BOOOOOM.
CRASH.
The entire forest shuddered and the trees in Raylin’s immediate vicinity were blown to bits, splinters of bark rained down on the forest floor.
As he glanced around him, he dashed in the direction of one of his assailants, that attack wasn’t enough to kill them, but it did all he needed it to do, before the dust could settle he located the second swordsman who was currently lying flat on the ground with a bloodied face.
‘Subclass ability: [Fury Unleashed]’
The red energy intensified around Raylin’s fist he jumped forward landing on top of his opponent and aimed to land a crippling blow.
Boom.
As his fist sunk down, a sudden interruption occurred, something strange occurred as Raylin’s fist continued to move, but it was no longer closing in on the swordsman.
The area around his fist stretched like an infinite rubber band, absorbing his entire arm.
“Seal,” a woman’s voice echoed through the forest.
Raylin’s eyes shrunk as he felt the space around his hand start to compress, “Dammit!” he cursed and focused on his arm suddenly the red protective energy shattered, but in its wake another piercing red energy emerged.
The red energy was brighter than the sun, while the energy poured out of his body he ripped his arm out of the stretched space, it snapped shut immediately after.
“Argh,” Raylin groan as soon as he pulled his hand out the red energy dissipated and revealed his hand, there was a bloody ring around his bicep where the stretched space tried to tear of his arm, as for the rest of his arm it was in a far worse state.
But he didn’t get time to examine the damage, the moment he pulled his arm free the swordsman had already recovered and swiped up aiming for his arm.
Raylin gritted his teeth and moved his hand to intercept the blade, metal struck metal as the blade collided into the exo-suit, not even leaving so much as a mark on the suit.
“That’s the first time this thing came in useful,” he murmured and pushed the blade away.
A moment later he activated another subclass ability, [100 Kicks], he immediately broke out releasing a barrage of kicks at his opponent.
But when it came time for his strike to make contact, he noticed the air starting to stretch where ever his legs moved, “I won’t be falling for that again,” he said to the mage who was hiding and leapt back cancelling his ability.
As he soared back another peculiar pulse of energy was emitted from his head, and when he landed, he looked out into the distance, his lips curled in a knowing smile.
“The two of you can come out now,” he said calmly.
“Hehehe,” a woman laughed lightly, but she stepped out into the open, her voice matched the voice he had just heard, and just a little way away, another woman stepped out holding a drawn bow that was charged with arching lightning.
As the woman drew closer he saw a mask on her face that was similar to the mask’s the other two wore, a mane of crystal blue hair stretched down her back as she drew closer.
“My, my, King slayer, your skills are even more excellent than the rumours say, I guess the rumours are true you were truly able to kill your general and the king he protected, all by yourself,” she said, her voice however was not coloured with fear, but rather excitement as if she was faced with an intriguing problem.
“But,” she said pointedly and extended an arm to point at his ruined hand, “It seems that those restraints are keeping you from you using your nuclear qi,” she said with a glint in her eyes.
‘Indeed,’ Raylin thought and examined his hand, it looked like it had just been cooked in a pot of boiling water, with blood and puss oozing out of it, the main damage didn’t come from the woman’s spell, rather it was his blazing energy that did the damage.
Raylin stood with a firm stature and glanced at his surroundings, due to the unfortunate circumstance’s he found himself surrounded in a box formation, but he looked on with no fear.
“I wouldn’t presume too much, if I were you,” he said during their standstill, they were each waiting – watching each-other to see who would make the first move.
“But before we continue I must ask you something,” he said looking around to gauge their reactions.
“Do ask, I’ll do my best to satisfy your curiosity, after all your feats are quite legendary,” the masked woman replied with a tone of admiration that was surprisingly sincere.
“We who live in the shadows have been your greatest admires for some time, it’s not every day you hear of someone killing a Dynasty General and King that lived to tell the tale, as a personal admire of yours I wouldn’t want you to die with any regrets King slayer,” the masked woman with crystalline blue hair answered in an amused tone.
