Rifle

I awoke abruptly in the midst of a deafening tumult. The din of voices filled the corridors of the hotel, like a dissonant chorus of nonconformities and complaints. Curious about the commotion, I got out of bed and crept to the half-open door to discover the source of the hubbub.

As I peeked in, my eyes were met with an unexpected and threatening scene. Two individuals were having a heated argument. They were people with disturbing tattoos on their faces. It was evident that they belonged to some shady gang.

Instinctively, I closed the door slowly, while my mind worked on how to quickly complete my mission and escape from that oppressive place. Although I was in an unfamiliar city, I had a clear conviction that I could not afford to harm innocent civilians, as the consequences would be severe and the system prevented me from doing so.

I lay back on the bed and turned my gaze back to the system that had been provided to me. I longed for more information about the man I was to confront.
