The dragonfly was about the length of Dalis’s torso, as it closed in on him he could feel the power its presence was releasing.

He might have been larger than the creature, but he felt small before its wild gaze, its two massive eyes protruded from its head like two fat plates, giving it a near 360 degrees of vision.

Dalis tightened his grip around the pummel of his sword, the blade hummed as it radiated a brilliant yellow light, he took a step forward and slashed, aiming to cut the dragonfly in half, as it zoomed into him.

But as his blade came a hairs breath away from the dragonfly it flapped its second set of wings and came to an abrupt halt in the air, the blade went past it without causing a slight bit of harm.

Then it spun, doing a full 360-degree spin on the spot and whipped its long body around.

Dalis moved the sword in the nick of time to take the blow, but immediately he felt the force of blow pushing him back, the entire sword curved under strike as he stumbled back.

Dalis could think of a million activities that were fun, being chased by an angry swam of bugs did not make that list. All the more for a swarm of flying insects, it was practically impossible to get away from them, wherever they ran or tried to hide, there were always a few annoying scouts that managed to spot them and rekindle the chase. Dalis and Siara were buckled over, with their hands on their knees as they panted and tried to catch their breath during a short window of rest they managed to obtain. They were hiding inside an old store that used to have a series of glass panels in the front, though more than half of them were broken, as for the store it was completely empty, it had definitely been raid for its supplies at some point. Drops of sweat dripped from Dalis’s chin as he peeked outside, only to see at least fifty dragonflies hovering around, inspecting every little chip in the walls, as if they could hide in something so small. Dalis inched forward, just a small lit

Dalis pulled Siara, and they started to run as their pursuers raced through the few remaining glass panels of the shop. They ran through the shattered glass and back into the open, they skidded across the streets with the sound of crunching glass under their feet. They moved quickly and had to duck and dive repeatedly to avoid the bugs. At time’s Dalis pulled Siara along, and at time’s Siara took over, as they rounded a corner a dragonfly came hurtling directly at them. Dalis instantly reacted with a swing of his sword, he didn’t even have to think as his energy filled the blade, he didn’t waste time and allowed his super berserk state mana to play the lead. His blade passed through the bugs body, and they got up and raced forward. The dragonfly split down the centre and both halves hit the ground before Dalis could utilise the barrier. Dalis didn’t even blink when he saw another two of those blue dragonflies’ heads go up, putting a great deal of distance between the bodies they were previously attached to. A figured seemed to flicker between the shadows, and Dalis saw two scary green eyes looking at him with a piercing gaze, if looks could kill he was certain that he would have been long dead. “Melissa!” Siara cried as relief flooded her body upon seeing the Rogue faction leader. Melissa seemed to wake up hearing Siara’s voice and tore her piercing gaze of Dalis, “Don’t stop moving princess, move northward for another five blocks,” she said, her tone was icy. “SCREEEEEEEE!” the leader of the swarm finally seemed to take notice of the deaths of the three blue dragonflies, and it seemed to be pissed, for the first time it took action by itself and charged down towards them with an ear grating screech that co

Yet the sub-class ability [Honours Heart] that belonged to his lifestyle sub-class ‘The Honourable Path’ was clearly displayed on the status screen and all of Dalis’s stats saw an increase. It wasn’t much for most of his stats but strength and dexterity saw a large increase and it went directly into Dalis’s stats, it wasn’t separated by Raylin’s stats. The entire soul space lit up with a shimmering golden aura, and Raylin felt a strange sensation wash over him, he reached out and found that he had the power to manipulate the status screen. He saw that Dalis had twenty free main class stat points, he

As the bug hit the wall, Raylin walked forward without giving it another look, he walked up to Siara and saw her looking up at him with fading eyes, even as she bleed out she didn’t seem to blame him at all, and a light smile touched the corners of her lips. Raylin looked deeply at her, and his face lightened as he looked down at her, he crouched down and set a hand against her wound, “The radiance of the honourable shines brightly in you, brighter than it does in most,” as he spoke a bit of energy leaked out of his palm plugging up the wound where blood constantly leaked from her neck. It was rough treatment compared to what healing pulse’s and spells could achieve, but it was all he had to work with. Siara’s eye turned strange as she looked up, even in her fuzzy state she could tell that there was something different about him, especially with the way he spoke. Rumble. Raylin took a sudden hit to the face, Melissa’s bloody hands struck hard enough to send his head wobbling, her bloody hands left their mark on his face. “Damn you,” Melissa spat in fury, she could tell that it was a hopeless case to save Siara, even though the wound was now sealed, she had lost far too much blood. “This is all because of you, do you have any idea how important her life is?” she shouted in anger, had she had any more strength to use she would have killed him then and there. Raylin turned back with out any sign of anger, and accepted Melissa’s anger despite it not actually being his fault, he could see that she deeply cared for and respected Siara. Melissa was about to hit him again, but Siara’s hand came up as she weakly caught Melissa’s arm. Raylin looked down at Siara, despite her awful state she refused to give up, she was someone who was truly strong i

Dalis woke up to a dark and empty room, well dark by the standards of other races. It was a tiny room that had a single toilet for him to do his business and about enough space for him to curl up on the floor. There were no windows or lights, and the door was sealed shut not allowing even the slightest trace of light to pass through, ordinarily he would have found the situation amusing. Locking a person up in a dark and cramped space was seen as some type of punishment, the tiny and dark space did little to Dalis, but his real punishment was not knowing what had happened. He vaguely remembered what happened, he remembered the floor covered in Siara’s blood, then everything after that felt so distant, bits and pieces of Raylin taking over flashed before his eyes. He shut his eyes and felt his mind get sucked up into the soul space, when he entered he instantly spotted Raylin, but his face quickly paled after seeing Raylin’s condition. Raylin had always bore a sickly look since th