Raylin sighed softly, “I’ve already confirmed that all of you are of the Fourth Accord, C – Rankers, no one of that rank can get to Elhaine without the restraints,” he pointed at the exoskeletal suit that was locked to his body.
Indeed, the suit was no boon but rather a contraption of magic and science used to restrain the power of an evolver, and in Raylin’s case it was restraining him to the pinnacle of the Third Accord, and a peak, D – Ranker.
“How did you get to Elhaine without the restraints?” he asked them his eyes glinted with suspicion.
He couldn’t be certain, but he felt like the blue haired woman smiled, “My, my, King slayer,” she murmured and curled her fingers to her chin, “I think you already know the answer to that,”
“It’s impossible for us to have gotten here through a gate nor with a ship, not even the Rulers of the galaxy would enter Elhaine without restraining their power, and with how ridiculously tight the security is on this planet there is no way anyone could slip in unnoticed,”
Raylin released a breath as his suspicions were confirmed.
“Naturally we came through the third way, honestly we were surprised beyond belief when we learnt of it, but then we were told that you already know of it, it’s how you left Elhaine in the first place and joined the Dynasty,” her voice was filled with praise.
“Since you know of that space then you can be certain that your contractor won’t let you live, even if you complete your mission,” he said to the woman.
She giggled softly, it was almost cute, “They are free to try,” she said in a confident tone and the other three chuckled in agreement.
Raylin struggled to understand where their confidence stemmed from, he was certain about his judgement of their power, and anyone that knew of the special route connecting the worlds was undoubtedly a behemoth in the outer world, people that even he didn’t take lightly, let alone the mob that surrounded him.
“You might be a spatial mage, but not even you will be able to outrun your employer,” he said to the woman.
“Ah,” the woman let out a surprised gasp, “You recognised what type of magic I use,” she said with glee.
“You’re not the first spatial mage I’ve had to deal with, but I’ll admit your particular use of it is quite unique,” he spoke, the mage danced gleefully his compliment seemed to make her happy.
Then without giving them any warning he vanished from his spot.

As the increased power surged through his body Raylin made a beeline for the Ranger, the Fighters and that Mage woman were troublesome, but the only one he determined that truly had a shot at killing him was undoubtedly the Ranger.
The Ranger was the one who fired of the first shot at the car, it was a devastating attack, and with it came a long charge time, from the look of things she seemed to be almost ready, and he didn’t want to take the unnecessary risk.
But as if anticipating his action, the two swordsmen dove in to intercept him, their green reinforced qi burst out in droves, as they swung their blade’s he noticed that the two had become slightly faster.
“That’s not enough,” he said and caught the bald man’s blade with his bare hand while kicking the other with a mighty force that knocked him back a dozen paces.
The bald swordsman put up a struggle to get his blade back but a moment later he chuckled at Raylin and jumped back releasing his sword.
Raylin looked up with a puzzled expression, and realised that the Ranger had escaped from his sight, to the right he noticed the mage, releasing strands of mana.
Her fingers moved as if each bore a mind of their own forming spell runes and glyphs with several lines connecting the symbols.
He didn’t recognise the spell but based on the complexity it was not going to be anything pretty for him.
Raylin raced in her direction, but the bald swordsman jumped back into his path, “Urgh,” he let out a frustrated groan, “You’re starting to annoy me,” he grumbled and moved faster than his opponent anticipated.
He pivoted on his one leg and threw out another full powered round house kick and this time the bald swordsman had no weapon to block, he didn’t even get to block as the kick smashed him in the chest.
CRUNCH.
His ribs crunched as it sunk inwards he let out an anguished groan as he soared through the air and smashed through a dozen trees each collision putting him in an even more miserable state.
“Hey,” the second swordsman shouted to get his attention, just as he planned to go for the mage, he turned around and his eyes turned cold when he saw the swordsman holding his sword against the driver’s neck.
“Stop!” he roared at the swordsman with his fury rising, in the chaos he had lost track of the elderly man.
“Your wish is my command,” the swordsman cackled and put his sword down, then he grabbed the driver and tossed him into the air.
