Diana took out a small book from among the thick clothes she was wearing. it was a few pages long, but Ren accepted it as a book anyway. The little sorceress moved slowly as she handed Ren the thin book, as if she were holding out the greatest treasure in the world.

"This book contains everything that a mage might look for in his first year.

When Ren took it, he saw it only had a small symbol on it look like a"X". There were symbols of trees and leaves with interconnected branches at the corners. But clearly, X in the middle was the most important piece.

"This symbol was handed down to us by the oldest ancestors of the Xandal dynasty. Our clan name is Xarnin now, but in the past we were much stronger with the name of Xandal. My granpa says we were controlling half of the contry. But it was too long ago anyway.

My clan, unlike yours, tried to follow the path of magic, not trade. That's why there is no one in the entire White Valley who can teach magic better than us. I don't think there will be anyone with more wizards than us anytime soon."

The white valley was the part on the north side of the city where the Gan Clan and the Xandal Clan were together. This area contained the homes of all family-based clans within the city. While other parts of the city were not given different names, this area was called the White Valley. Although no one knew why, this term was used by the population.

Diana interrupted when Ren was about to open the book with his tiny hands.

"Don't open it for now. Make sure you're alone and ready to practice when you open it. There are also some reminders to anyone starting out learning magic. Ah, since I'm your teacher, I have to say it.

You are just a normal mortal right now. To follow the path of immortality, you want to follow one of the paths left by our ancestors. You chose the path of sorcery."

Ren nodded. He already knew these thanks to his mother.

"But there is one more important thing you should know. If we say 1 to the beginning of this path numerically, you are now 0. You will only use what is on the first page of that book to rise from a normal human level, that is, from 0 to 1. Before you reach level 1, where you can feel the energy, Don't open the second page of the book! You can't rush things in magic."

Diana's eyes were very hard and fixed. Ren suddenly felt the need to nod and confirm.

"I'm going to find the other friend who went to the study area. His name was Sirius, I think. I need to talk to him too."

Ren was a little taken aback, thinking that it all happened so fast. He thought he would take personal lessons or learn special techniques. But all he got was a few pages of pamphlets.

"Is there anything else to be done?" His tone was harsh and without the added tone of respect.

She answered one last time before she stood up and walked away. "You said you didn't have time to spend on theoretical education. I told you what you need to do. If you work hard, you will reach level 1 and became a magician in two or three years. But don't get your hopes up. There are people who try for decades and never succeed.

And you know that your situation is worse than most people. Take care of your health."

Ren sat still for a while, not moving, as Diana walked away.

........

Ren first looked around the house to inform his family of the situation. He thought his father might be at home, even if his mother wasn't. But no one was home. He took his bag from his own room and left the house to start working immediately. He didn't want to be bothered by anyone.

He also felt psychologically overwhelmed. Maybe it was a good idea to go to his own private place. He needed a place to hide at that moment.” He set off for the Secret Cave.

He was holding the book tightly as he left the house and ran to the cave. He had a strange expression in his eyes. Especially when he came near the tree and looked at the cliff and the sea, there was a coldness in his eyes that could be felt.

"I don't want to die from this disease."

He turned his head to look at the tree and, picking up a few pieces of wood, jumped into the hollow and slid down. Now that he was getting used to the dark, he lit a torch without as much fear as before.

When he checked the bottom of the wall in the corner, he saw the explosive in place and smiled. Rene was proud of the first thing he had done with his own hands without his father's help.

He moved forward and placed the torch on the wooden handle. He straightened the ground with his feet and sat down on the broken but soft dirt in front of the door.

The book in his hand apparently had only a few pages. First he lifted the lid and looked the back side. It just had the same symbol on the cover. An X with a tree. On the first page on the inside, there was a short instruction and an explanation of a technique.

Ren read the text first. The writing described the clan's history, the limits of magic and the fame of the old Xandal clan(not today's Xarnin). Amongst things that didn't concern Ren for the most part, Ren managed to find some useful information. The technique was below.

Ren had been taught to read and write by his mother when he was 6 years old. And he was better at it than many of his peers. But the trouble was that there were a lot of special terms in this instruction that Ren didn't know. Ren could only understand half of the writing. The other half was cluttered with terms he didn't understand in many important places.

He decided to read the breathing regulation things written at the beginning of the instructions a few times and try the part he understood first.

He changed his seat on the floor and crossed his legs cross-legged. His body was straight. As Ren breathed, he had to constantly focus on his belly and imagine drawing energy from the outside into his belly with each breath.

