Chapter 5: Clouds Split!

The three men were already enjoying dinner in another room while looking at the beautiful garden not far from them, the two who came with Su Jin had already been led to their resting and wouldn't be appropriate to follow Su Jin at this time. "That's all I remember." said Su Jin. His uncle and father nodded that they finally understood the situation. "Which bastard has the guts to kidnap my nephew! If I ever lay my hands on him, I swear I'll skin him alive!" vowed his uncle.

Although his father was also very angry, he didn't the same way like his brother. "So father, did you receive any news about my brother and sister?" Su Jin's father's expression became sullen and lonely and so was Uncle Ling's . "They've probably already left this world." his father said. "What! How is that even possible?!" Su Jin couldn't believe it.

"Little Jin, there's something I have to tell you. Your mother didn't die after giving birth to you, she went back to her home world." explained his father. Su Jin was so shocked that he had nothing to say, completely speechless. When he was young, his father told him that his mother had died after giving birth to him but now, he was being told that his mother was still alive and living in another world.

"Your mother's family is extremely powerful and she has a very high status in her family and is very influential." Su Jin just kept his mouth shut and listened attentively. "Is there a way to get her back?" he asked. "Yes it's possible. She once told me that she lived in the Immortal Plain and to reach it, one has to break through to the Monarch Realm. You're still very far from reaching it and I've never heard of anyone reaching such a Realm."

Su Jin now understood that things weren't as simple as they looked, "Since she lives in a higher sky than ours, wouldn't this mean that my brother and sister are mistreated because their father is a mortal in their eyes?" he couldn't help but become worried in his heart. Those with powerful backgrounds and status had always looked down upon those with inferior backgrounds or statuses.

"You don't have to worry, your mother said it herself that those two were geniuses amongst geniuses even in the Immortal Plain. They're surely being nurtured well by that family. You'd be the only person I..." his father suddenly kept quiet. His son was no longer trash that he used to be and was now quite powerful. "What about Huizhong and my baby?" Su Jin's eyes sparkled when he said this but the two became even more depressed.

His father once again explained the whole situation to Su Jin, "I... see..." Su Jin felt excruciating pain in his heart and his eyes had turned red from holding back his tears. All three of them were depressed and just ate their food without saying anything. It was then that his uncle took out a bucket sized jar with the words, "Four Seasons Wine " written on it. The aroma coming from the jar filled Su Jin with excitement.

His uncle opened the jar and the entire room was filled with this rich fragrance, he poured himself a glass and downed it immediately. His cheeks turned slightly pink from drinking the wine. "Little Jin, I remember now that we've never displayed our family's technique to you. Let me show it to you now.

His uncle then stood in the garden with a sword in hand and his aura changed together with his demeanor, he now looked like a ferocious beast ready to kill.

"First Style, Thousand Sword Slash!"

Swords made from energy appeared behind him, there were three hundred of them in total, they flew towards a nearby tree and chopped it into many pieces. He then jumped high in the air and unleashed the second technique.

"Second Style, Sword Rain!"

This time, about five hundred swords managed to condense above him and they all descended but dissipated before they could touch the ground. His aura was continuously rising and was changing from ferocity to sharpness, he then stabbed the ground.

"Third Style, Eight Sided Star!"

Blue light flashed in eight direction with astounding speed and later dissipated, his uncle unleashed all the techniques. He had some difficulties when he executed the last three.

"Forth Style, Void Splitting!"

"Fifth Style, Earth Splitting!"

"Sixth Style, Heavens Splitting!"

These last three had nearly depleted all of his energy and when he was executing them, it was obvious that he hadn't mastered them. Mastery over techniques was categorised into four categories, Initial Mastery, Mid Mastery, Peak Mastery and Perfect Mastery of techniques. The more a person mastered a technique, the more power they would be able to output and the less energy they'd have to use.

"How was it?" asked his uncle proudly, it was obvious that he was proud of the Su family's martial arts. "Amazing!" that's all Su Jin said and Uncle Ling was very satisfied with his answer. "How much of it did you comprehended?" he asked. Su Jin smiled and said nothing, he poured himself a glass of wine and gulped it down, "Good wine!" he exclaimed and poured himself another glass and gulped down again.

He then walked to the garden, pitch black clouds had already condensed in the sky and would rain anytime now. Su Jin looked drunk, his cheeks were flushed red and his eyes were hazy, his gourd imprint on his forehead shone brilliantly but the two didn't notice it. "I'm only gonna show you this technique only once so watch carefully!"

Su Jin's aura changed from that of a naive young man to that of a martial arts grandmaster. Instead of ferocity like how his uncle started, his aura was as sharp as could be, if they didn't know better, they'd have thought that Su Jin was a sword in human form.