Raylin gritted his teeth in anger knowing full well that the man would die should he land, he glanced at the mage and grimaced, then he jumped up to catch the man in the air.

Raylin caught the man in mid-air, he landed with a heavy thud and held the man in his arms but it was then he noticed the man wasn’t moving, as he looked at the man’s back he found a dagger lodged inside the man’s body going through his heart.
[Honours Heart (Deactivated)]
As he placed the body on the ground he scrunched up his eyes and gritted his teeth as his body trembled with anger, “HONOURLESS SCUM!” he bellowed with such might from his lungs that the air trembled.
The swordsman looked at Raylin with confusion at first, but when the shout reached him, he crumpled to his knees and his eyes trembled as fear overwhelmed his every sense.
When he blinked again the massive figure of Raylin appeared in his eyes, ‘So this is the fury of the King slayer,’ he thought as his head smashed the ground and splattered against the forest floor.
The forest floor trembled like an earthquake had struck as Raylin continued to smash the broken body until all that remained were unrecognisable chunks of flesh.

He climbed up a moment later and looked at the mage, but it was too late, no sooner then he looked up her spell was cast, and the air stilled.
It was the calm before the storm, he felt a force acting on him and with every passing second it doubled in power.
He started to run away from the force, but he soon noticed that every time he raised his leg of the ground he was being dragged further back along the ground, it was one step forward tree steps back.
With great effort he dug his feet into the ground cutting tracks trough the earth, and he glanced back to see an odd ripple in the air that distorted the surroundings appearance, like looking through a glass lens.
Slowly but surely it was dragging him backward, despite his best efforts, the leaves and scattered twigs raced towards the ripple and gradually the loose dirt started lifting, but most of the power was centred directly on him.
He looked up at the mage his gaze serious, “You’re even better than I gave you credit for,” he acknowledged, “But like I told you before, you’re not the first spatial mage I’ve dealt with,” he said.
He could tell that beneath her mask she was gritting her teeth and pushing all her focus on the ripple that was sucking him in.
That’s when he did something that surprised her, he stopped resisting and let the ripple drag him closer, when the ripple was in his reach, he extended his damaged hand and grimaced as he thrust it into the vortex.
He gritted his teeth as the vortex started crushing his hand, but he carefully moved his hand around with great effort, then his eyes gleamed.
“I might not know this spell, but a spell as complex as this needs a core matrix, as well as a constant supply of energy, meaning it’s linked directly to you,” he said and he could see the panic in her body as he wrapped his breaking hand around the core matrix.
He looked at his status screen and saw that he still had one minute of [Infernal Body] remaining where his strength was doubled.
‘I guess I can use my Nuclear Qi for a few moments like this,’ he thought, and the blazing red energy erupted from his arm, and flooded the matrix.
“Aaaaaaaargh,” the woman howled in pain as steam started to roll of her body, she fell to her knees and blood started to gush out the sides of her mask, as she coughed like someone with lung disease.
But all the while she kept a firm grip on her spell as she continually poured mana into it.
“Velma!” she suddenly shouted, “Release it now!”
Raylin’s eyes narrowed as he saw the flash from above, “Dammit,” he cursed.
BOOOOOOOM.
The entire world shook, and a cloud of dust erupted as the forest floor and all its constituents were uprooted and sent asunder in every direction.
