Night approached. Evie was worried she would get her father in trouble and wanted to leave, but Isaac held her back.

After chatting with her, he finally knew why Earl would come looking for him. It was all because of Evie.

"If you go back now, aren't you just surrendering yourself to the army camp?" Isaac asked Evie in a low voice.

Evie bit her lips and said nothing. She was worried about her father but also feared that she wouldn't be able to find Isaac again if she left him this time. Moreover, she really didn't want to see Earl's face again.

"But I can't stay here. Your wife…" Evie brought up the one thing that was holding her back the most.

Isaac frowned. However, his expression returned to normal very quickly after that. He smiled and said, "If you don't mind, I can explain everything to Ally. Why don't you stay for the night?"
