ENTWINED DESTINY (BLANK WORLD) CHAPTER 5

The river releases its cold temperature to the environment. People of the blank world did not only feel it that night, they also heard the current, flowing gradually due to the fear that gave birth to quietness after Amaya confessed to had killed the clipper. Though crickets chirped naturally and normally but to the ears of the people, they were singing a death song for Amaya. Hence, death became the next oxygen in the atmosphere. They could smell it and feel it with the cold temperature of the river. Therefore, some quivered with their bodies while some had their lips vibrating like a ringing Nokia cell phone.

The night had to be a memorable night in the blank world. It must. Jessica had to make sure of that by bringing justice to the dead clipper, and the only possible way to do that was killing Amaya. Therefore she turned to her in the presence of all who remained quiet to see the manner of justice to be carried out. Disappointed, Jacob kept shaking his head, indicating Amaya's stupidity coz Jessica wouldn't take it likely with her after, for her sake, she spared Cynthia's life. Amaya knew it so she knelt down before the old witch approached, bitterly shedding tears. Her bravery reaction alone had won the heart of the people. No one would love to see anything happen to her, but what could they do when they are powerless and vulnerable?

Jessica's footsteps towards Amaya also sent a deadly signal. She swallowed hard then looked down at the poor innocent girl. "What did you just say, Amaya?" her voice wavered.

"I was curious, he attack me, so I defended myself."

"What were you doing at the crime scene?"

Amaya kept quiet.

Jessica's anger arose. She shook her head pitifully. "What a fuck were you doing there, Amaya!" she shouted. Her voice did not only startle the people around, but generated a double echo which sounded at the base the bridge of Kezra.

The fourteen years old girl cried, holding the old woman's garment like a child to her mother. "Please, forgive me, Jessica. I beg you for the sake of the love I have for you." the tears of the girl stirred up emotional atmosphere in the environment that had people like Cynthia shedding tears too.

Quickly, Jessica walked to a clipper, drew out his sward then began to return to clip Amaya. Tension arose among the people when they saw her. No doubt she must clip the innocent girl because she was known for cruelty, wickedness and merciless.

"Jessica, don't." Jacob's voice arose the tension.

"Please, Jessica!" Sunday added, breathing hastily.

Cynthia held her chest, while some people like Benny averted their eyes not to witness the death of the girl.

"Jessica!" Sunday shouted.

Unfortunately, the old witch failed to heed to their lamentation. She mercilessly clipped Amaya by piecing the sward into her abdomen. Blood stained the sward while Amaya fell backward on the ground, holding the wound.

"Amaya!" Sunday ran to her in a slow motion. He was driven by the love of a related blood twin sister not by natural love. But how would he had known when he had no idea what it is to be related by blood thoughtless of the fertilization of two ova by two sperms to form a monozygote and the iniquity in having an intimacy with each other? He carried Amaya like a mother breastfeeding a baby. The girl kept looking at his tears until she close her eyes and began to grow cold.

"Let this serves as an example to all of you!" Jessica began. "No one messes with me and the rules of this world and go Scot-free! Now, go back to your sanctums!" she commanded. "Fast!" she added then turned to Amaya and her brother. "Quickly, Sunday, take her to her room to receive a treatment she's not dead" she whispered.

There was a sudden joy in the heart of the boy when he heard that. So he quickly did as she said. Jessica also had to order Benny, a medical professional, to go treat her immediately. Cynthia didn't need to be told to follow them in order to give a helping hand.

A few minutes later, Jacob met Jessica on the bridge, both spacing into the river without exchanging words, allowing the breeze circulate into their bodies like oxygen in the lungs of a mamal.

"For once I thought you were gonna kill the little girl." Jacob broke the silence without looking at her.

"I knew exactly what I did." She replied.

Jacob glanced at her to explain.

"I cut her right here" Jessica indicated the position on Jacob abdomen. "Not to close in order not to damage any vital organ like the intestine. She's only gonna bleed but will be fine" she looked down at the river and continued. "I did that to bring Sunday closer to her for them to establish feelings together."

"How?"

"I knew Sunday will come for her rescue. The more he gonna stay with her until she's healed, the more both develop feelings and eventually have an intercourse."

Jecob smiled at her intelligence. "You're damn smart, Jessica. This simply means Sunday will be staying here for a while."

"Exactly!"

They chuckled happily until silence took over the bridge. Jacob exhaled exhaustedly and said, "It has been a terrible night. I guess I have to retire to my bed." He began to walk out from the bridge in his 'cow boy' appearance.

"Jacob!" Jessica drew his attention back. "If you ever call my name or prevent me from punishing somebody like you did today, I'll clip you and have your corpse fed by the birds of the sky." She threatened.

Jecob remained quiet for a while, staring at the mouth in which she used to utter the deadly threaten then smiled. He continued walking out of the bridge as Jessica stared at him seriously......