The crystalline blue haired mage climbed up on shaking hands minutes after the explosion, she reached up to her bloodied mask and cast it to the ground, her two black eyes staring fixedly on the centre on the explosion. All the while she gritted her teeth as she battled the red energy that was going wild inside her body, when the smoke cleared her eyes trembled as she saw a bubbling layer of red energy slowly dissipating and giving way to a standing figure. --- Raylin gasped with effort, his chest expanded and contracted rapidly with every breath, he didn’t even want to look at his body as he could already feel the steaming heat he radiated onto the surroundings that burned the air. His two blue eyes locked onto the shaking mage, he lifted his head high as the last of his Nuclear Qi, returned inside his body and slowly extended his leg. Thud. Thud. Thud. His st
Dalis blinked in the dark room, not that the darkness did much to hinder his vision... not like the darkness ever could be problem for an Equanoxian. As he tilted his body he felt a weight on his arm as well as a familiar warmth. He eyed the naked body of Marcela with appreciation and gently caressed her smooth ivory skin, it was but a simple touch, but he heard her soft breath increase pace. She slowly wiggled her body back into his embrace and used her plump and juicy ass to grind against his crotch, causing an immediate change. Dalis used his free hand to move aside her curly locks of hair and brought his lips to her neck where he planted a series of steamy and passionate kisses. “You want too… mmmh… aaah… go again Dreamer?” Marcela asked between soft moans, as she raised her arm and pressed his head tightly to her neck. “Do I!” Dalis replied with rhetorical fervour and sunk his teeth into her skin. “Awww,” she released a loud cry and pressed his head down with greater stren
When Cabear’s next jab came he cushioned it with the soft pillow. “Four days Dreamer!” Cabear shouted in annoyance, “Fours days in a row, after you promised me that you wouldn’t disturb be me for our last night here,” Cabear continued without letting up with his hooks, each one meant to send Dalis into a daylong sleep. “My bad,” Dalis gave him a sheepish grin, after all the fun he had he couldn’t bring himself to feel too bad about disturbing Cabear. “This isn’t a joke Dreamer, we get deployed to the other side today,” he complained, his fists finally started to slow down. “Well you just made my point,” Dalis replied “We leave today, we’ll be lucky if we can see each-other again in 5 years, but for all we know we could die on the other side,” he said trying to rationalise his actions. “I know I said that we wouldn’t do anything on our last night, but Marcela and I got to talking and you know how it goes, one thing led to another and we decided to make every moment count,” Dalis e
The door to the bathroom swung open, and Marcela came walking out in full uniform, full black pants and a buttoned up shirt. The shirt was black as well it just had a set of ethereal speckled dots on it that glowed lightly, it was the uniform that all Equanoxian’s wore, their superiors said that the dots were to give them an idea of what the stars looked like. Dalis’s eyes were fixed tightly on the starry pattern as well as the round globes that were underneath, “Gotta get em,’ he muttered again with a light twitch of his eye. Marcela blushed and sat down next to him, “Stop it, we have company,” she said placing a hand on his arm and cast a nervous smile at Cabear. “Yeah, cause that can stop you two,” he retorted sarcastically, which only caused her to blush even more. She cleared her throat and grabbed her bowl, her eyes widened when she saw it, “There’s so much,” she said looking at the colourless goop with gusto. “I ran out of real food two weeks ago, I’ve been stuck on just
A short while later Dalis left the corridor and reached the tunnels and a minute later he walked out onto the surface. His footsteps echoed against the ground on the empty surface. It was a barren field of lightless dust with barely any structures in sight, everyone lived in the underground base and the only reason to come to the surface was to go to the terminal. It wasn’t like the surface was any prize, the sky was a clear dome that only highlighted the infinite darkness they lived in, a sky with no stars, not even a nearby sun. It was a hellscape, the soil was healthy but barren, with no sun nothing could survive, save for the Equanox. That was why they had to use the terminals to travel to the other side, to gather food, so that the race could survive. But there were some serious problem with that. Everything that transferred would denature, seeds would never be able grow even with methods like hydroponics, and any living creatures that originated from the other side and we
The floor of the terminal wasn’t much different from the wall or the surrounding structure, the same vein like structures extended through out every part of the building. Dalis felt strange walking on it, as if at any moment as his boots pressed down on it and it would go squish releasing its violet contents, but every time he took a step he was surprised by the firmness of the floor. “It took you long enough to get here, little Dreamer,” a familiar voice greeted him. Dalis turned around the corner and saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, she was the woman by which he standardised all others. If Marcela was an ivory skin goddess than, the woman before him was a fair skinned supreme goddess of beauty, her blue hair cascaded down her back leaving a train on the floor and she looked at him with two equally blue eye’s that reflected the violet light. “G-general Mi
A short while later the two got up and pulled their clothes back on, it was a bit of a problem figuring whose uniform belonged to whom, since the uniform everyone wore was identical, no matter the rank and the two of them were about the same size. When they were done getting dressed, he picked up the book and his pocket watch and followed behind Mira to reach the transfer pods. There were two different stations, one was for the ‘Marked’, basically all the people with authority in Dome Rose, and the other was for the first time transfers. People like him, Cabear, Marcela and their fellow mates who they were raised with, but even of those people only a few would be allowed to transfer. Only the top 1000 would be allowed to transfer and attempt to construct a terminal, as for the rest, first they would be required to have several children for the continuation of the race.
