, wanting to advise Isaac against it, but he covered his mouth halfway through his sentence.

Quade lifted an eyebrow and asked mockingly, "What's wrong? You don't have the guts?"

Isaac slowly took the letter, saying coldly, " Tell your employer this: Ten days is too long. I'll meet him on Mt. Equest after three days."

"Three days?" Quade frowned.

They originally planned to wait for Trace's wounds to heal