"Since these are sword styles, they should also contain sword essence. These styles don't lie in their ferocity but sharpness, to understand the sword, you also have to become the sword. Only then will you master these techniques." said Su Jin.

His uncle and father listened and said nothing, their eyes were slightly becoming cloudy. Su Jin then executed the first style.

"First Style, Thousand Sword Slash!"

Exactly like the its name, a thousand swords appeared behind Su Jin and instead of slashing down the tree, they slashed the air in front of them.

Wu wu wu!

There was the sound how wind howling as the swords kept slashing, he then jumped in the air and executed the second style.

"Second Style, Sword Rain!"

Unlike his uncle, his swords that condensed above him were really small, about the size of rain drops and there were countless. The sharpness emanating from them would make any and everyone admit defeat immediately. "Since it's called Sword Rain, where have you ever seen a rain droplet the size of a sword? Like the name, they should be a sword rain, not swords falling from the sky."

The tiny swords then descended and left countless holes in the garden and there were still wisps of sharpness on the ground.

"Third Style, Eight Sided Star!"

He stabbed his sword on the ground and literary a star appeared on the ground and instead of a blue light, the star emitted a white light. His aura then changed again, he brimmed with confidence and had become extremely sharp that even the grass he was standing on was split into two. He then vertically slashed down.

"Forth Style, Void Splitter!"

The air this time didn't make a sound and was split for a moment, his sword wasn't glowing like before and had dimmed a bit, maybe due to his cultivation base, he didn't or rather couldn't unleash its true power. "Have confidence in not you but your sword." that's all he said. His sword became even more dimmer as he vertically slashed again.

""Fifth Style, Earth Splitting!"

His movement was very simple and crude but there were no flaws in his technique. The ground separated as if it was butter being cut by a hot knife, he didn't just stop here but executed the last technique. His aura changed again, this time, it became domineering and fearless, his sword was no longer glowing and looked ordinary.

He gazed at the cloudy sky above him and shouted.

"Sixth Style, Heavens Splitting!"

There was no light or anything like that, the winds continued to howl as if everything was fine.  When he shouted, the two youths he came back with had woken up and were looking at the sky. "Did the Senior say Heavens Splitting, why is nothing happening then?" asked the lady but the young man didn't know the answer and he kept quiet.

"Look, look!" pointed the young man. His finger pointed to the cloudy sky, shock and fear was all one could see on his face, the lady also looked and she too became shocked and fearful. The two brothers who were receiving Su Jin's pointers also became shocked but instead of fear, they were filled with anticipation and longing for the future.

All those who were awake watched the phenomenon occurring in the cloudy sky, "What in the world is happening? Am I seeing things!" said one of the spectators. "Am I dreaming, darling, pinch me. Awww! Why did you do that for?" "You told me to pinch you and yes, you're not dreaming."

"The clouds are separating as if someone split themin two!"

...

In the mountains far far away, an old man stood on a very tall tree and was standing on one of the tree branches, the amazing thing was that the branch was very think and wouldn't be able to support any weight but here was the old man standing on it, it seemed like he was weightless but even the cold wind couldn't push him away.

"What an amazing technique. To think that anyone would be able to unleash such a technique. This world is really filled with dragons and tigers. I think it's time that I get myself a disciple." the old man then disappeared as if he was never there.

It wasn't just the old man that was attracted by the commotion, many powerful people had left their secluded cultivation caves and their direction was the capital city.

...

"Your Majesty, a phenomenon just occurred outside!" an old man came rushing inside a huge room and knelt on the ground. Not far from him was a young man sitting on a grand throne and was wearing dragon patterned robes. He exuded terrifying pressure and sat majestically on his throne. "What is it?" he asked unhurriedly.

"Your Majesty, I've just witnessed the clouds in the sky being split into two! And it originates from the capital city!" the old man reported. The young man didn't lose his cool when he heard the report and ordered the old man to leave. He seemed to be deep in his thoughts as if trying to recall something.

He then slightly waved his hand and everything changed, he was no longer in the throne room but a place filled with ancient and dusty books. He snapped his fingers and a few books flew towards him and paged themselves. "Clouds split, clouds split, clouds split." he repeated the same words again and again. He finally seemed to have realised something and personally opened a page in one of the books, it was titled "Su Family Background"

He then read slowly until he reached a certain paragraph, "Could it be the Su's technique...Sixth Style, Heavens Splitting?! If this is so... then I still have a chance of uniting this world and having it under my rule! The heavens are blessing me, hahaha!" he waved his hand again and appeared in the throne room.

"Come!" a shadow of a person appeared in front of His Majesty, it was a person clad in black and couldn't tell whether they were male or female. "Investigate everything that recently happened in the Su family. Leave no stone unturned. And I've heard of the assassination attack, deal with it!" the shadow nodded and disappeared. "Don't disappoint me!"