Mira left the room and climbed to the top floor of the terminal station. On the top floor she walked into the control room that was monitoring the situation in Dalis’s pod, when she looked at the panel it read 10% and everything was running smoothly. She turned to the side and gave a slight bow to a tall handsome man who was watching the panel with great focus, “Greetings Chancellor,” she greeted with respect. The Chancellor nodded in acknowledgement not once taking his attention of the panel. “Are you sure you wish to stay here?” he asked, his voice had a calming quality to it, that made the slight nervousness Mirijha felt disappear. “Things are looking fine currently, but it could change at any moment,” he spoke sincerely, there were a few failsafe’s in place in case things went wrong. There was an override switch which could shut things down if
Raylin looked down upon Dalis with his gaze held firm, he could sense that the bloodlust had vanished from Dalis’s mind. But even so he held his aura firm and spoke, “I once promised you that I would do everything in my power to hold of the corrosion of the energy, and in exchanged I asked that you act with honour and integrity,” “Tell me Dalis, does killing an innocent man honour the promise you have made?” he asked with a stern tone. Dalis gritted his teeth, under Raylin’s otherworldly aura he felt like he would completely lose himself, but at the same time he felt anger, anger at Raylin for calling that bastard of an Enforcer innocent, none of these people here were innocent. Through his anger he managed to find his courage, “You call that bastard innocent,” he swore at Raylin, using all his will power to keep his mind firm, “Do you even realise what’s going to happen when I hand in my schedule and it isn’t signed,” “I’m dangling over hot water as things stand, and all those l
Dalis left a perfectly cleaned out bowl with not even a speck of porridge left on the inside of his bowl, while he set his eyes on the lady in charge of the kitchens, he knew that he couldn’t get into her good books overnight. He moved on to the next part of schedule, as he made his way towards the corridors he would be sweeping, he noticed his stamina gradually recovering, it was nearing 320 of 340, and gradually increasing. His only energy so far that remained unmoving was his mana, it seemed like stamina was used as he moved about, and it recovered from eating, as for clarity it was used when he focused, as for its recovery he still wasn’t sure, he could only guess that it came with rest. Then there was mana which didn’t move at all, it was the only energy that his body didn’t need to operate. When he reached the corridors he was assigned, he found a broom against the wall and started to sweep away all the dust, and gradually made his way down the corridor. There wasn’t much m

When the night faded into day, and the morning began Dalis opened his eyes. He clutched his head that was unusually sore, and slowly recalled the dreams he had, it was strange, he usually had a perfect recollection of his dreams, but dreams always had a little nonsensicalness to them. But his dream from the night felt real, and he had a feeling that it was… When he went into the soul space, he found Raylin passed out in a sitting position, still looking that deadly shade of sick. When he reached Raylin, he suddenly paused and thought that maybe it wasn’t the best of ideas of let him know that he had seen the guys memory. Though he felt like it was a pity not to congratulate him on the bombshell of a wife he landed himself. But thinking of that made him all the more certain that it wasn’t a wise idea to tell Raylin what he saw, after all he was having a pretty intimate moment with his wife in that memory. As he thought about the memory he witnessed, he couldn’t help but wonder i
Raylin found himself in a strange place, well maybe not as strange as the soul space, but still this place was strange. It was dark, immeasurably so, the entire world he could see, seemed to have never seen the light of day, yet oddly he was able to see everything, with perfect clarity. ‘Am I dreaming?’ Raylin wondered to himself, he could never recall having a dream such as this one. But since he found himself incaple of moving, basically forced to act as a silent observer, he guessed that it was perhaps a dream. The darkness was different in this place, it was hard to describe, the sky above was this canvass of nothing, not even a simple twinkle of a star broke through the dark canopy, even the grainy sands that littered the ground were coloured in the darkness. It made Raylin furrow his brow all the more at the fact that he could see, his common sense was shouting at him, telling him that it was impossible, yet he could… He didn’t get to give it much thought when he spotted a
