Early eight in the morning, I already prepared and fix myself. I wear normal clothes I never usually use. I put my sword on my storage box and decided to just bring a small knife just in case a terrible thing happened.

I was standing in the central park in front of the water fountain.

It's hard to say this but in 22 years of living in this world. I never had a date in my entire life. It's true, Yunis and I become together, but because of the busy schedule of knights. We’re unable to go out.

This date is for the first time in my entire life.

I read a few novels and there is a chapter about dating, but I don’t really get it. Maybe the reason for that is my lacking any meaningful romantic experience.

Unconscious, I turned my head to the water fountain, seeing my reflection. I fix my hair and make a forced smile.

My smile is very awkward and I don’t think I can make a bright smile like everyone else.

“What’s

I’m outside of a city and walking in a place without any divine protection from monsters. I can’t believe that such a place exists in my world. I saw monsters here and there, but it was a kind of monster that Is considered not to be fear. Just a random slime monster jumps around and a low-level monster roams in this land. I still do believe that there is some kind of boss monster roaming in the deep forest. As long as it doesn’t hurt me in my journey it's fine. This land belongs to the Lian kingdom. It's the far eastern land on the map. It's also the farthest kingdom from the demon king army and the smallest. I heard rumors about Lian kingdom before, but I didn’t expect it to be true. In a cruel world full of bloodshed. This place is simply a paradise for everyone. The downside was the lack of material to be found in this k

Morning already arrived. In my eyes, the night just passed by. I didn’t get much asleep and thought many things after I woke up from my dream. After seeing where exactly is Latina. I was extremely worried about her situation. The revelation of the unknown entity. Tears will be wiped away in their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall be there morning, nor crying anymore, nor pain, for the former things has passed away. I wonder what she meant by those words. It sounds like a warning. It sounds like a warning of something horrible about to happen. While I’m continuously nagging my mind about it. The girl whose sleeping on the bed next to the bed I used has already woken up. She made a big yawn and stretched her arms upward. Her pajamas are a little big for her. The shoulder slides down revealing her body naked. She still wasn’t on herself and rub her eyes. “It's very cold last night…” She turned her glance on me and gre

A new day has come but the light of the sun is nowhere to be found. Latina was in her tent and the villagers cried for her before she sets off. Latina was sad, but it's sadder because the man she is waiting for never appeared. Brendan was said to go deep down into the mining field. Refusing to see Latina for the last time. “Are you really fine with this? Latina… We all made a secret meeting yesterday night without you.” The old man said as he look directly into Latina’s eyes. On his eye’s Latina refection can be seen. His eyes are shaking and mournful. “... We can’t do this any further… Since there is no more pure maiden. Next month will be our last. Ten years ago, the knights or order examined the terrain surrounding the demon king castle. I was one with other knights thinking of a way to easily go to the demon king castle. This mine cave is connected to a hidden cave inside a waterfall near the border of the Fiore kingdom. The path is dangerous because of the monster lurking everywhere, but using this path I’m able to reach the slave village fast. We then met a man attacked by a demon. There is a very young child and a blonde woman full of bruises. The woman immediately stood up and run to the little girl. Hugging her tightly. “Thank you very much for saving us.” “That demon is on our way…. We just destroy a roadblock. The path after this is plenty. Could you tell me where is the exit toward the slave village?” I asked the woman. The woman turned her head and using her index finger she pointed out a specific staircase placed in the wall going upward. “Staircase wi

  • Short story 12: Secret spy (Part 1)

A tough cookie like myself always begins his day with a nice cup of coffee. For us who dwelled in the shadows, making our living as spies, there was nothing better than taking up a cup of strong coffee to prevent our heads from feeling sleepy. Pumping ourselves full of coffee and drugs was the way of the world-weary. I mixed a drop of the medicine into my coffee and drank it down. This is my daily routine. I’d never been sure of what was in those drugs. I took them from a mail-order catalog. But they were super expensive, so I was convinced they were beneficial to my health. I took the cup and sipped it. “Bleh! So bitter…” This strong flavor was actually what banished sleepiness. Probably. That wasn’t written anywhere in the books, though. Coffee was bitter and gross and seriously tasted like mud, which triggered my gag reflex and made drowsiness my second priority. It didn’t taste anything like how they describe it in the spy novels. They wrote that black coffee was delicious or

Eden city, City hall. Dia clutched her temples trying to relieve some stress. “What is going on?” She whispered and stood up from her seat to get some tea. (I was gone for quite a while and problems pile up. Is that murderous Latina still doing her job? I take that back, she’s doing her job. She hated me more than anyone in this world. But she’s a big help, that’s for sure. I could not imagine myself doing this intense work without her.) Dia spawled back in her seat. She blow the hot steam first and sniff the relaxing aroma for a moment before she made her first little sip. She then shifted her sight to the paper laying on the desk. Most of them are report letters for spies Dia deployed to investigate other kingdoms' actions. The land that pull her interest the most was the neighboring country Ruki kingdom and The remote Islands of Youko. Youko wasn’t part of the world organization and they always push any offer from other countries as if saying that they could survive on their

“I’m dead!” I sat up as I woke up. Immediately I have my hand on my chest and check my wound. There are no wounds in my chest. My body is perfectly fine. I was skeptical myself and look around. The place where I found myself wasn’t someplace I know. There's no floor but I’m sitting. No walls or anything. The closest description I could ever think of was that this place looks like the starry night sky I usually gaze into. From some angles, this place looks majestic. I didn’t notice immediately, but there was a girl sitting on a throne in front of me. The face same as Elaina's. This girl was the Cosmo witch. “You really mess up there.” She said. “You here to help me again. Thank you so much…” “Help you?” The witch gives me a cold gaze. My limbs were torn apart and my head was skewered by a golden sword. “... Don’t get ahead of yourself. I’m not helping you or anything. Well, in some aspect we can say that I was helping you. I mean, you are dead right now and I’m the only one wh

There was a case about the havoc of the horned bear. The main culprit for that was the wyvern that took their shelter away from the bears. I took care of them and finds out that a part of the barrier melted. The hole wasn’t clear to the naked eye and only I who had a gleaming yes could see it. Wyvern noticing the hole is simply dumb luck. However, there must be someone who can see the barrier just like me and… Is this event caused by my ignorance?