But even so he held his aura firm and spoke, “I once promised you that I would do everything in my power to hold of the corrosion of the energy, and in exchanged I asked that you act with honour and integrity,” “Tell me Dalis, does killing an innocent man honour the promise you have made?” he asked with a stern tone. Dalis gritted his teeth, under Raylin’s otherworldly aura he felt like he would completely lose himself, but at the same time he felt anger, anger at Raylin for calling that bastard of an Enforcer innocent, none of these people here were innocent. Through his anger he managed to find his courage, “You call that bastard innocent,” he swore at Raylin, using all his will power to keep his mind firm, “Do you even realise what’s going to happen when I hand in my schedule and it isn’t signed,” “I’m dangling over hot water as things stand, and all those l

He moved on to the next part of schedule, as he made his way towards the corridors he would be sweeping, he noticed his stamina gradually recovering, it was nearing 320 of 340, and gradually increasing. His only energy so far that remained unmoving was his mana, it seemed like stamina was used as he moved about, and it recovered from eating, as for clarity it was used when he focused, as for its recovery he still wasn’t sure, he could only guess that it came with rest. Then there was mana which didn’t move at all, it was the only energy that his body didn’t need to operate. When he reached the corridors he was assigned, he found a broom against the wall and started to sweep away all the dust, and gradually made his way down the corridor. There wasn’t much m

When the night faded into day, and the morning began Dalis opened his eyes. He clutched his head that was unusually sore, and slowly recalled the dreams he had, it was strange, he usually had a perfect recollection of his dreams, but dreams always had a little nonsensicalness to them. But his dream from the night felt real, and he had a feeling that it was… When he went into the soul space, he found Raylin passed out in a sitting position, still looking that deadly shade of sick. When he reached Raylin, he suddenly paused and thought that maybe it wasn’t the best of ideas of let him know that he had seen the guys memory. Though he felt like it was a pity not to congratulate him on the bombshell of a wife he landed himself. But thinking of that made him all the more certain that it wasn’t a wise idea to tell Raylin what he saw, after all he was having a pretty intimate moment with his wife in that memory. Raylin found himself in a strange place, well maybe not as strange as the soul space, but still this place was strange. It was dark, immeasurably so, the entire world he could see, seemed to have never seen the light of day, yet oddly he was able to see everything, with perfect clarity. ‘Am I dreaming?’ Raylin wondered to himself, he could never recall having a dream such as this one. But since he found himself incaple of moving, basically forced to act as a silent observer, he guessed that it was perhaps a dream. The darkness was different in this place, it was hard to describe, the sky above was this canvass of nothing, not even a simple twinkle of a star broke through the dark canopy, even the grainy sands that littered the ground were coloured in the darkness. It made Raylin furrow his brow all the more at the fact that he could see, his common sense was shouting at him, telling him that it was impossible, yet he could… He didn’t get to give it much thought when he spotted a

Dalis felt fuzzy. Yep that was the word, that described how he felt at the moment. The last thing he remembered was going to sleep, but now he found himself in a strange place, it was just that he couldn’t really do anything. He wanted too look around but he felt like he had no eyes, he wanted pull himself up but he felt like he had no hands with which he could pull him self up, he wanted to walk but… well you get the picture. The world all around him started to shimmer, and various large doors and stone corridors flashed in and out of his conscious mind. “Am I dreaming?” he wondered aloud, dreams were different for Dalis, he remembered all of his dreams, unlike everyone he knew, but his dreams were even stranger yet. He would frequently find himself awake inside his dreams, fully aware that his dream was a dream, without it ever breaking unless he willed it so, unlike other people whose dreams broke the moment they realised they were dreaming. But even so this dream felt diffe

An hour later Dalis was following behind Jean, as they made their way out of the Tower where the trial had been held. As they walked out into the night the settlement was empty with everyone having gone to rest after curfew set in. Dalis watched the night sky with the hum of the generators acting as a soft tune as they walked through the dimly lit night. As the massive moon passed through his gaze Dalis thought of the verdict, Dalis had no idea what happened between the Artisan faction and the rest of the settlement, but there was a severe lack of trust. It seemed that no one was in favour of handing Dalis over the Artisan faction, but Jean made a strong case for why he belonged in the Artisan faction. As such a slightly bothersome arrangement was reached, his custody was to be split between, Artisan, Jack of all Trades, and The Factionless. It would ensure that the Artisan faction couldn’t monopolise him and allow the others to keep a close eye on him, it seemed like his strugg

Dalis stood up straight feeling much more confident, he had two votes for him and two against him all he need to do was wait for the five votes from Layla, Sebastian and Siara. He figured that his verdict was a done deal. “Casting the vote of Princess Siara is Maliah green,” Sebastian stated. Maliah stood up, “Princess Siara was adamant on her vote, that the life of Dreamer is to be spared,” she stated, giving Dalis his third positive vote. For the next vote Sebastian said nothing as Layla stood up, “With my first vote I vote for Dreamer to be spared,” Dalis furrowed his brow wondering why she didn’t cast both her votes at once, he learnt the reason in the next moment. “With my second vote, I vote to execute Dreamer,” Layla spoke firmly, and her hardened gaze was fixed on Dalis. Dalis had no idea what was going on all of a sudden, her votes made no sense, one to save him and the other to kill him, she might as well have abstained with both votes. He now had four votes for him
