Dalis could think of a million activities that were fun, being chased by an angry swam of bugs did not make that list. All the more for a swarm of flying insects, it was practically impossible to get away from them, wherever they ran or tried to hide, there were always a few annoying scouts that managed to spot them and rekindle the chase. Dalis and Siara were buckled over, with their hands on their knees as they panted and tried to catch their breath during a short window of rest they managed to obtain. They were hiding inside an old store that used to have a series of glass panels in the front, though more than half of them were broken, as for the store it was completely empty, it had definitely been raid for its supplies at some point. Drops of sweat dripped from Dalis’s chin as he peeked outside, only to see at least fifty dragonflies hovering around, inspecting every little chip in the walls, as if they could hide in something so small. Dalis inched forward, just a small lit
Dalis pulled Siara, and they started to run as their pursuers raced through the few remaining glass panels of the shop. They ran through the shattered glass and back into the open, they skidded across the streets with the sound of crunching glass under their feet. They moved quickly and had to duck and dive repeatedly to avoid the bugs. At time’s Dalis pulled Siara along, and at time’s Siara took over, as they rounded a corner a dragonfly came hurtling directly at them. Dalis instantly reacted with a swing of his sword, he didn’t even have to think as his energy filled the blade, he didn’t waste time and allowed his super berserk state mana to play the lead. His blade passed through the bugs body, and they got up and raced forward. [Killed Level 17 (Cruel) Dragonfly] [+ 24 exp] [Level difference 13 = 130% bonus exp] [+ 31 bonus exp] The notifications stopped there, from a while back Dalis stopped receiving accrued stat notifications, but he still received experience points w
The dragonfly split down the centre and both halves hit the ground before Dalis could utilise the barrier. Dalis didn’t even blink when he saw another two of those blue dragonflies’ heads go up, putting a great deal of distance between the bodies they were previously attached to. A figured seemed to flicker between the shadows, and Dalis saw two scary green eyes looking at him with a piercing gaze, if looks could kill he was certain that he would have been long dead. “Melissa!” Siara cried as relief flooded her body upon seeing the Rogue faction leader. Melissa seemed to wake up hearing Siara’s voice and tore her piercing gaze of Dalis, “Don’t stop moving princess, move northward for another five blocks,” she said, her tone was icy. “SCREEEEEEEE!” the leader of the swarm finally seemed to take notice of the deaths of the three blue dragonflies, and it seemed to be pissed, for the first time it took action by itself and charged down towards them with an ear grating screech that co
[Condition to Activate Honours Heart has been met] [Honours Heart 1st activation] [Protect the lives of the innocent] [All stats +5%] Raylin’s eyes flashed open as he looked on with stunned horror as the words of the Records etched themselves across his vision. His eyes darted across the status screen and he looked at the lifestyle sub-class tab, but just like before it was empty. Yet the sub-class ability [Honours Heart] that belonged to his lifestyle sub-class ‘The Honourable Path’ was clearly displayed on the status screen and all of Dalis’s stats saw an increase. It wasn’t much for most of his stats but strength and dexterity saw a large increase and it went directly into Dalis’s stats, it wasn’t separated by Raylin’s stats. The entire soul space lit up with a shimmering golden aura, and Raylin felt a strange sensation wash over him, he reached out and found that he had the power to manipulate the status screen. He saw that Dalis had twenty free main class stat points, he
As the bug hit the wall, Raylin walked forward without giving it another look, he walked up to Siara and saw her looking up at him with fading eyes, even as she bleed out she didn’t seem to blame him at all, and a light smile touched the corners of her lips. Raylin looked deeply at her, and his face lightened as he looked down at her, he crouched down and set a hand against her wound, “The radiance of the honourable shines brightly in you, brighter than it does in most,” as he spoke a bit of energy leaked out of his palm plugging up the wound where blood constantly leaked from her neck. It was rough treatment compared to what healing pulse’s and spells could achieve, but it was all he had to work with. Siara’s eye turned strange as she looked up, even in her fuzzy state she could tell that there was something different about him, especially with the way he spoke. Rumble. The entire building shuddered as the bug remerged its wings fluttered, and it looked at Raylin with an intense
Raylin’s face stiffened when he felt how cold Siara’s body had become, she was almost like a corpse. Smack. Raylin took a sudden hit to the face, Melissa’s bloody hands struck hard enough to send his head wobbling, her bloody hands left their mark on his face. “Damn you,” Melissa spat in fury, she could tell that it was a hopeless case to save Siara, even though the wound was now sealed, she had lost far too much blood. “This is all because of you, do you have any idea how important her life is?” she shouted in anger, had she had any more strength to use she would have killed him then and there. Raylin turned back with out any sign of anger, and accepted Melissa’s anger despite it not actually being his fault, he could see that she deeply cared for and respected Siara. Melissa was about to hit him again, but Siara’s hand came up as she weakly caught Melissa’s arm. Raylin looked down at Siara, despite her awful state she refused to give up, she was someone who was truly strong i
Dalis woke up to a dark and empty room, well dark by the standards of other races. It was a tiny room that had a single toilet for him to do his business and about enough space for him to curl up on the floor. There were no windows or lights, and the door was sealed shut not allowing even the slightest trace of light to pass through, ordinarily he would have found the situation amusing. Locking a person up in a dark and cramped space was seen as some type of punishment, the tiny and dark space did little to Dalis, but his real punishment was not knowing what had happened. He vaguely remembered what happened, he remembered the floor covered in Siara’s blood, then everything after that felt so distant, bits and pieces of Raylin taking over flashed before his eyes. He shut his eyes and felt his mind get sucked up into the soul space, when he entered he instantly spotted Raylin, but his face quickly paled after seeing Raylin’s condition. Raylin had always bore a sickly look since th
[Titles: User of Numbers (I)] The first change Dalis noticed was his title’s, he had received it on his first day in the settlement, User of Numbers was a very easy title to achieve, to his knowledge it was a perquisite to several sub-classes that involved any math. [Sub-Class: (Perform tasks and fulfil hidden requirements to acquire sub-classes)] [Lifestyle S/C:] [Profession S/C:] [Universal S/C: (Common) Ordinary Swordsman – Level 4 (0/500) - (expand/collapse) (Uncommon) Ordinary Energy Swordsman – Level 2 (0/600) - (expand/collapse) The second change was the sub-classes, he had earned, currently all the sub-classes he earned would fall under ‘Universal Sub-Classes’, that would change once he selected his main class at level 25. At that point sub-classes associated with his main class would fall under ‘Profession Sub-Classes’, as for ‘Lifestyle Sub-Classes’ they could be any sub class, Dalis could chose either of his current ones as a ‘Lifestyle Sub-Class’. But only one su