So a simple "scene creation" should have been done.

It was here that Ren got to the first part he didn't understand. Since the written language of the book used very old words, his own vocabulary was not enough for him to understand.

Ren still sat in the sitting position on the book. He corrected his breathing as described. He tried for a while until his sitting position and breathing did not deteriorate on their own. When both his posture and his breathing were stable, he tried to try the "stage creation" thing.

He reluctantly closed his eyes. As he inhaled the warm air of the cave, he imagined that all the air was filled with energy. And he thought as if he was pulling all the energy into his stomach. In fact, Ren didn't need to understand the term in the book. "Scene creation" was an old term, and the man who wrote the book used it to better understand the reader by giving examples from his own time.

At the time of the man who wrote the book, it was the first theater performance in the city where he lived, and all the influential people of the city went to see it.

Before the theatrical performance, one of the actors came to the stage and explained some acting terms. "Scene creation" means that an actor imagines and believes "his character" and "his scene" as if they were completely real.

The man who wrote the book preferred to use this suddenly popular word in his writing, thinking that it would look more elegant.

Ren sighed non-stop for about 10 minutes. But that was its limit. While he was constantly breathing deeply, he was tired and had reached the end of his patience. At the age of eight, ten minutes was slightly better than his peers in terms of patience.

Feeling no progress or difference, Ren paused for a while and approached the metal door. With the door firmly in place, Ren wondered how he could open it. In fact, he wondered how long this door had been standing here or if someone had tried to open it before.

"I guess if I die before I can open you up, it will be upsetting."

Ren had already realized that the lock on the door had no hole to insert a key into. The only place that looked like a keyhole was a small circular spot right in the middle of the door. A slightly protruding round about 5 centimeters.

Ren had tried to lift it off the edge before. But it wasn't a cover that allowed the keyhole to emerge. He turned and stood with his back to the door. He was planning to read some more of the book he was holding. He slammed himself against the door, not realizing that his back was against the round ledge. And without realizing it, he pressed it against the ledge.

He realized what he had done a little late, but when he turned around he saw that the round thing had entered the door. Ren realized then that this round thing was a button that had to be pressed.

"I am an idiot!"

Taaak.....riiiing.!

A hard metal sound came from the door.

Thinking the sound was a bit melodic, Ren also noticed that there was no movement at the door. It was as if he had pressed some kind of bell. Even Ren's clan had old-style string-pulling tools used as bells. That's why he actually knew about the existence of door bells. But he didn't expect something this advanced. He was also surprised why he hadn't tried something so simple before. She smiled a little and got angry at herself. "I just had to press it and I tried to detonate it with a bomb."

When he remembered all the money he had spent, he forgot the door for a few seconds and froze at his stupidity. The money he had saveddor a long time was gone in one go.

"It just makes a sound by pressing it. And doesn't that mean there's someone inside?"

Ren thought he should wait a bit before ringing the bell again. He believed it would be disrespectful if he stepped on it repeatedly. A few minutes later he pressed again.

Riiiing..!

The sound was the same, but there was still no movement. If there was someone inside and he had a house made of such strong metal, he wouldn't have opened his door to everyone anyway.

Ren thought for a moment, then turned his back to the door and began ringing with his back every few seconds. The sound coming from the door was coming from far inside and far away. So even if it was loud enough to disturb the person inside, Ren didn't care too much. He was dying, and his anticipation increased while his fear of such mystical things decreased.

He was eight years old and waiting for a miracle to save him.

While holding the book in his hand and thinking about the parts of the text he did not understand, he pressed the bell with his back. After two minutes or so he understood most of the instructions, but he didn't know the meanings of the terms in a few places, leaving large gaps. But he also understood that these terms had no real urgency. He would never be able to go from level 0 to level 1 and take his first sorcery step if he didn't complete the exercise he just did and learn to draw energy.

The important thing right now wasn't perfection, it was just to be able to draw energy into his body.

He placed his hand on the supposedly diseased part of his chest and massaged it a little while continuing to press the bell with his back.

When the torch on the ground was almost gone, he stopped ringing. While he was thinking about bending over his bag, he suddenly heard a voice behind him!

It was a heavy metal sound. Confident that it was different from the constant ringing, Ren immediately turned around and started backing away.

Behind the door were the increasingly loud "tok tok ..." sounds. It sounded a little scary, but Ren understood that they were footsteps.