Dalis felt fuzzy. Yep that was the word, that described how he felt at the moment. The last thing he remembered was going to sleep, but now he found himself in a strange place, it was just that he couldn’t really do anything. He wanted too look around but he felt like he had no eyes, he wanted pull himself up but he felt like he had no hands with which he could pull him self up, he wanted to walk but… well you get the picture. The world all around him started to shimmer, and various large doors and stone corridors flashed in and out of his conscious mind. “Am I dreaming?” he wondered aloud, dreams were different for Dalis, he remembered all of his dreams, unlike everyone he knew, but his dreams were even stranger yet. He would frequently find himself awake inside his dreams, fully aware that his dream was a dream, without it ever breaking unless he willed it so, unlike other people whose dreams broke the moment they realised they were dreaming. But even so this dream felt diffe
An hour later Dalis was following behind Jean, as they made their way out of the Tower where the trial had been held. As they walked out into the night the settlement was empty with everyone having gone to rest after curfew set in. Dalis watched the night sky with the hum of the generators acting as a soft tune as they walked through the dimly lit night. As the massive moon passed through his gaze Dalis thought of the verdict, Dalis had no idea what happened between the Artisan faction and the rest of the settlement, but there was a severe lack of trust. It seemed that no one was in favour of handing Dalis over the Artisan faction, but Jean made a strong case for why he belonged in the Artisan faction. As such a slightly bothersome arrangement was reached, his custody was to be split between, Artisan, Jack of all Trades, and The Factionless. It would ensure that the Artisan faction couldn’t monopolise him and allow the others to keep a close eye on him, it seemed like his strugg
Before Hugo could speak Zera chimed in, in a soothing and melodious voice, “Hugo can speak for the Factionless as well, I believe that our ideas are in line with each-other,” she spoke softly. Hugo nodded apparently agreeing with Zera, “Your Dukeship, once the war commences the Jack of all Trades, and the Factionless will be stretched thin between our tasks,” “We will have to take up the dungeon clearing, the beast extermination tasks of the other factions, plus we’ll be running the supply lines,” “In this case every set of hands on deck will make a difference, we can push of many of our menial tasks like sowing the soil and gathering manure on to him, it will hinder his evolution progress, I’m sure that such a thing will be a suitable punishment for him, he’ll receive his basic meals but he’ll work for no payment,” Hugo added. In the current age for an evolver to be denied the opportunity to gain levels it was one of the punishments that would be the most frustrating to receive,
Dalis stood up straight feeling much more confident, he had two votes for him and two against him all he need to do was wait for the five votes from Layla, Sebastian and Siara. He figured that his verdict was a done deal. “Casting the vote of Princess Siara is Maliah green,” Sebastian stated. Maliah stood up, “Princess Siara was adamant on her vote, that the life of Dreamer is to be spared,” she stated, giving Dalis his third positive vote. For the next vote Sebastian said nothing as Layla stood up, “With my first vote I vote for Dreamer to be spared,” Dalis furrowed his brow wondering why she didn’t cast both her votes at once, he learnt the reason in the next moment. “With my second vote, I vote to execute Dreamer,” Layla spoke firmly, and her hardened gaze was fixed on Dalis. Dalis had no idea what was going on all of a sudden, her votes made no sense, one to save him and the other to kill him, she might as well have abstained with both votes. He now had four votes for him
