After the impact, the driver got out of the car. Lucia pulled out a gun, I didn’t hesitate to ask her.

“What’s wrong?”

“Mmm, I have problems with the mafia. Not because of the mission, it’s external stuff.”

“A rich woman like you has problems with the mafia?”

“One of the companies I own is competition for a mafia business.”

After listening to her, I knew that we are all wanted for trouble, regardless of social status.

For the first time, I pulled out a gun and prepared to shoot, but she motioned to me.

“You better stay, I’ll settle this quickly. The hit wasn’t that hard, and maybe it was an accident.”

She got out of the car with the gun hidden in the dress she was wearing. I didn’t try to tell her anything and concentrated on looking at my system. I wanted to see if there was anything that could help me, since I hadn’t checked anything.

I could see the announcement of the missions I would have to do.

[Missions]

[Steal] [Kill].

Obviously, I preferred to be an assassin, my mind was normal, I wasn’t a genius to do the first option.

I saw the notifications.

[Mission in Manhattan City, software company CEO, David Smith]

I felt like I was in some kind of game, it gave me some nervousness, but I tried to remain serious, my life was at stake and a mistake would leave me in a coffin.

I heard several gunshots at that moment, I felt nervous, I thought something had happened to Lucia, but she came back to the car seconds later.

“Well, nothing happened.”

“But shots rang out!”

“You have to get used to this. I just gave them a warning. Well, we have to finish the mission quickly, we can’t stay here long.”

I was not very pleased to hear this. I felt a little uncomfortable. She was cold-blooded enough to talk about something normal.

The driver got into the car and kept going. As if nothing had happened.

[…]

I thought I would practice in the early morning, but I ended up in a hotel room with a rifle pointed at the entrance of a five-star hotel.

Lucia started talking to me.

“You just have to shoot the ones that appear to you in blue. No matter the distance, the system will tell you who the users are.”

“But I can’t help you from here. You have to go in there and kill him. There are cameras and police who are watching the place.”

“It’s not all shooting and slashing all the time. There are other ways. At the end of each mission, the system offers you to raise a certain stat.”

I was curious to know, but it was something quite rare, if I asked him, but I guessed he had intelligence above ninety. If the way he spoke and expressed himself, it was like he had it all figured out.

“Well, stay here and just call me and tell me what you see. If the target comes out, shoot him in the leg or puncture a tire, but don’t kill him.”

I didn’t want to see Lucia’s face if I got to kill her target. I stayed silent and just looked at the door and windows of the building. Many escorted people were coming out. They were all tycoons and rich people, probably the person who was the target of the week ignored the missions and went on with his life just the same. He knew he was the target and was going to protect himself because he had all the money to protect himself and the system gave rewards to take time away from participating in that battle.

I thought a lot about killing the target myself, but I couldn’t do it.

I saw Lucia enter that hotel. She was quite fast to move, but she was a woman, in a grapple she would lose to a man, she could win if she raised her strength stats, but I doubted it. Her arm was quite thin and delicate.

I kept looking at the entrance of the hotel, many people were there. I saw another user, he had those blue letters, but I couldn’t shoot him. I just took a cell phone and called her.

“A user just arrived, be careful.”

“Don’t worry, I’m close to the target.”

She hung up the cell phone and made me feel insecure, if she got caught the system would punish her and I didn’t want that. I just stood watching from the building at the entrance.

Suddenly several vans arrived and several men in black suits entered, most of them were normal, but via another user.

I tried to call Lucia, but I still saw a group of users approaching the hotel. They did not enter there, they were just observing the site.

I brought the rifle closer and looked closely at the people who were there and noticed that they threw something at the door. Maybe it was a bomb that would be detonated by remote control.

I didn’t hesitate to call Lucia and explain what was going on, but she didn’t answer. I wanted to go downstairs and look for her, most likely something had happened to her and there was nothing I could do from here.

I looked at the hotel entrance again, and two users went in there. This mission was crazy, there were too many people on one mission.

From one moment to another, people started running out, and I decided to kill the users that tried to enter to prevent Lucia from having problems inside.

I focused on the street and looked around. I saw two users approaching the confrontation zone and fired. They both fell to the ground immediately. It didn’t feel good to kill those people, nothing changed in me, I tried to look back at the hotel entrance and I could see the escorted target coming out.

I was seconds away from killing him, his bodyguards were very close to him and made it impossible to give him a shot that would kill him. If I made a mistake and killed a normal person, the system would kill me. In those seconds where luck is everything. I hesitated to shoot on several occasions.

I remembered what Lucia told me, but the situation had changed. In the minutes she was there, the girl did not manage to do anything. I would not have another chance to kill him.

I started to put my finger on the trigger of the rifle, and to aim at his head. Luckily, something was wrong with the car, and he couldn’t get in. Maybe the other users had sabotaged the car.

I didn’t hesitate to shoot at that moment. I touched the trigger of the rifle while I could see his face from the lens. However, something strange happened.
